Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
If there is all ready a thread about this, I failed to find it. I know there is a good cam/fail cam thread, but this is more to the point for new models and peeps interested.

I know with the Logitech 9000 it is recommended to turn off the auto focus, but then it's sometimes difficult to do close-ups properly. Since it is probably the most popular webcam in use...any tips or setting suggestions for the 9000?

I am aware of that thread and even referenced it in my OP but I have Bawksy iggified and the entire first page is just Bawksy calling out shitty cams with basically zero suggestions to help. Most people won't go beyond the first page if no help or suggestions are found.

New models are asking camera settings questions so figured a new thread with the specific topic mentioned may help.

2500k-3000k lights are great for the Logitech 9000.

For Sony cameras and most professional camcorders, I find 5000k works great (although I'm using a mix of 2.5k and 6.5k now.)

The easiest system is having two three headed standing floor lamps that are behind your camera (eg, next to your desk,) with one on each side. If there are shadows behind you a lamp pointed at a wall is nice, and possibly a lamp under your desk if your desk is solid.
