I used ovoo when me and my bf were long-distance.
it seemed to run a bit faster than skype at least on my laptop.

I am seconding oovoo. Good program and if you're a model, at least in the old versions, it won't let someone record you without their permission.

Dang read the TOS, and they don't allow pornography. Thought it might be a nice Skype alternative till I read that.

Chances would be slim if it was just your boyfriend. Most likely they only act if there's a report. Obviously wouldn't be as protected with camming though.

I found an alternative to Skype that does not mention adult content in their TOS. https://appear.in/

Seems like a good site! Thanks Guy! Read over the TOS, and didn't spot anything red flag-wise, so gonna bookmark that. Haven't tested it for myself yet, but, if I ever need an alternative that's gonna likely be the the one I'll use.

You might want to read section 4 part D of Skype's TOS then because every cam model ever has violated it using skype.

(d) use the Software or cause the Software (or any part of it) to be used within or to provide commercial products or services to third parties. The foregoing shall not preclude you using the Software for your own business communications, subject to paragraph 4.1 above;

Unless you are camming for free on Skype you're providing a commercial service to a 3rd party. That's an express violation of Skype's TOS.

Wasn't saying that it wasn't (unfortunately it is). The point of the thread was technically finding alternatives to Skype/Skype-like sites/software. Yes, many camgirls have violated it, but that's mainly because it's been the only thing we felt we could use.

If you read the TOS of the site Guy linked to here: https://appear.in/

Maybe I'm missing something, but they don't seem to have issues with any of these things.

Also if sites like SkyPrivate and Cammodeldirectory allowed camgirls to connect with members via ok sites like appear.in then I'm sure you'd see more over there than you do. The platform helps us get our names out there after all.

Absolutely, and all I am saying is that oovoo has a TOS to protect them from liability just like Skype does.

Appear.in seems ok but I always am wary of html and java

How are SkyPrivate and CamModelDirectory even able to exist if they break Skypes rules?

Honestly I've wondered the same thing.

I'm thinking about getting Skype so I can use CamModelDirectory. Could I be banned from Skype for paying for shows?

I doubt it unless (I assume) you reported a camgirl to Skype.

Not that I'm recommending it because they probably have an anti-porn policy too just like everyone else, but just out of curiosity...do people use the webcam feature on Yahoo! Messenger anymore? I used to chat on there all the time with a cute guy I had met on Match.com.
