Alright, so I just started getting back into social media outlets for work around 8 days ago. In that time I've been 100% focused on building my Instagram following (just my platform of choice, I don't like Twitter as much). After getting around 320 followers, I was banned for:

    - "Sexually suggestive photos or other content"
    - "Soliciting sexual services"
    - "Using sexually explicit language"

Being 100% forward, I did have "#sexworker" in my bio because I'm not shy about it and my website was linked to my Linktree, which has my Chaturbate affiliate link on it. I also had used a few models with +100k followers as a guide on what I could and couldn't post (assuming since they probably see a ton of traffic and would get ToS violations asap for breaking them). Up to this point (besides my last post), I had not posted anything even remotely sexual, just random photography pictures that I've taken and day to day updates. (One post had zoomed in picture of my Chaturbate token holdings because after not logging in for over 3 years, I forgot that I only needed like 75 more tokens to cash out for that period; so I was stoked lol. It's like a free $50).

I did, on the other hand, use some #hashtags that we're kinda suggestive:
    #dickmagnificent #daddy #naked #nakedhustle #nakedman #chaturbate #cam #cammodel #follow4follow #hottie #dilf #dd #daddykink #master #webcammodels #pornlife #18up #Iliterallylaughedoutloudmakingthis

Now my most recent post is where I think I screwed up :/ I saw where someone else had posted the services that they were offering and had it linked back to their website. So I made a post (pic of the sun coming through a strawberry refresher at Starbucks lol) last night saying I was still offering boyfriend experience, texting, private snapchat, findom applications, and custom videos, while I was waiting to get back on Chaturbate with above hashtags. Since I've been in the "offline game" more as of recently, I honestly thought my profile was too tame and needed to be spiced up a little. By no means was I expecting to get deactivated.

This is where my question comes in! Is there anything glaring where you're like, "Yup, you hardcore fucked up, right there specifically..." that you notice? (like blacklisted words, hashtags, etc) Also, are there any tips from those of you who have large followings on not getting banned while still posting these things? Thanks in advance :)

(I did a search and didn't see a similar thread, but if there is, feel free to delete :p)

Sex workers are not allowed to use Instagram even if we are not directly soliciting. The only way for you to use it without getting banned is to completely hide that you’re a sex worker. Don’t use your working name, don’t mention that you’re a sex worker in any manner, don’t mention any services, and don’t post sexual content or even very kinky content. Keep it PG rated and clean, and if anyone messages you to inquire if they can meet you or see more of you, give them your whatsapp or other work-related number so you can discuss your services with them off-platform.

Otherwise you’re honestly better off choosing another platform. Tumblr is good if you don’t like Twitter.

Ah alright, that 100% makes sense. I'm hardcore not a social media person, but am giving it a shot to make the transition back to online a bit easier (which was timed horribly with fosta/sesta lol), so I really appreciate the advice :)

I think I'm just going to lay off Instagram all together then and begrudgingly give Twitter another try haha. I never thought of using Tumblr though; I honestly thought it was dead years ago, but will give that a shot too!

I agree that Instagram really isn’t the best place for any nudity/sex work imo. I haven’t been banned (ended up deleting it though at around 70k followers and felt no loss to income at all I was just sick of the freeloaders and jerks on ig out of all my social media accounts I've had IG members have been the rudest) but have had non-nude photos deleted by IG for rule violations even though there were no nipples or anything. I think one picture was of me in a bikini or something! They also took away my ability to put captions for any pics somehow. (I was using tinyurl I think to disguise my sw links) They are really inconsistent with nudity rules because I’ve seen so many guys with just straight up dick pics on there yet my non nude photos are somehow porno. So yeah...highly strict and inconsistent w/rules and ended up not being worth it all for me. All it takes really is for someone to report you- Hashtags or not. The only tips I can think of it just post fun/casual photos and not try to promote services there. It's not worth it to me to jump through hoops to stay on there.

I'm glad you shared your experience! The part that was messing with my head was, like you said, "the inconsistencies w/ the rules." Which is kinda to be expected since they have so many users, but I was still kinda like, "But it wasn't as bad as what 'so and so' posted and they're still there!" **said with folded arms and in a grumpy kid's voice**

I think at the end of the day it just came down to the fact that I was too open about it and got reported. They did have a link for me to appeal, but I HIGHLY doubt I'll actually hear anything back. I've chalked it down to a learning experience on what not to do in the future though! Hopefully this small thread helps anyone else who decides to pursue the Instagram route :)

Yeah I had my Insta profile deleted, too. I think the reason was that it has been reported.
And I think you need to stick with non-banned hashtags and of course better don't have links to your MFC or Chaturbate in the insta bio. But links to Twitter or your own Website should be ok I assume.

This is good to hear because I have been on the fence about making an IG. Seems like more stress than its worth and I wonder what percentage of the audience that discovers a model through IG would actually follow the bread crumbs and buy tokens. I use twitter with no problems. Some of my members want more cosplay content through Patreon but I'm nervous as hell that I will get shut down because I am a cam girl.

I've even had my vanilla IG account deleted for mentioning sex work and my work related IG accounts lasted maybe a week maximum.
