I am a newbie model signed to Extra Lunch Money and I was wondering if using copyrighted songs in my videos that I sell could lead to problems.I assume that a big time record company wouldn't care if Any porn models do this as its not uploading their music for the purpose of strictly listening to but more of mood music,That being said I Know that youtubers get their videos taken down sometimes for copyrighted music playing in the background,And this would be selling videos.

I wouldn't be claiming the songs as my own,Just like movies dont claim an actors Tshirt is their brand.I'm having a hard time finding sexy rnb-ish sounding free music so I think using songs by artists I can actually find easily would be a good choice.

Technically, using music in videos could get you in trouble if it fell into the hands of someone who can do something about it.

That being said, for some videos, music is unnecessary. Many customers have said that they'd rather have no music unless it's a video that kinda requires it, like dancing. Masturbation, though, music is unnecessary and most people prefer none.

Im starting out with foot fetish videos,And i'm not sure if no music would be awkward or not.The basics of it would be two pictures and me flexing my feet but since it was a small amount of content I wasnt sure what I should add to make it extra special

No, don't bother with music. Everyone has such different tastes in music that it can be distracting or even off-putting. Foot guys are going to be PLENTY happy seeing your feet, it won't be boring to them at all!

I've used music in tease videos, but I credit the song and artist at some point or throughout the video. Not sure if that is the proper thing to do to be "legal."

Im gonna be real and honest with you ladies on using music. If you grab a song and use it in your videos without paying royalties for it or have permission from the copyright owner (musician, band, or record label) then you are breaking the law and committing a crime you could be sued or prosecuted for. There are no exceptions to this. Not to mention i'm sure you dont want someone stealing and using your work so why is it okay to do to them?

You can figure all you want you're just small time so it wont matter and that may be true but all it takes is ticking off the wrong person or the wrong person finding out and you're so fucked. You have no recourse if they do. Not worth it.

Yes youtube videos like OP said have been taken down but youtubers putting out those vids have also been sued or doing it. Yeah full on sued. They're all settled as far as I know but do not think that it wont happen to you too. It's only a matter of time. Also a lot of these musicians may not be very cool to know what you're doing with their music anyway. Not everyone is cool with porn man. And even if the band is the record label probably is not. And since most well known bands have a label who owns the bands shit they're who you really need to worry about anyway. And no major label I know of has ever said "Yeah sure you can take that song and not pay us for it but use it in a video people pay you for." It's not happening. The reason some songs are allowed on youtube is either cause the band/label put it there, the video is not monetized (the uploader isnt making money), the band/label hasnt seen it yet to take action, or the band/label monetized the video that someone else uploaded (popular option for people who do covers.) So by selling the vid yourself with someone elses music in it you took away the band/labels option to make money from that work and they do not take kindly to that.

So what do you do? Well you can skip music. Most dont like it anyway. You could pay royalties or try to but even if you had the money most will tell you no the second you tell them why you want it. You could just ask the band/label nicely but again they probably will just tell you no. You could try to find a small time band on youtube or something and get permission and you may have good luck with that as long as you agree to give them credit. Not to shabby a deal. You may even be able to request some styles or pieces from them if they're nice enough. Lastly you can just use commercially available non copyrighted music. It not only has to be copyright free but also free to use for commercial purposes since you're selling it. Something very hard to do especially if you're even slightly picky. Other than those there is not much you can do without stealing from someone else and it being fully legal. And Ruby just giving credit makes no difference, still theft and you are still liable for it. Sorry.

I agree with @SaffronBurke, I just wouldn't use music.

I make a lot of foot fetish clips, along with other fetish types, and I don't use any music in them. I haven't gotten any complaints about it. Many have told me they like to hear natural sounds during the video. If they really want to listen to music while watching your clip, they can just choose their own songs on their computer/ipod/etc!

Like @Teagan said, the only legal way to use music is to find non-copyrighted music that is approved for commercial use. Even then, you usually need to give credit to the owner, and make sure that the terms of use for the music doesn't change.

This is such great information! I'm now going to use royalty free music on all of my videos and re-make all the videos I have currently (good thing I don't have too many and video sales aren't really a big focus of mine). Better safe than sorry!

I used music in my older videos before I realized I really didn't need it. It seems a little annoying and not needed for masturbation videos. As it's already been said here before, dancing is the only time music makes sense and even then it isn't legal. If you're worried about a lack of music making it boring, remember why members are buying your videos. Not for a 'killer soundtrack'. They wanna see your cute feet! That should be the main focus.
