A Day in the Life!
MARCH 23, 2017 CAMSCAPADE.COM

Brought to you by CEO powered by Camscapade

Day 1

Okay, so why after 27 years in the film business does a 47 year old father of two technical engineer armed only with an MS in Biology decide to, create a business plan, hire a bunch of lawyers, spend his life savings, and then get others to put up enormous amounts of money to go into Live Cams? That’s right, either he is completely stupid (X) check that box, or he’s completely stupid (X) check that box twice!

WHY WOULD I DO THIS TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY?

The answer is very simple. I was watching CNN with a friend. The broadcast was about the adult entertainment industry. At the end of the broadcast, my friend sheepishly grinned and said, “dude, we just got free porn on CNN, we WIN!” Though I heard my friend loud and clear, his words were drowned out by the the statement I had just heard on the news of ” The Adult entertainment industry in the past year grossed 13 billion dollars, 1.9 Billion of that revenue is attributed to Live Streaming Cam based websites.” That not only got my attention, but has kept it up until this day.

I immediately went into action. How hard could it be? I’ve done web based businesses in the past. BOOM! I’m gonna be rich. Did I happen to mention that I’m writing this post curled in a small ball crying like a child ATM?

MOVING FOWRAD LETS GET IT DONE. VIVA LA CAM SITE!

I tapped into the all my learned knowledge, I pulled on everything my professors had taught me in grad school, an pooled it all into one heaping mass of ” I GOT THIS”! I googled it.
“How to start a Live Cam Site”, pretty crafty right!

I spent a few days web surfing, and a few more days, nights, weekends, commuting time, actually signing up for various sites to see how they work. Though I was very much entertained, and had discovered an awesome new way to look at beautiful women in my “me time”, the journey taught me very little, I had a good time, but very little knowledge gained.

I was off to the races. My Live Cam IQ was increasing exponentially. I’ll start small, there was was no way I would have the capital to compete with the big boys and girls in their respective sand boxes so I would fancy myself a boutique cam Site. I have a plan!

1) Get a web designer
2) Come up with a great way to separate myself from the rest
3) Advertise
4) RAKE IN THE CASH !

I feel that I should mention that I’m crying today with a snot bubble in my nose, and I now eat gum as a form of nutrition, and I am now that guy that smells like Koolaide and bad decisions . And why am I in this debilitated state? Well a few things I didn’t Know seem to pop up. And pop up again, and strangle, and slap, and gut punch, and laugh at me, and laugh at me, and laugh at me. In this post I will take you all through every single step that has brought my company to finally having a website . It’s not open, but its there, there is s reason for that.

Here is a very very very very short list I faced in my first week of starting a site.

– lawyers are expensive
– how do I open a bank account no one likes me!
– why am i a ” High risk business”?
– Whyy is the government auditing me all of a sudden!? I’m scared!
– 2257?
– awe man! I forgot ” I NEED PERFORMERS”!
– (x) check that box three times now
– and what the hell is a Bukakke?!!!

Anyway I hope people read this, if not I’m sure it will save me some money in therapy! Tune in tomorrow for DAY 2 when i will be making my song writing debut.

sneak peek —-

On the twelfth day of cam site my website gave to me

12 lawyers paying

As a customer let me tell you a few problems.

1. No SSL security on account creation.
2. The privacy policy isn't in English. I have no clue what you will do with my info.
3. The TOS covers your liability but offers no consumer protections from models scamming. Nothing to enforce a model's behavior is listed.
4. Your color scheme is a big "fuck you" to the color blind
5. Search function not visible on the front page.
6. Allowing customers to sort by price is probably a mistake.
7. Who's managing your ads? Good way to get a virus put on your landing page. Choose if you want money for customers or ads? One will chase away the other.

Just my two cents. Security needs to be take WAY more seriously a good regular on a cam site can spend hundred or thousands of dollars a week but need to know their info isn't at risk.

"Excessively degrading dialog or verbal abuse is not allowed."
Is this in regards to customers, or models? If it's for models, that could rule out a decent amount of fetish/domination shows.

The fact that your privacy policy isn't set in stone before you took the site live is concerning to me as a model.
I also agree with SMuser about the color scheme being an issue. I'm not color blind but it's pretty hard to look at anyways.
I'm not going to lie, as a model it's kinda disconcerting that you saw a CNN report about how much money the adult industry brings in and decided you wanted a piece of the pie. I've been camming like a year and a half? And just in that short period of time have seen a lot of site crash and burn (and in a fair amount of cases, leave people without money they earned) Especially since you seem like you're not super familiar with the industry, what sets you apart that a model should trust you/your site, especially since most of us have sites that we work that we're content with and bring in decent revenue?
Hopefully this doesn't sound too bitchy, but flip through the forums and see how many content/livecamming/whatever sites have come here and tried to get feedback and recruit models.

I'm assuming the site is yet to launch given that multiple pages say '© 2012 Camscapade'

Agree with all this.

As @TashaRose mentioned, one thing I have noticed over a pretty long period around the cam industry is that cam girls do NOT like men coming in and trying to get a wedge of their cash with no experience in the field just because they realise how much money they can get the girls to make for them "just by building a website". I don't want to be bitchy, you seem like a nice enough guy and I feel for you that you've got yourself into a situation. I guess it is partially as camgirls do not have pimps, nor do we want them. It is a job in which we can become independent. We generally work on known sites which are professional companies that have been in the industry for years. And realistically, as a model you are going to go where you'll earn the most and enjoy the most (though earnings usually correlate with enjoyment). You are also going to work on a site in which you know you'll be paid and isn't some dude who might run off, steal some of your income, act unprofessionally or even might not be trustworthy with sensitive personal details. Most sites I've seen coming up have crashed and burned, there have been many guys who've come on here advertising sites or trying to get models who have then turned into complete trolls.
Then again, every site started somewhere, and there is of course a market for new ones. Though it sounds like you are not someone who is particularly aware of the industry. I would recommend maybe trying to hire someone to help, preferably with decent modelling experience. But at least someone who understands the industry well and knows what models and members are looking for. Anyone can make a website, hire a few lawyers and check out cam models. Real experience and insight is what's valuable and would help you with your site, and not just a few answers on this forum post.

Not sure if this is just me, but this bit alone makes me not want to work on your site.

Then I go to your site....

Horrible layout, your banner makes it look like a high school computer class project, the amount of grammar errors makes it feel like you either aren't professional or don't know how to be professional and just the overall attitude surrounding what your website looks like just doesn't really appeal to me.

Also.... Where are the cams? Did I miss where the actual cam shows are? I saw... like 2 models? How do I interact with them?

I'm not sure if you're looking for feedback, giving really bad advice or trying to show off what "big accomplishment" you made doing something that, to be quite honest, isn't really great. :/

I'm not trying to sound rude, although it's probably coming off that way, but it doesn't look like you actually have much going on. I feel it would be helpful for ANYONE reading this to see the issues with your site and image before either you invest a lot of wasted money, like we have seen a lot of other sites do, another person tries doing the same mistakes you have, or a cam girl tries to get into your site and end up getting screwed because you don't have your stuff together.

Hi Tasha, just to clarify we are trying to build a sit for the performers. The site is on the internet however it is by no means active. It was only introduced to the web so that performers can access the software and let us know what they would like to see done with it to make it more comfortable for them. this will include what was delivered by our lawyer that is being amended with what we have gathered from premieres that they would like to see in a contract that involves their lively hood. All sites that I have seen early put out there what they want you to do, and just want you to follow their rules and regs. Thats why we posted ours early so that you could have a say in it. I can not stress enough that we want the performer involvement in building this site. I do appreciate your candor and have taken it to heart.

By all means this is why I am here on this site to obtain valuable input such as you have given in power to build a better mouse trap. And for reference in regards to my inexperience in the industry. Quite frankly no one starts anything having a wealth of experience, however if you surround yourself with those who have the know how and have some humility about what you are doing then there is never any harm in putting the best foot you can forward. That is the road I have taken and that is why I am here, to learn from those who do know, such as yourself.

Thanks For chiming and as always I truly appreciate your input it is well received.

Hi Tasha Rose,

thank you for chiming in here I really appreciate it. I will address each one of your concerns and hopefully shed some new light on the matter. I hope this puts you more at ease.

!. I'am not here to obtain Performers at this point. we are a very long way from opening the site. the site was published in it's "AS IS" state in order for us to accomplish a goal, that goal is to have a site built by the performers. We spent a great deal of time. money, and R&D in order to come to the conclusion that, what is needed is not another site that places demands on it's performers to follow their lead, they throw out their TOS without consulting the performers tat it actually effects the most./ So we put our up for amendments buy the performers to find out what the performers want in a TOS. Our lawyers are here in our office every day of the week and wen new changes come in they are vetted and implemented very quickly.

2. I can not predict the future but I hope that it will be better than crash and burn.

3. the truth is we are not trying to compete on the level of the larger more experienced sites. We are who we are, a boutique site that is members only.

4. no you don't sound to b*tchy, in fact I'm so happy that you were brave enough to speak you mind, that is the only reason I'm here.

I hope to hear from you soon again.

Hi there SMuser69,

Thank you for chiming in first of all. I see were I have made a grievous error on this site. On other sites usually the "Who am I portion of the signup process posts a little something by your name to say hello "I am". it was my fault not to have checked before I posted. And I see that it has caused a great deal of misunderstanding here. I am here to build a website for the performer. I am not soliciting performers to come to and render their services at my site what so ever.

The actual website doesn't not launch for quite some time. the site that you see now is only up for performers to see, and make suggestions on what they would like right down to the TOS. this is not a secure site, it is not a functioning site, and it is not meant for public use. it is only there for input from the performers side of the business.

Your suggestion in regards to the adds is on the table now with the company in regards to exactly what you have said. yes there are performers on our page right now who are actual Cam professionals, they signed up in order to vet the system from the performer side to let us know what they would like to see. the TOS is in amendment now being adjusted by the performers not the Company.

Color scheme agin by the performers not the company. What I'm trying to get at is that we take your input and try to do what we can so that when we do launch, partnership between us and the Performer and not what everyone else who just hands you what they want youth do with a totalitarian attitude of well if you don't like it you can leave. We don't want our partners to leave, so instead of saying " we will always listen to you and then" nothing happens we out it in the performers hands.

From this point on I will be put a pure disclaimer at the top of the post on this site that states " Not A Functioning site" This site is incomplete because we stopped building at a point were we could have the community come in and tell us what they like and don't like. Again The site is no where near Being functional. in fact we left the chip purchase open so you can freely have as many chips as you like for no charge, literally you can vet the entire site with chips for functionality, you cab sing up as anything you want and access it from any point to test it and look around for fixes or things you might want to see changed.

once again that you for chiming in, I look forward to speaking with you again.

Hi Luna Belle,

Please forgive me, but I am going to answer quite a few of your question by cutting and pasting what we thought was going out to all users before we posted Go to our site. Please read be;low.

We are a new Live Cam site opening in a few months that is being built by the performers. We have joined in on social media to listen to what you want to see on the site. Visit us at Camscapade.com and take a look around. Or hit our blog page at camscapaediary.blog

The website is there only for criticism, it is not a functional site. please feel free to sign up as a User to vet the site from all sides CHIPS are on US for the next few weeks.

So you see I wouldn't sign up for the site either. the models you see there are professional Live Cam Models that are there Vetting the site, but have decided to stick in there to see the project through. And for that we are truly grateful and honored that they believe in what we are trying to do here. So no, you didn't miss the page with the live models they just were not on at the time helping us design the site for the performers. I would like to extend the invitation to you again to visit the site, with the understanding that I'm not here to Solicit performers to join the Live Cam Site, I'm here offering an opportunity to build a site that you would like to see.

for chips just create a user account and buy all the chips you want they are free. have fun and I hope to hear from you soon.

And I do think we are doing something great, because the biggest problem that performers who have contacted me have is that they go to a site and they are just handed the rules and regs and if you don't agree then you can leave. We have chosen a different route, heck we even PUT up a TOS that is amended everyday to suit the performers so that they know they have a say in it.

I would however ask that you do participate in our Blog Page which is Vetted and running and for public view, Camscapadediary.blog

God Bless and I hope you keep sending creative suggestions our way.

P.S. I might copy and paste this and you will probably see it in answer to other posts, seems fitting because the criticisms seem to be pretty much the same as well.

Hi There,

I'm D.P. CEO of Camscapade.com. I have started this thread just in case someone out there wants to know what it takes to get a Live Streaming Cam Site up and running. Maybe you'll go screaming into the night, or say to yourself "I Got THIS!"

Either way check it out hope you enjoy, and ill answer any and all posts to the best of my ability.

@camscapade

Interesting that you use a cheap €5 virtual private server and I don't think your new or spent any money whatsoever.

Just a little digging shows all these sites on the same server and when looking at some of those sites, guess what ?
They are the same as your current site, just a different layout.

Although this guy's posts almost seem like a troll asking for it, I think he's not.

To be honest I feel like defending him a little because I've definitely had that same thought process, looking at how much money the execs at Streamate, Myfreecams, Chaturbate etc make, vs the smaller cut you get of the pie as an adult performer. I myself too dreamed of opening my own cam site, but settled for a whitelabel at the time due to wanting to still have time to pursue other passions.

I very much doubt it. Looking at his other sites over the last 5 years I'm just laughing.
He claims to have lawyers in everyday over TOS yet and this is a big yet he's using a known website script called modenacam which has not been updated in 3 years and his version he's using indicates its 6 years old.
This script has been floating around for years on the "nulled" sites.
He's a CEO of domain name, WOW !!!

Now I'm going out on a leg here but this has all the hallmarks of reading twitter feeds of camversity. " Camversity - a site for models by models" and thinking let's copy that idea.

I might be wrong about all this but I doubt it, way too many red flags that indicate this is a load of old claptrap

A DAY IN THE LIFE! DAY 2
March 23, 2017 ·

Brought to you by CEO power by Camscapade

Day 2

Well I would like to think I’m a man of my word. So as promised here is my song and along the way i’ll take you through the fist week of start my Live Cam Site!

This should be hummed along to the 12 days of Christmas, I will be coming up with a Hanukkah, Kwanza,Chinese new year, and Gay Pride jingle in the near future. As for the jingles I have left out, please hit me with a PM and what Culturally, gender inclusive, preferred PC song you would like me to write. I’m very open, and have way to much time on my hands waiting for my web designers to do anything they said they would! Sorry quick vent, told you this is therapy for me as well. But that’s another story that I will get to in the near future….web designers, sigh!

Here we go

THE 12 DAYS OF LIVE CAM @copyright pending.

On the 12th day of LIveCam my Website gave to me….

12 lawyers Keffetching (Yiddish for complain)

Okay so now I’m in the game, or at least I have entered the stadium the game is played in. So first things first gotta get a lawyer, or two, or there, wait I need and entire law firm to handle my business? What am I, Mc Donald’s?! Okay lets keep a positive attitude about this thing! No problem my “I GOT THIS” hat is still on.

So I needs this, so I’ll pay this. What do you mean I can’t just pay you? I need to put up a retainer ? Each one of you bills me separately?! How many of you are there? Are we talking middle earth Hobbits here? Oh sorry didn’t realize you had family in middle earth, my bad. Don’t mean to insult the lawyer reading this, but I really kinda do.

1 lawyer for contracts
1 lawyer for legal documents
1 lawyer for financial acuity – oh tax attorney, got it!
3 Lawyers for operating agreements
2 Lawyers for criminal. lets pause here and pour one out for those who can’t be here.
3 Law clerks that talk to me, and tell me it’s all going to be Okay and do you have another credit card this one seems to be blocked!
And one big ass $5000 dollars retainer! i got this? I mean I GOT THIS! i got this?

At this point most sane human being’s inner voice might chime in… ” Dave, yeah it’s me talking the inner voice that’s still afraid of your wife.” Yeah, hey whats up?! “So you’re uh thinking of spending up the old savings account to, uh, open a Live Cam Site, oh yeah, BY THE WAY, the most experience you have doing this comes by way of your “me time” with a national geographic magazine in the 70’s?” Yeah it’s gonna be great, I got the old I GOT THIS hat on man. “No, it’s gonna be the best! Cant wait for the ol wife to find out about this one, don’t let me stop you!” My inner voice lies sometimes. “Do you even know anyone in the Adult entertainment field, old frat buddy, someone on linkedin??” uh, nope “oh yeah, this is gonna be great! let me check that box for ya (X)!”

YOU MIGHT WANT TOP LISTEN TO THAT INNER VOICE EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE!

Before I can do anything apparently I have to get the overlords permission (The emanating attorney at the law firm I retained) D you remember the poster from the Tom Cruz movie ” The Firm”? Yeah thats kinda what they look like.

OKAY WE HAVE REPRESENTATION LETS MOVE FORWARD !

Oh great and powerful one Lord Head Lawyer Esq. Might I please Design a website? please?

NO!

Thank you for your kindness, I am truly not worthy of your benevolent words. But might your humble servant ask why I can not do the one thing that is the corner-stone of my business oh Great and Powerful One Esq.?

Because if you do, you will spend the rest of your days in jail, being cuddled by a a 270 man named Bubbles. and your grandchildren will never make enough money to pay off the lawsuits you will incur.

oooo…K? goooood talk?

What I had not realized at the time, is that the federal government in the United States loves to scrutinize site of this nature, right down to copy righted fonts and are you ready for this ? Who in the hell copy rights a color combination on a page! Ha Ha, they do, and we did! Crazy right, I know!

So what did we learn besides, yes you guessed it, I spent the savings on Attorney’s fees, and that we checked the “this guy must be stupid” box (X) once again BOOM!

Well Lawyers are a must don’t try this trick at home kids, or at least without parental supervision.

For every gut punch you take from your lawyer, its for a good reason and you should enjoy the pain. The more suffering you feel that just means the further you take your company and yourself away from law suits, and giving bubbles a blowjob. (no I don’t have bubbles number, don’t ask)

I hope that you are enjoying this post as much as I am enjoying writing it. This is how I close out my day at the office each day. Tune in tomorrow for the 11th day of Live Cam song.

sneak peak…..

On the 11th day of Live Cam my website gave to me.

11 wives, your busted!

P.s. I don’t actually have 11 wives just 1, but when your wife finds out you have drained the savings to open a lIve Cam Site, it sure feels like you’re talking an ass whipping from about 11 people!

If you like this post please LIKE US! its s little thumb at the top right click it!

See you tomorrow!

Best,

Thank you, you are the first positive words said here to me. I really appreciate it. it's so very easy to throw stones, and so very difficult to say something in kind. Thank you for making that effort. I am on quite a few forum pages for adult entertainment, overall, everyone has been very inviting and friendly. Here it seems that its very difficult to make friends. So agin I thank you for your kind words.

I just want to say three things:
  1. Based on your avatar, you seem to have confused the terms escape and escapade.
  2. Mt. Cam Site sounds amazing.
  3. mtcamsite.com is an available domain name. (Though that does read as "empty cam site", which may actually make for a rather prescient thread title.)

Just a tip for your own well being...

This site favors members of cam sites, and models of cam sites, and their interactions with each other.
Generally, if you don't really fit into either category and your first few posts are promoting your adult business, you'll get given a hard time. If it was easy for everyone to promote their business here, generally it would just be an overflow of adult advertising and not the forum that Amber intended it to be.

Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't continue with your updates here - I think it's doing the opposite of what you want for your business. Your most recent one, the "A Day in a Life" - the way you've written it... I don't think this is your audience for that kind of writing. Unless you are actually an internet troll and this is all a farce. This is coming from a professional writer.

But good luck, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't succeed.
