I'm curious as to how many of the models who frequent this board have also worked (or are currently working) in any other "adult" occupations, such as escorting, dancing, etc. If not, would you ever consider such work? If you have done so, but no longer do, what was your reason for quitting? And does past or current experience in other erotic professions yield any help or advantage in working as a cam girl?

Well, in the Internet age, anyone can be their own producer and entrepeneur, with many sites such as Clips4Sale, etc. The way to "get into it," it seems to me, is to "just do it." Homegrown, self-produced porn is one of the hottest things on the Internet. A decent cam, simple editing software, some ideas and enthusiasm, and presto -- you have "gotten into it."

I work online. I do clips4sale and such, but I'm not willing to break the internet barrier. My reasons are some that many people would scoff at and think are not even real, but they are very real, and the less a person believes in it the more susceptible they are to it.

If I didn't have this thing which prevents it, I honestly don't know what I would be willing to do. Not sex with random people. That I know has always been a line with me, not completely connected to my issue. Exotic dancing appeals, as does escorting without "happy endings". Profession Domme seems like it could be fun, as long as there's no penetration of me happening.

I've known a couple of girls who did some escort work, and they both agreed that for many of their clients, any sexual activity was almost incidental, and that it was much more about companionship and self-esteem. If you have a pleasant and empathetic personality, and can genuinely make a client feel special and appreciated, you can do very well in the business.

As for escorting, although I'm not morally opposed, I really don't think anyone would willing to spend the amount it would take to get me into bed. Gogo dancers usually act as a prop/background act at a larger event/concert/nightclub rather than being their own stage show. Although there are gogo dancing shows and competitions. I think its often tied into goth-industrial and raver cultures as well.

I have.

I've worked as a Pro-Domme/Switch (non-sexual -- meaning that I didn't offer any form of penetration or traditional sexual services) out of a dungeon, and also briefly as a Phone Sex Operator. I considered working as a dancer, but I feared that I wasn't 'mainstream enough' or girly enough or graceful enough, lol. I did these things while I was on a working holiday visa on the other side of the world, though.

Would I consider doing them again? Absolutely, if there was a market for them and a way to do them safely. There's really no market for any of those things where I live now, though, so it's not really an option anyway.

Would I do porn or escort? Honestly, I don't know. While I don't think that any of what I do now is all that different (it's all sex work, afterall), there are certain things that scare me or seem to cross some kind of line in my head. If I did do porn, I think that I would limit myself to things like Kink.com. Watching mainstream porn doesn't do anything for me, so I can't imagine that participating in it would either, lol.

As for escorting, well, I fear that I would be too much of a fickle bastard for that to work out well. I'm too stubborn to do much of anything (let alone anyone ) that I don't want to do, and I'm definitely not interested in one-offs (client or not, good sex takes time, and I'm not a fan of bad sex).
