On here, transparency means fully understanding how the site operates, and fully understanding its policies/objectives/motives. It implies openness, good communication, and accountability. I obviously can't judge for some of them, but given how brief your original post was, I'd say it's pretty much the opposite of transparent to me.

Its just frustrating - theres this stereotype that if you strip/cam/do porn/escort etc you must be uneducated or a totale ditzy airhead. You would think that the employers would know better. It seems like any random pervert with a small loan can start a camsite and does.

It's rather easy to explain - the ones who get the most attention, and the ones who are most vocal are accurately portrayed by some of these stereotypes. Cam models are no more ditzy than the average person - many of them more educated, but it's not unfair to say that those who are ditzy get quite a lot of attention.

I don't see anything this site has that's any better than others, and its all the more shady when these are <10 post count advertisers. I'd say as a general rule: if you want to advertise a site, at least be somewhat reputable.

I think that, when it comes to sex work, girls are more likely to play a "ditsy" role even if they are intelligent and educated. Which isn't to say that there aren't genuinely ditsy/not-so-smart camgirls out there, but sometimes ditsy is kind of cute and helpless in all the right sort of ways. Some gentlemen enjoy that cute, bubbly and "helpless" kind of personality. *shrug* There's nothing wrong with that, but obviously there are those of us who don't enjoy being perceived as ditsy/uneducated/whatever.

I do find it amusing that all of these really crappy camsites assume that we're all uneducated morons and try to take advantage of us. Personally, I'm paying up the ass (figuratively -- I'm not all that into anal ) for my education, and I plan on finishing school with several degrees under my belt. Most of the sex workers who I've known personally over the last three or four years have almost all been university educated (at least one of them had a PhD) and had chosen to do sex work simply because a) they liked it better than what they were doing and b) it still paid better than whatever career path they were on. Some of them just did sex work "on the side" for the thrill and some extra coins, or to pay for the ridiculously expensive degrees to begin with (I know that my education is going to cost me somewhere between 60-90 grand :shock.

While university education does not necessarily = intelligence (and is definitely not how I would quantify intelligence), I'd still say that there are probably more intelligent and educated sex workers out there than not. The role we choose to play on camera doesn't define who we are as people -- it just defines how the members/clients happen to see us. Unfortunately, that also includes those who may try to take advantage of this perceived lack of education/intelligence.

I mostly just shake my head at these people and continue on. :twocents-02cents:
