Hi all! I have been a model on MFC for 5 months now, I hope my question is in the right place (as I have to be more active before having access to the models only area). I have recently upgraded my webcam to the logitech C920, & was wondering if there was a thread or anyone who could help me figure out how to broadcast in browser on MFC using XSplit?
Any help would be awesome! X

Btw, This forum is amazing (Big Thank you to Ambercutie & contributors)! I have learnt so much. I'm just gutted it took me 4 months into camming to find it :(

@TMxx You might want to check out this post from AmberCutie OBS available on MFC: HD Streaming! I know it's not Xsplit, but it is free and works with MFC.

Back in the day, people would open MFC broadcaster and choose Xsplit as the camera input.

Sense MFC now works with OBS, you might be able to set it up directly with xsplit. If you wanted to try it. This is my best guess on the settings.
  1. open xsplit
  2. output menu
  3. setup a new output
  4. Custom RTMP
  5. set name to MFC
  6. set RTMP URL to rtmp://ngx-ingest-a.myfreecams.com/NxServer
  7. set Stream Name to you MFC stream key.
  8. set user agent to
  9. Set video codec to x264
  10. set video birtate to 4500
  11. set video mode to CBR
  12. set audio encoder to AAC LC
  13. set audio birate to 128
  14. set audio fromat to sterio
  15. set adapter to let system decide
  16. check Interleave audio and video in one RTMP channel
  17. click ok
Keep in mind this is just a guess. If it doesn't work, might need to uncheck interleave audioa nd video. Or maybe change AAC LC.

Nope, not able to use xsplit like that on MFC right now.
help me figure out how to broadcast in browser on MFC using XSplit?

Xsplit can be used as a virtual cam, though. It's the program that I used before I switched to OBS. I discussed it briefly in my Logitech Webcams thread. You'll need to open Xsplit, add your webcam as a video source, then once you're on MFC, select Xsplit as the video input in your Flash settings (or cam/mic settings at the bottom of the modelweb page.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, Lelo & Ambercutie! Looks like it's still back in the day! XD I've managed to do it just as you guided me Ambercutie.

I'm kind of surprised xsplit can't rtmp to MFC.
rtmp is a standard, like http.
I mean it's the equivalent of a website only working with one browser.
Or only being able to check your email with outlook and not thunder bird.

Usually with open standards it's just find the right combination of settings.

I'm not complaining, or questioning, just lamenting. Not that OBS isn't cool, cause it is. Just people should be able to use any program or device they want to.

Yeah I misspoke previously my bad. It can.

No idea how well it works that way though as I’ve only used OBS.

Can you confirm the settings to use?

My guess from before is

  1. open xsplit
  2. output menu
  3. setup a new output
  4. Custom RTMP
  5. set name to MFC
  6. set RTMP URL to rtmp://ngx-ingest-a.myfreecams.com/NxServer
  7. set Stream Name to you MFC stream key.
  8. set user agent to
  9. Set video codec to x264
  10. set video birtate to 4500
  11. set video mode to CBR
  12. set audio encoder to AAC LC
  13. set audio birate to 128
  14. set audio fromat to sterio
  15. set adapter to let system decide
  16. check Interleave audio and video in one RTMP channel
  17. click ok
But I had no way to verify the right video mode, audio encoder or interleave.
