If you're promoting using X be aware that it shares your location !
It shows the country the posts are made from.
there is a setting that makes it more global and only show the region.

If you allowed a site , e.g. stripchat to post for you it shows the location of stripchat and not yours.

It's at the account level not at the post level.
Screen shot is from some random account on my feed today.
It cant be disabled in settings you can just choose country (default) or region.

So the reports of rolling it back weren't true? I'm so confused. Did I get AI'd misinformation?

I don't use it as it has never once converted traffic for me.

No idea, I saw a lot of people saying it was fake, saw people saying it was on the post, some people saying it was on the profile. I think someone somewhere misunderstood what it was which lead to people saying it's not real / rolled back etc when they were just looking in the wrong place.

I guess I have a hard time believing Elon would be so transparent but if it helps get rid of some of the problems, great!

And a VPN doesn't change that?
I don't know, I haven't tried, but again, I'm not a popular ars to have some "fans" knocking on my rusty iron gate of my property...
"Let the dogs out..."
As far as I know it's based off the IP where the account was created, so a vpn wouldnt change it.
IMO not really a huge deal, it's country, it isnt very specific, peoples accents give away more location information that the country an account was created in.

Yuck. :( I'm just really bad at social media in general, cause it's not part of my core internet experience. I could drink legally before facebook was released to the public.

Yeah, I don't use any social media in my everyday life at all. I find it kind of unhealthy, I don't see that the positive aspects of it, outweigh the negative in any way shape or form.
That's just my opinion, though.
I have not looked at what scientific research has maybe found. As far as society's mental health and social media. Just seems like a lot of effort toward something unpaid and really fake, to me.
I do think research has found it's crazily unhealthy for kids and teenagers, though. But despite that, everyone is letting their kids be on there.

But yeah, I agree, same here. Since Elon bought Twitter, it's kind of a shit hole. It was way better before everyone had to pay, ironically.

That's how I feel about it. Unless you're in a really tiny country that it lists specifically it isn't all that harmful, but I get some people in the industry keep ANY of that info private.

It for sure does, but you have to already have a huge network that RTs and interacts with your tweets. I get a few new OF subs every month from Twitter.

yes I'm sure your milage is very different from mine, considering I'm on pretty much the opposite type of live stream site, and looking for a completely different type of traffic.

it does not show you're exact location, does it? like adress, i hope not, im cool if it shows my country and state, but not my apartment number and address.

It's only country, nothing more specific than that.
