I first became a member at MFC early in 2013. At the time camgirls faced considerable risk of arrest, prosecution and imprisonment under Article 301 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. A lot has changed in the years that have followed. Does anybody here know if that situation has changed?

Isn't it illegal to bring up the past there, Like ten years in prison?
I don't know about that. Article 301 deals with "Importation, making, sale or distribution of pornographic items" and has been used in the past to shut down studios and arrest independent models. Studios pay regular bribes to authorities for "protection" against arrest and have been known to turn in independents to cut down the competition and force independents to come to them for protection. At least that was the way it was when I first became aware of it. But there has been a proliferation of independent models lately, so I am wondering if there has been a change in enforcement practices.

Based on a few conversations I've had with models in Russia, Ukraine, and some other Eastern European countries over the past couple of months, the laws are still in effect in a number EE countries.. One model mentioned that another model she knows was recently locked up for modeling. She didn't get into specifics. Only that she's concerned about it as well, and she's making plans to get out of camming as soon as she can.

Yeah, jail must be pretty tough there. I knew a independent model in Kiev in 2013. We used to talk on Skype every now and then. She was early 20s but she looked like the was underaged. She got busted and when she got out on bail to raise money, I guess to pay a fine to keep out of prison, she looked like she had aged 20 years.

I used to get that Russian cable propaganda tv channel. Occasionally I would see a clip of them busting a studio. Girls standing half dressed out in the cold waiting to get hauled off to jail. I'm sure that it didn't happen too often because the studios usually paid their bribes. But sometimes somebody balked at a price increase or something and here would come the cops.

I also remember hearing that the studio bosses would often just let the girls rot in jail because they had no problem replacing them.
