Hi, everyone

I hope that everyone is having a nice new year so far. Okay, here is my dilemma.

I got 2 offers from SJ for BBW film work. One of the dudes is in California and the other dude says that he lives here in Detroit but shoots in Atlanta. Both of these dudes are coming off sketchy as a motherfucker.

The fellow in California said in his original message that he pays $1500 a scene. Dude told me that he wanted me to do a few scenes and now he's telling me that he only wants me to do one of them. Plus he keeps asking me for twerk videos after I already sent him a solo as verification to prove that I am who I say I am. I don't want to fuck with him for 2 reasons. I don't know how to twerk and plus I think that if someone is willing to fly me out to california, it should be worth my while. I should be doing at least several days worth of work and come out with 5k to 6k at the end of it.

The Detroit dude sends me 10 million text messages a day. This dude up and called me when I told him that I wasn't ready to talk to him. This cat claims to be managing people like Lethal Lipps but if that was true, why does his twitter look like this?

Oh and the Detroit dude is trying to make me beg to work for him by saying that he is going to AVN and Las Vegas next week. Apparently this man thinks that I will bend over backwards to work for him and that i am a brainless dolt.

I am curious of working with these people cause everytime that I have ever had dealings with anyone from SJ, its been a disaster. I had one guy once take me to an abandoned house and try to "test me out" and he had keloids on his ear. I had another "producer" try to "test me out" and I later found out that he was a convicted sex offender.

I don't really fuck with SJ (Sexyjobs) anymore cause that site seems to be full of scammers and people who aren't interested at all in really making money. However, the site refuses to delete my account.

I would love nothing more than to be in the industry but I want to get around the right people. Its just difficult to get around the right people when you are a dark skinned bbw that sounds like a valley girl.

Am I really to be a little bit skeptical of the dude from California and the one from Detroit? I don't want to turn down any possible work but I also don't want to be brutally murdered.

Can they provide references from other models they have worked with (and not their screenshots - actual models YOU can contact for info) and proof of who they are? If they can't/won't - don't go near them with a 10 foot pole.
They shouldn't be demanding verification if you have sites that you are ID verified on. Never send out free shit.

The fact that you need to post this and ask is a red flag. If you have to ask yourself and others these many questions means it is too shady. Always go with your gut feeling girl. There is 0 amount of work out there that is worth your safety and information.

This is my opinion, forged from half a decade in sex work. So -

I've never heard of SexyJobs before now, but any site that won't let you remove your listing is a scam waiting to happen. Whatever contact info you have, change it. Alternatively, never check those emails/phone numbers again. It's scam central from the little you've told us. Anyone who contacts you from there, block. Don't entertain these fuckers for free.

Myself and many others will argue that live porn shoots aren't where the money is anymore. Every porn model I've spoken to in the last few years, male or female, has said that they have to supplement their income with escorting, cam, phone sex, or other SW venues because porn just doesn't pay well. Hell, after the costs of testing, personal 'upkeep' for appearance, etc., I make more on an average 8 hour cam shift than ladies doing porn shoots will, and I can schedule far more cam shifts than most folks can porn shoots.

If you're really interested in couples work, the best strategy for both safety and income is to film with other verified models that you've gotten to know through the industry. Think the same male and female models that you see on major clip sites (Clips4Sale, IWantClips, ManyVids, etc) and who are active on forums and twitter. People you meet through local community kink pools, if you're in a major area. People who are obviously who they say they are, in general. Chat with them via those platforms. See if you vibe. If you do, broach doing a content trade weekend together. You'll make far more in the long run off a weekend filming 10-20 good clips and trading who gets to sell/post what then you ever will off a $1500 per scene 'porn producer' of incredibly dubious origins.

The dudes you're talking to sound like freeloaders with a fetish at best. Block them and move on.

Everyone that has commented so far, I have the same sentiment. Go with your gut this all reeks scammy and predatory.
Don't waste anymore of your time being in contact with these dudes. I would also contact sexyjobs to warn them about these guys as well. Not sure if the site is really monitored in that nature but it dont hurt.

I hope that everyone having a good morning. I am in michigan, so its morning here lmao.

Here is an update:

I blocked the dude from Detroit cause he was just way too creepy. Look I want to make money but dealing with him is not going to get it done. Dude was coming off more as like a stalker than someone who really wanted to work and make money. I am not entirely sure of this but I think that this cat was the same dude from sometime ago that I found out was a convicted sex offender. Its just a hunch and I have no intentions to find out if my hunch was correct.

When it comes to the california dude, oh that's over. I asked him point blank if I could get some references from him and he told me that he didn't want to work with me. I am not sure if that's cause I took so long giving him the twerk video that he wanted or cause i asked him about the references, personally I don't give a fuck. I texted him back and told him that he shouldn't play games with people and that he was really fucked up in the head for that.

I have a hunch that this dude is a cat who used to run a escort agency called erotic fantasy companions or angels or some some shit like that. I don't think its in existence anymore. Apparently he was shooting porn while also doing the escort thing. I almost signed up with him on the porn end until I peeped his game and saw much of a ass he was on the phone. I am a pretty ballsy broad, so I think that I would butt heads with a pimp.

Personally I think that when someone contacts me off of that site, its generally for a fat fetish. I have had an account on SJ for at least 4 to 5 years and have never had a porn job happen. People will contact me and set up stuff but when it comes to flying me out and getting papers signed and getting a move on, suddenly there is a problem. It is literally the most fucking annoying thing ever. I have asked the owners of SJ to remove my account and to deal with the obvious scammers but they don't do shit at all. In fact, sometimes the owners of SJ actually ignore my messages. I don't even fuck with SJ like that anymore cause i know that the site is full of scammers.

I think that I am actually going to try the independent route again. Like someone in this thread has said, i can make money without a studio. Its just a matter of figuring out how to market myself properly. Its also a matter of money because I don't have a lot of it and I would like to buy a decent camera. I am sure that I will figure this out, i hope.

Thanks for your responses, ladies. :)

No offense to detriot, but I have not heard good things about shooting porn there.

Also. Lethel Lips is a legend in my eyes. I was.following her career even before I was a sex worker (over 10years ago). She is a local celeb, I can't see her working with any of these shady AF dudes. I can't see why she would have an agent in Detroit who shoots in Atl...when she is not even based in those areas.

I agree with everything that has been said. Get references, real first person references. If you are a verified model on a couple reputable sites then you don't need to verify yourself or send any free (esp custom) content. If they have a problem and done believe you are who you say you are...rhen tell them to contact you on the site are verified on.

I'm all about that Idependent root, so go for it! Get yourself verified on the forum so you can have Acess to the wealth of Information the cam girl wiki is another great source of information.

Most modern phones have pretty decent cameras in the, that will good enough to get you started.

In 2019 we have SO many options for sex work, token sites, prvt sites, indie sites, clip sites, pso sites, texting sites...independently selling things...you don't NEED to be in contract with anyone. Being in full control of our income is where its at!!!

❤️

Where amateur clip making is concerned, there's good money to be made with a very basic set up. A c920 set to its 1080p definition (use OBS to record) with an external mic (I use a Blue Yeti Nano now; started with a $20 Fifine from Amazon), decent lighting (I picked up an umbrella kit for $40 on Amazon), and a simple but clean background (bed + sheets + fluffed pillows; nice accent chair against a plain wall with minimal clutter/furniture; etc). Basic editing software like Filmora is $30 or so. You can get everything you need for well under $150, and it doubles for camming equipment. Just posting one 5-10 minute clip per day on the major sites (C4S, MV, IWC, NF, etc) with this level of visual quality and decent content will make you more money than you expect.

For reference, I sell predominantly non-nude content, all sensual tease or femdom/fetish focused, and I post ~20-30 clips per month. I average between $1500-2500 in sales on premade content alone now. It took me ~6 months to hit that point. It's very, very doable. Inevitably, customers will want to buy custom videos from you and those can net you $100+ per clip very easily. That's good cash, all considered.

These days, a porn scene can go anywhere from $500-$1500. That's based on convos from the average porn girls I know. They can book maybe 4-8 per month, but often far less. With clips, you do it by yourself, at home, with guaranteed safety, and you can get to making that kind of money within a few months of consistent uploads. It's all about consistent, quality content, then upgrading your equipment as your income justifies.

Girl, I'm so glad you realized that's some shady shit. I was so creeped out reading the things these creeps have said and done to you. First of all, no legitimate producer will ask to "try you out." Nor do they ask for free videos. They usually ask for a few pics so that they'll know what they're working with, but that's about it. The money he was offering you is also a red flag. $1500 for one scene simply doesn't happen in this industry, unless you're super famous, and the company is highly known and successful.

Like the other girls have said, always check references. And I would definitely recommend filming your own content anyways, because it's true that the money isn't in paid shoots anymore. Most likely you make $500/scene, and that's after paying $200 for testing, out of your own pocket. Plus you get burn out easily. The more people you work with, the less desirable you become for some producers. They like fresh faces. 99.9% of porn performers also cam, escort, or have a 9-5. Personally, I only chose to do a few paid scenes to get my name out there. Now I produce my own. Working for someone else isn't necessary in this industry anymore. You got this all on your own!
