I'm having trouble getting legit modeling gigs. It seems like I keep getting offers for work that are asking me to do stuff I feel is inappropriate to ask of someone you're looking to hire. Specifically, Skype or zoom interviews, nude interviews, sending photos (I have tons of easily accessible content that anyone can see if they just click on my twitter, Instagram, or manyvids links). How do I know who to trust and what they can and cannot or should not ask of me before deciding to hire me. I'm just not looking to get hurt or waste my time.

Are you trying to get into print modeling or something? If not, just block them all and stick to the cam world, making your own content.

Easy peasy!

I'm honestly trying to get extra work outside making my own content, I'm trying to get more exposure. I'd really like to find photo or video work with an actual real company, but understand that I don't have too much professional experience. I have a profile on sexyjobs but never end up getting further than answering their requests for work and emailing back and forth only to decide I don't want to work with them because I don't feel like their offers are legit or safe. I always feel like I'm just being scammed and don't want to be naïve and take any chances. I am starting to wonder if I should just keep to making my own content and that be that. I am really just trying to make some extra money on the side and get "recognized." I just don't know how to get recognized by the right "people."

I feel like once you have a cam model/online adult content creator, you won't find legit offers like that. I personally would never trust going to physically be photographed or anything, not wanting anyone to have both my online persona and my real ID in the flesh.

So basically, are you suggesting to just not accept any offers for modeling or video work at all? I am just making sure I understand. In that case, can I ask how I would go about being recognized by a real company (example: Kink, Vivid Entertainment, MindGeek, Twistys, etc)? I'm really interested in breaking into the industry, but just don't know how to get recognized or approach a company. I'm only looking to shoot stuff I'm comfortable with and don't want to get taken advantage of or hurt.

That's just what I'm saying I would do, it feels too risky to me.

But:

That's why I was asking if you were trying to be a "print model" (maybe wording was off, but meaning in produced porn, official magazines, etc.) In that case, I'd guess you'd need to find someone with contact information directly with their agents/recruiters. I am not sure we have anyone here at ACF that's made the leap from independent to mainstream porn stuff that can help guide you to that.

I agree with what @AmberCutie is saying.

Guys on these adult sites (cam sites...adult clip sites...OnlyFans...etc.) who are talking about "legit modeling gigs"...I would tell them no, thanks, and move on. Most of them are full of shit, and trying to get you to give them your real name and phone number...and trying to hookup. And even if they did have actual gigs for you, are you sure you want to accept a modeling gig (and give your REAL name...contact info...and your photo ID) to some random cam site member who knows where you cam...who can blurt out your real name and number in your public chat at any moment?

If you were looking to get paid modeling gigs and photo shoots with photographers, I would have suggested you make a model account on sites like Model Mayhem and One Model Place. But again...you would be meeting up with these people in person...giving them your real name and contact info...and showing them your photo ID prior to shooting. If you're going to go this route, I would advise that you NOT get so comfortable telling them all of your camgirl business, because these guys will probably be so intrigued and ask you 100 questions about which site you're on and what your name is on there (They're gonna wanna check you out...cross your fingers they don't ever come into your chatroom blurting out your real name). And I bet you some will even be like "That's hot! You know, you and I could film a scene together...that way you have some new content." *Wink, wink* 🙄 As if they're trying to do you a favor. Real slick...lol.

I've seen some people suggest that female models bring a trusted male friend with her to a shoot (Though some photographers may not allow this), as long as he stays out of the photographer's way and isn't being obnoxious trying to tell the photographer how to do his job. It's also been recommended that you check references. Talk to other models. Even though I feel like models who've had negative experiences might not even appear on their Model Mayhem or OneModelPlace profile, if he's happened to delete her comments...unfriended or blocked her. Scumbag photographers are going to want to delete any negative reviews/comments asap.

Sites like Model Mayhem and OneModelPlace do have legit photographers on there, but there will also be GWCs (Guys With Cameras) on there who are pretty much picture collectors...trying to get lots of naked pics of hot women and seeing if they can get laid. These guys give a bad name to the legit photographers who are serious about their work. I've had one guy get a little too comfortable that after the shoot...he thought it'd be appropriate to ask if he could "eat me out." He got so offended when I told him no. SMH. And this other sleazebag photographer from the Hampton Roads, VA area decided to harass/stalk me online after we'd had an argument. And a couple other photographers making inappropriate sexual remarks like they're hoping to get laid at some point during the shoot.

If you agreed to do a lingerie or swimsuit shoot, and during the shoot the photographer is making remarks about how he's getting turned on...and keeps saying shit like "So what all are you willing to do? How far are you willing to go? If you do photos/vids of you ______ with me, it pays more!"...this is a dude who's trying to get laid, and I'd stay the fuck away from him from now on.

Professional companies rarely make offers to models they don't know. They get contacted (usually through social media nowadays) by plenty of aspiring models. Lots of sites have contact pages too.
Sexyjobs has few genuine professionals.
Depending on your location you might be able to find an agency. In California for example those are regulated and should be a member of LATATA. Like Spiegler Models, or Motley Models.

So I had a few offers form some big porn companies, even a magazine to fly my out and do a photoshoot or casting, I personally don’t want do more than camming from home so I politely declined. But I did have my email on my cam page when I was getting these offers. I got A LOT of bogus offers as well so make sure you look carefully at the email and make sure it’s legit before clicking anything.
you can try finding an agent but they cost money, could be worth it if you’re serious. Also for non porn stuff you can try backstage.com make sure you look for paid gigs only and always do your research on the people you talk do and let someone know where your going and who you’re talking to.
99.999% of photographers that will approach you are pervs.

I used to be a professional model photographer + owned mass websites for various purposes . (+ stock photography / etc)
But that was mainly cause a good digital camera back then was $30k worth.

Now days, imo you have sufficient access to quality camera's / video / etc.. At cheap prices.
And are better off just doing everything yourself.

Not like anyone reads a magazine, or watches a TV now days anyway..
