The box set sits 5 feet away from me as I type this. The stories themselves are middling, but Gammell's illustrations are horror masterpieces.

I grew up with them! My mom thought they were "demonic", it was lovely. Finally got my hands on the original three and read the crap out of them until they fell apart. Loved the art work and plan to get a tattoo of some of it in the future.
There's a new documentary about the books coming out soon.
I'm a big fan of art and culture docs, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Yup. They were my favorite as a kid and are probably what kick started my fascination with horror. My half sleeve is from one of the books.
