They now (or had) a website called LJ.com.

An admin came in to my room a while ago and launched me on there and told me about new software to use. The LJ.com site looks kind of like a facebook type set up, although updates, etc all go on the main page. So you can announce what you're up to. And I had just been wishing for a way to announce the shower show I had been trying to do.

Anywho, looks like among other things, you can add other Cam Models and Members as contacts, but even more interesting is you can go in other Models rooms with your model name now. From LJ.com, broadcasting you're still on all their network sites. Looks like you might even be able to add credits at some point.

I had almost posted here if there was a cam site that had options like that other, since I was liking the "community" feeling I was getting from all the models who had been coming in my room (although showing as guests).

Not trying to advertise them.. just letting those know what they are up to. Find it neat! And hopefully I don't run in to any of the problems I've heard about with them, LOL.

lol, I did hear some different opinions from models about LiveJasmin admins who are trying to get LiveJasmin models onto LJ.com ....

I'm boycotting LiveJasmin now after I found out there dollar/euro scam. LiveJasmin models get 35% and not 50% like on MFC. However if you are a european member, the models get only 25% and not 35% !!!

That is, if a European customer tips 10 credits, the model gets 3.5 credits. The european member did pay 10 euros for those 10 credits, the model gets 3.5 dollar for those 3.5 credits. And 3.5 dollar from 10 euro is about 25 %

ok, ok, ok, in Europe we are currently doing our best to change this ...
 
livejasmin completely alienated me with their obnoxious popup ads long before I even started watching cams. I have no doubt I'll see the new site layout on a popup before long.

A model who works on both LJ and MFC told me yesterday that Jasmin is changing their payout system now, so that models who make more money get to keep a higher percentage than 35%.

< $100 30%
$100 - $300 35%
$300 - $650 40%
$650 - $1500 45%
$1500 - $2500 50%
> $2500 60%

Looks like they are reacting to models leaving their site over their ridiculous 35% slice of the pie. (These amounts cover each pay period, which is half a month.)
 
This is true. You have to earn the percentages, and I have a little more info on Livejasmin:

For the first 4 hours of your stay on livejasmin, a model can not charge more than 0.98/minute. This is probably the busiest time for a model since she's new and a lot of people seek out the newbies for that very reason. Once the 0.98/min is up, though, it's time to get serious.

$100 - $300 35%
$300 - $650 40%
$650 - $1500 45%
$1500 - $2500 50%

2.accomplished $100 - $300 35%
1.aspiring < - $100 30% (unless you choose to do member chat only, which you are then making 25%.)

An additional 20% can be achieved from referred Members.



At first this seemed great! I admit, despite my distaste for LJ I had to give my 'not bad' face before I continued on my reading. Well, these percentages restart monthly. You don't start back up where you left off, you're back to 'aspiring'.

Someone said that the highest they allow you to charge is 3.99/minute. When I worked there I could go up to 5.99, so I'm not sure if that changed. No one has disputed her on that yet.

I'm not going to lie, I had a horrible experience on LJ so I'm always skeptical of their schemes. I don't know how this new LJ thing will work out, it might be great! I'm keeping my eye on the LJ ladies I know.
 
Their site redesign looks pretty neat, but I still wouldn't touch them with a 100ft pole.

Yeah.. this I don't like either. Someone said before they made this change, you got 35%. Now (if you go from free chat) you get only 30% up to 100, then you're at 35% for the next 200. Although if you do bring in a lot of business, would be better than before. But.. with the low payout, I imagine this change only benefited the top members more than the average ones.

I had a successful model there tell me, most members don't want to pay more than $1.99 either. Although my longest private was at $2.49. But $3.99 is the max.

From what I heard MFC would be much better, but I'm male. So hopefully SM will eventually approve me and cams can fix the issue with me account. But at $73 made on Livejasmin so far, need to stick around long enough to make a pay out. :lol:
 
Yeah, I had a hard time with people asking me to lower my prices and my top price was 2.99. When I looked around (I was doing the fetish section at the time) I had the third highest charge rate. I still did decently despite that, but it doesn't even touch where I am at now.

I too wish there could be a male section for MFC! I'd come perv you :p Good luck with the SM thing, I'm on there and love it! And yeah, definitely get your payout. You worked hard for it!

I guess a sliding fee structure is a pretty big issue when you have models from countries with different living costs competing head to head.

It sucks about the 35% on SM, but despite that I am still leaps and bounds over LJ, so I welcomed the change! And I just wasn't ready for MFC. LJ does NOT prepare one for MFC, LOL! I am confused about the Cams/SM thing. I thought cams was SM, just...separated for some reason? Like two companies under one giant company sort of thing? I think Cams has a policy where you can't sign up with certain other sites for a whole year per their contract? Please, someone tell me if I am spewing lies and deceit!

And yeah, I got in/outs all the time, lol!
 
So you find SM better than LJ?

Got approval on SM finally, will try doing a show there shortly. Right now my private rate is set at $2.24 and Exclusive is $2.99. No idea if that's too low or too much, but would be better than LJ.

Oh and something else I liked with the new LJ stream software, above the chat window is a ticker showing how much you're earning in real time. It was fun to watch during the private. :lol:
 
When I go to YouPorn, I always get a pop-up window taking me to a cam girl's live video, and I HATE that shit. I'm assuming, since the color of the chat window is red, that it's LiveJasmin models.

Cams.com's corporate name is StreamRay, which I used to get confused with Streammate constantly.

The biggest pitfall for me, on my two weeks on LJ - is that their payout structure is set up where you really won't get paid for what you do until a month later. For example, I started this whole web cam girl adventure on October 26th, I managed to make their minimum payout of $100 plus some before the closeout at the end of the month, I still won't receive that until NOvember 25th, then - and this is after the pay structure change, I'd made a decent pretty penny on LJ, but I won't see that until around mid December, so if you don't mind waiting to get paid, then that's great, but I'd only started this adventure out of the necessity of getting paid somehow..
In comparison, my first night on mfc, I made their payout plus some and got paid the very next day! I just happened to start the night before they closed out, and that was awesome to me, after weeks on Jasmin without seeing anything, it was like, wow mfc will actually pay me in a timely manner, and that is a glorious thing. So, I took that mfc money and got my new fancy Logitech Pro 9000, which I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome webcam...

I mean, what job in the world pays a month after you've worked? So, I'm sticking with mfc for the time being, because even after having put in two solid weeks WORK, and I mean WORK on Jasmin, I've yet to really see the actual loot...

I have to admit working with the new percentages has it's benefit once you've made it up the ranks a bit, but it seemed like a real grind, being that you start out at 30%, and their minimum payout is $100, so it's harder to make it to the higher ranks, but easier to climb them once you get it rolling... If that makes sense...

LiveJasmin was my mother.

It was the first site I ewer became aware of. I was in the gaming industry and a girl i knew in my pvt acct in the clan i was in began camming. I thought it was the coolest thing. I watched & studied for almost a year before i signed up with them. It was very different back then, but it's also the site that game birth to mfc. The owner was and still is an affiliate, one of their top affiliates too.

It was 35% to models, 30% to affiliates & the rest to LJ. But they were no slouches, they had support staff, no dinky dink shit either. Models could never be nude in free. They are still top tier. I'm glad to see that they've improved their model payouts and if you gotta wait a little extra, so what. No site except one pays the day after pay period, and haven't i been hearing that has not worked out so well from the wire transfer models the past 2 periods ?

Welcome to this board and thanks for putting my calculations in the spotlight again.

Unfortunately I must adjust my calculation. We in Europa are making a mess of our financially system, I'm so sorry this is hurting LJ's business model with your 1 EUR = 1 credit = 1 USD scam.
