Hello everyone!

So- Last night was my very first night of camming! I’ve been doing phone stuff for sometime and decided to take the plunge because my understanding the money is much better. To get ready I was methodical in my preparation. I reviewed websites (chose Chaturbate), I watched other girls (practically taking notes), got a Logitech c930e web cam, personalized my profile, got my DMCA and even the lush toy configured to use.... Hair, make up, the whole shabang.

Then, my big moment?! I totally flopped. I was on two hours and didn’t get more than 13 visitors at a time and 154 tokens. It was more than nothing, but was a tad disheartened with the turn out. I think a lot of it had to do with me. I was nervous, moved the camera too much, and my lighting wasn’t as great. I’m going back on tonight but am much more nervous than before. I supposed I thought being listed as “new” would spring me forward.

Has anyone else had an experience like mine? I’m not asking for tips per say but the motivation and hope to keep at it.

For some it can take years to build an audience and start consistently making money.

It's also something you may just need to get good at. Some are great right away, some girls need time to improve their craft.

Or maybe you had tech issues you didn't realize were happening.

There are so many variables that can play a part in your night being a flop. Don't take it to heart and keep working hard to improve. I spent years of making almost nothing and then a year ago a cam girl friend took me under her wing and now this is my fulltime job.

check out the cam girl wiki https://www.camgirlwiki.com/

And most of all just keep logging on.

even the lush toy configured to use

I don't know if this topic has been discussed elsewhere, but personally with models I have not got to know, I find it impossible to tip or even stay in a models room when they use a lush toys. If I wanted no emotional connection porn, I'd go to a porn site. For a first time new model to start with a lush toy, seems really bizarre to me.

Is this a common perspective among viewers? I'm also having a very slow start as a new cammer and I have a Lush/Nora, but I also have conversations with viewers as much as possible. Recently, my experience has been that I am like 50% hanging out/dancing, 40% having random conversations, and 10% people actually tipping and making my Lush go off.

I would pretty much agree with @Puffin

I've never liked the lush toys myself.. ok maybe 5% of the time it's fun... but no more.. I usually tip just to be there or to interact so sometimes it's fun when the girl is surprised and doesn't see it coming. Oh and yes I'd want to get to know the lady first.

The problem is that there are so many lush girls that just sit there wanting to "be fed tokens"... some of there don't interact much at all. Some barely seem to move. They are "1 trick ponys".

Then at the other extreme some girls completely "over act" it seems. to me at least. They shake and scream and whatever but never seem to orgasm. Of course I don't know what shoving one of these inside me and making it vibrate feels like but I definitely think some girls overact the toy and are faking it.

Then there are others who try to use it and interact more to provide a balance and sometimes multiple guys or even 1 guy is just going token crazy... and maybe a guy is 500+ tokens in and she's just there "taking it" and rarely if ever gets to an orgasm... so to me it doesn't seem like a good value when you're getting into PVT or skype show price territory.

I like the idea if selling a guy 5 minute or whatever control... in public or for private shows... That's a great use of the toy to me. I've never done that myself though yet.

Just my opinions and impressions. Some guys clearly like playing with models with lush toys.

I'm not that big a fan of the token-activated devices. And when I visit a new cammer, I think it does prevent me from tipping as much as I might otherwise. I am likely to send a small (20 - 50) "welcome" tip to new women, and if I spend time chatting (and/or perving) there, the same amount or more every minute or two. But, if she's wearing a device, sending 20 - 50 tokens without warning is more mean than nice.

BUT, I think plenty of other viewers DO like the devices. I'm probably not typical. I DO like playing with the devices when I know the model. A couple of model-friends make a specialty of over-the-top reactions, and while it is plainly an act, it's a reeeelly good act. lol.

As for how to get off to a good start as a model, all I can say is what I've observed as a web-cam voyeurger. The new models who get the most viewers are the ones showing the most. I know it's giving away the goods, but it seems that's what guys look for when they scan the previews. The models with the most nudity/action have the most visitors.

Pure speculation on my part - but it may be worth showing for free for awhile to build a customer base - and build relationships by chatting it up in the room. You don't need to keep showing for free the whole time - put the clothes back on when you get a full room. They enjoyed what they saw, they'll want to see it again, but this time they have to pay.

Loads of guys love the tip toys too. Lots of them dont have time to stay a whole show, lterally want a little excitement and its a bit of fun. If you want to use the tip toy then use the tip toy.

As you came from phone sex do you think you may do better with one on one shows?

Yay! So happy you think so.

I recently purchased my first vibe and it can be smart phone controlled. I put the option to control it in private and public on my menu. No one has bitten yet although it excited! I have gotten people to ask if I had a tip controlled vibe. I do not like the Lush because of the weird pink string. After getting asked abt the tip toy & I looked them up a little more and wish I got the domi from lovesense. Ooh well. One day lol.

Hey Ariel,

I literally logged in here to write the same post as you already have! I have been lurking here for weeks reading everyones tips, so a huge thank you to everyone who contributes.

Ariel like you I have had a dismal start! I have been going for a week now (but work full time so only managed maybe 4 sessions of 1-3 hours) and I have 800 tokens in total! I feel like I've done everything I can and I'm just not getting guys in my room. I tried fully clothed, topless, naked, every single combination of those while dancing... also have the Lush... I've tried talking to people but the most I have ever had in my room has been 26 and most were anon so I was basically talking to myself.... I literally refuse to give up but just wanted you to know, you're not alone!

I have seen girls still with the "new" label gain 12,000 in their room so I guess that's what makes this feel a little disheartening.

Also really interested to hear anyones tips xxx

For starters, if you put your model names, links and online-times in your profiles here, I'd be happy to drop in and try to get a room conversation going and drop a few tokens.

I've visited a few different chatrooms of models from here. Always chat a bit and say "Hello" to fellow ACF'ers.

There is no formula. 2 models might start the same day, one I find appealing & the other not so much. For whatever reason the not so much skyrockets while as mentioned for the other it's a marathon.

You have to be careful of the sharks. These are people that look for new struggling models and they push & push & push you to d things you might not otherwise do for as cheap as possible. Then you are more or less stuck at that low level because others will arrive looking for the same stuff on the cheap and if they don't get it they'll leave. Be true to yourself and your coal, no amount of money is worth corrupting your morals for.

The lush and other remote toys (aka teledildonics) is a moot point, they are here to stay. Even if you develop a clientele in your room that prefers you without it it's a modern tool that you always have at your disposal if you want it.

Stick to what feels good for you. If you are comfy being nude from the time you log in go for it. Eventually, you'll make your own way and maybe not become a millionaire you'll probably be able to pay the bills and then some

Sorry, but I disagree with this idea that you "must get to know the model first" prior to tipping. That sounds kinda strange to me. As if you are putting unnecessary strings and restrictions on your tips. As I see it, if a model is using a toy... be it an ohmibod, lovense etc,... then it's "showtime" and if I choose to join the room at that time, I will always tip. No need for conversation or other distraction, I'll just assist with tipping and reward the model for her performance there and then. I don't need to know anything about her, other than what's on her profile to do that. Simples!;)

From my perspective... to visit rooms on MFC, catch a show even for a short time and NOT tip would be impossible for me. Tipping shouldn't require any emotional connection whatsoever.

:)

Agree with this.

Disagree.

Never had a model telling me I was mean tipping her without warning.

To original poster : I was online for two hours today before I made any tokens. But I stayed on for 6 more hours after that. And made $. Camming on tip based sites can be a lot of waiting till the right tippers come in your room. If you have more than two hours to put in, I would reccomend putting in as much time as you possibly can. If I could go back in time and tell that to myself as a new model I would! :) but I can’t so I’m telling you.

Is this a common perspective among viewers?

No, at least not for me. Quite the opposite actually. I'd say that 5-10 minutes suffice for me to get a feeling/vibe for the model and decide to tip/take the model pvt, or just leave the room. But I guess different sites, different cultures.

True, I never have either. But I've tipped a large amount to a couple of models when I didn't realize they had devices on, and though they thanked me, it was through clenched teeth. After they screamed and doubled over.
