It is great to talk with you all again. I am considering a return to camming and i am not sure if it is the right thing to do. I am a PSO right now and whereas that pays the bills, it doesnt allow me much money to have any fun with. Plus one of my bosses is mega crazy and i need to quit before i cuss her out. Anyway, when i did cam, i liked some aspect of it but i never did it long enough to make a following. If i do decide to return to camming, here is my current setup:

Basic Computer(Dell 620)
Logitech 920 webcam
2 tiny lamps
an extension cord that i brought yesterday.
Comcast internet
1 vibrator
A half of bottle of lube
3 pieces of lingerie(one that is damn near broke)
I got a little bit of makeup

I am not sure if any of this is going to help me get some money. I plan to obviously improve things if this camming thing takes off but this stuff is what i am working with for right now. I am just worried that it is not enough. I am also worried about another thing. Can black bbw's really make bank in this business?

I got a good personality. I am real polite. I know not to go on cam completely raggedy. I just wonder if my skin color is going to be a factor in whether i make money or not in this business. You could also sign up on Niteflirt and take calls there, and they are working on adding texting there as well. The more income streams you have, the easier it is if one of them hits a slump.

This was AMAZING advice! I've dabbled in camming before but never stuck with it, but with info like this I feel way more confident in pursuing it than before. I personally prefer Streamate, as do many other BBW's. Of the existing camsites, it's the most friendly to models outside of the "norm" that tends to succeed best on MFC or Chaturbate. I rarely get trolls, but when I do, I have a three-strike policy before banning for annoyances, and insta-ban major offences. If you're interested in clips/videos, Clips4Sale is best for pretty much all performers - even though the site DOES look like it never left the 90's, the paying traffic on-site is phenomenal.

There have been nights on streamate I've made nothing or $5. They will pop in and out of your room constantly. I see the same usernames do it night after night. My advice I can give you is that its been slow and can be slow for white and black models both. It takes some time and creativity. Most importantly continue to be yourself. I was exactly that a few years back. Skinny little white girl (I was really kind though, always smiled and shit) And I still had to work my ass off for the 35 an hour (during peak hours), while models around me were banking literally 80-150 an hour (during regular hours). I always had like 20 people in my room, but they were always "Hey bb, you wanna pretend to be my 5 year old daughter" or "Hey, wanna moan for daddy?" Pretty yuck.

I had to fuck myself till I was exhausted and I couldn't work for a few days to make that too. It was brutal. Some days were so quiet I wanted to cry. I thought there had to be something wrong with me.

Don't lose faith in the industry, girl. I can't say much speak much to marketing as a BBW, but I'm clearly black lol and I'd definitely consider myself on the MUCH curvier side -- 100% not a skinny white girl hahaha. SM is my main camsite as well and I totally understand your frustrations, but like others have said, it really does just come down to marketing and embracing your image.

I entered the cam scene with apprehensions about my body type and how well it would be received; I've got stretch marks, curves that aren't curves, and some lovely cellulite that just can't get enough of my thighs, apparently. But I knew I'd never be successful no matter what if I didn't pretend it didn't bother me. My very first shows were heavily based on faking it 'till I made it, but much sooner than later, I realized that my body was super hot and my skin tone only made it hotter, so that became a non-issue. Long story short, I try to make sure that confidence shines through or I simply don't log on. And my room is a revolving door of in-n-outs as well, especially since I don't really offer a free chat "show;" all of the good stuff happens in exclusive and that's been working well for me.

I've seen black BBW's make a killing on SM and I only assume so because when I lurk, they're always in exclusive/premium chat and have excellent placement when I see them online.
