Hi there,
I just moved to a new apartment and was gonna work on cam.
But the internet here is a public one I guess, the way you connect is like in the airport, u put in my phone u got a code, u put in the code and then u r online.
It’s actually super fast but the thing is it banned chaturbate and other pornsites.

with other porn sites such as porn hub, it straight up says it’s banned but w chaturbate, it says fortigate wasn’t properly installed.

i Never installed fortigate, actually never heard of it before, but assume it’s about the WiFi firewalll too.

Does anybody know how to go around that?

Oh wow that's horrible :(

Fortigate is a firewall,
probably what the apartment are using to block you and Chaturbate software is likely detecting that (not positive but my best guess). I doubt your apartment would open up the Fortigate firewall for you to let you transmit if they block other porn sites.

You'll probably have to get your own internet somehow. There are some hotspots that are pretty fast nowadays.

and honestly I would never be comfortable using a public system like that to transmit. Huge privacy issue, pretty easy for others to see what you are doing.

You could try a vpn but it really depends on how much they have it locked down, they might a lot of the known VPNs or they might block ports that aren't 80 or 443 it just depends. You would have to try a few different things to see if you can get around it. I would start with a VPN that allows you to connect via port 443.

I wouldn't connect to the Internet after about 1999 without a VPN, public or not. =/ Although back then it was more tunneling through my friend's networks just to mask my IP.

I've successfully used NordVPN to get around many "secure" firewall lockouts. Works like a charm in most cases. Their client is easy and you can usually find a 2 or 3 year package for $99 on their Web site. They also support the openVPN software (runs faster on PC than their client).

In addition to security and getting around firewall lockouts... you can also use your new VPN to view streaming content in other countries. Like connecting to a Canadian server to watch Marvel movies on Netflix after they were all removed from the US Netflix. =P

Good luck,
cexmental

I've heard Windscribe is one of the best budget VPNs around.

I use them to test stuff from a colombian IP address because they have a server in colombia. I would not trust their software for anything beyond tests, I only have experience with their browser extension but I can tell you right now it stops working often and then i'm connecting with my real IP and not the colombian IP.

You could just try using Opera, they have a free built-in VPN, no money needed.
Try them before trying anything else, if they are compatible with streaming etc

The "VPN" service inside Opera isn't actually a VPN as such. It's an encrypted proxy. It only handles the traffic in the Opera browser, and everything else that talks to the internet exits through your normal IP.

@emoasiangirl_69 The reason you get that particular message ("not propely configured") is because the browser you use to access chaturbate.com does not understand the way the Fortigate firewall blocks the traffic, but the traffic to CB is still blocked. A regular, paid for VPN service is the only way around this.
