I would post in the models only section but since I've been inactive for so long my verified-status got revoked. Sorry :(

I recently moved and in doing so got the opportunity to collaborate with other models/performers. I haven't done that before so I'm unsure how you go about it and would like some input from experienced performers. This is for clips/videos, and maybe photos and/or cam later on.

I know we'll both need to sign model release forms. But what else should I think about?
How do you usually handle the economics; just make/"own" some videos each and take the whole profit, or somehow split the profit?

Please do tell me everything, I'm lost! Feel free to send me a message if you don't want to post here, or contact me on twitter

I've been content trading for 6 years almost- I hosted the first ever clip retreat this year and I am constantly working with other models.

* Make sure she signs a model release form and you take pics of her ID and SAVE everything.

*Talk before hand about any limits and respect any and all limits a model has. Be professional/ on time :)

*As far as profits go -> I content trade (which most girls do) which means I shoot a clip for my store and she shoots one for her's. Normally in different categories so we both get fair trade in content. She keeps her sales, I keep mine. Simple.

*If your doing sexual stuff get tested, make sure she is tested. Safety first!

*For customs: If I get a custom I charge $20 per min for G/G with a 10 minute minumum - meaning she will get $10 per min and so won't I- this is industry standard rates as well.

*I've shot with close to 60 ladies and I've had 2 bad experiences- remember not everyone is going to work out and do NOT give up! I am super lucky to have been doing this this long and only have 2 issues (which weren't over the top huge ones)

As far as camming goes I will literally only cam with VERY few models and it's models I have a connection with - I think camming requires more of a relationship because your spending 5-10 hours on cam with someone and you NEED there to be chemistry. I've been camming with @BustyCass who I met on this lovely forum 5 years ago and she is literally 1 of the 3 models I will cam with and is my best friend; Camming with someone requires a TON of communication, making sure your camming styles match and you get along awesome. You do not want dudes seeing you fight or tension! Also I would HIGHLY suggest no drinking when camming with someone - you never know someone's limits. I've heard horror stories of girls camming and the other girl getting wasted on cam and not being able to perform.. This does happen (I'm not saying it will) I just want to give you my personal experience with camming with other models. For me content trading is less invasive and less time spent so even if your not 100 percent bestie's with the girl it's typically not an issue.

Everything Bianca said is spot on!

I personally find it easier to work with other models on clip/video related work. I would also agree that content trade is the easiest and probably the most profitable way to split up the content you will create together. You will probably have different goals and ideas about the content you want on your clip site, so make sure the other model is comfortable with your ideas and vice versa.

I would also recommend meeting models before you do any actual work together. If they are local or within close distance I find meeting up for coffee, lunch, or drinks is a wonderful place to get a feel for each other. It's also a way to break the ice, if your shy, anxious, or socially awkward like I am.

I also only have three people who I would do cam shows with. It's a requirement for me to have some type of connection with the model, not necessarily sexual chemistry, but I at least need to have similar camming styles with the other person. For instance if someone only cams from 12am-6am that might not work for me since I typically only cam in the morning/afternoon. I tend to be more of a dirty talker/ pornstar expierence so I probably wouldn't do to well with someone who only does femdom. I prefer to build friendships with models that I am going to cam with, I need to feel like I can trust them, and know that there won't be any drama between us.
Also I usually split money 50/50 with camming. However if you only are using one models cam account, I would subtract a percentage of it for tax purposes. I find it easier to cam on 1 models account, and then switch to the other model's account. This would need to be discussed beforehand.

For the most part I have had wonderful experiences working with other models. I've met my two best friends this way! As @BiancaBaker said, we met here on the ACF forum and we have an amazing friendship. My other great friend I met via twitter, she is also a cam girl and we also have a great relationship. Some people will become life long friends, others you may only have a professional relationship with. Both are great things to have!

Good luck!

Thank you so, so much for your replies!! :)

I'm meeting up with a performer soon to shoot some content, and tonight I'm meeting another performer to pick each others brains about collaborating :) So excited!

Depending on if you are set up as a scorp/llc you may could handle this another way. Lets say you cam on model A's account, model A would then write model B a check from there business account. Model A will still have to pay taxes on her share but will be able to use the amount she paid model B as a payroll deduction. Model B is now responsible for depositing her share and paying taxes on that.

Hi ladies! brand new! Great information and I'm very interested in this. I'm kind of part time in camming because im in school, but I think I'm doing pretty well so far on MFC. My cam score was in the 400's the other night. But I'd be so interested in meeting someone near me that would want to work together on a couple things! I think it would be tons of fun, but how do you find girls interested (especially since I block my state on MFC). ?
