Hentai was the first kind of porn that turned me on other than reading sexy fanfiction. It probably has a lot to do with my love of anime, and total pervertedness, but I love to watch it.
I really enjoy hentai that has an overarching plot, it's more fun to watch a story that has the occasional fappable scene, I find it way more entertaining.

I just think it's pointless and unnecessary to do something like that to a character in order to further develop another character. I'm huge into character development so it just bothered me that something like that had to happen just for one character to take charge, you know? Just seemed unnecessary considering.

Exactly, it definitely felt cheap and cheated. I agree, I like watching characters change. I feel like those sorts of events shouldn't be the only thing that stirs passion to move forward and grow. That's used so frequently in stories almost like the author didn't know what else to do to get the main character motivated to change themselves or develop.
