I found a bizarre C4S related subreddit

You're still posting it as media. Go to the page you want to share, click in the address bar, copy the link, then paste it here.
 
Maybe you're linking a comments thread and I'm linking a subreddit (you described yours as a subreddit so thus I posted one)...

edit: yep comments threads aren't linking properly. Noted.

edit 2: seems reddit itself is having issues. Maybe try again another time.
 
I don't get how the /r/needadvice subreddit would be considered Bizarre?

You can right click Guy's link and copy link address and it will paste correctly in your browser if you really feel like you're missing out.

I don't think it's thaaaat weird of a thought since MFC takes it, and non-camming folk probably don't know about Paypal's weirdness. But I don't know that his situation warrants a whole reddit post rather than just emailing C4S and asking if they take prepaid cards (or just buying one and trying it).

In the comments, he doesn't seem to have previously been aware of prepaid cards. Not sure how, I kinda thought everyone knew about them, since they're staring you in the face when you're in the checkout line at a lot of stores.

do banks in [country in question] not offer debit visa/debit mastercard so you can make online purchases without a line of credit?
ideally, you'd want a separate account with no overdraft for this, and transfer no more money into it than you need for your purchase, since you don't know what dubious Chinese paysite it might go through.

He's over drafted three bank accounts and can't get a new one, so he can't have a debit card. He also apparently didn't know that prepaid cards exist.

How the fuck could he have not have seen a Green Dot card at gas station? If he would have set up an account with them, it would have solved all of his problems.

Right, they're staring you in the face while you pay. Maybe he's just not very aware of his surroundings? Shockingly so.

I don't know if I've ever seen a Green dot card...but I also don't go inside at gas stations pretty much ever.
