One thing sure is that they store your IDs :
They can always control it later to review your account and can in example compare your photo with your stream or invalid your account when the Id date is overdue.
But these IDs are not available publicly for inspection, even connected from your own account.
It seems that they are stored on a secured server with no internet access.

We maintain secure records of copies of your account records (including copies of your photo ID, if provided) for at least seven years, as required by law.
