I've noticed recently that a lot of models are having trouble making countdowns they would normally.
Nearly all the models I follow on twitter have tweeted that they've had "another" crap day on MFC at some point in the past few weeks.

Well, thought I'd bring this up as a relevant topic.

Maybe us pervs are saving for xmas or maybe the global recession is really starting to bite and we just can't budget for perving.
Maybe the camgirl market has been saturated by models.

I hope the models can take a little comfort that it isn't that they've suddenly become boring or ugly.

this was a kind post to make. Thank you :) I've had a bumpy ride the last few days but I'm about to do an awesome show at a coffee shop so hopefully it will be fun and generate more teeps.

I think Mark is mostly correct. In my experience, all "retail" businesses (where money changes hands between a customer and a vendor) have "seasonal" ups & downs. Maybe the economy is playing a part, maybe it's the upcoming holidays.

This next item doesn't apply to me, but I'll bring it up anyway. When my favorite cam-model is not on, I'll usually go to the lounge to see if anyone "interesting" is online. About a week ago, out of about 20 rooms I saw, there were 4 public anal shows going on. I'm not here to point fingers or name names, but with that kind of choice and others available for "free", it is no surprise that some girls might have occasional problems completing a countdown. Most models do have their regulars, but I'm pretty sure some need a few randoms to chip in.

I don't have an answer for that.

Yea and it seems like everyone is trying to cut back on anything just so they can spend a bit on x-mas, also given the fact most people still don't know if they are going to have a job tomorrow. I got lucky and got a good job that I know will be there, sad thing is for too many people just saying they got a job would be a great x-mas gift. I have also hear that some states are running out of money so people on unemployment are going to start getting dropped and people on disability or welfare are getting cut back what they can make.

Yeah, things are tight for a lot of us. I'm only guessing, but from what I can tell, a given Miss MFC rank today represents fewer tokens taken in than the same rank did even last year. In my case, business is poor and our annual bonuses were cancelled. That represents a good deal of "fun money", and means I won't be taking a vacation anytime soon. I read somewhere that "having a job is the new raise", and that holds true for a lot of us salaried and hourly workers.

I have explained my situation to my favourites and they told me that it doesn't matter, and that I am still welcome. That's very sweet of them, but I don't feel comfortable taking their time and not contributing. As a result, I spend less time on MFC these days. :violin: I only hope that things will turn around soon, and that we'll all be prospering again.

I know where you're going with this, Sev, but I do want to chime in and say that the ranks in Miss MFC are taking MORE tokens now than they were a year ago. To put it in perspective, OctAmber 2011 (rank 6 Miss MFC) ended with me having more tokens than I had in MegaMay 2010 (rank 3 Miss MFC) and it blew my freakin' mind. The amount of members AND models is going up on the site overall, which means a crazy amount of tokens being thrown around as well as more models around to take them. The distribution is probably different and thus a lot of girls are feeling the impact, but I think those top ranks are just as fruitful, if not more according to my stats, than previously.

To be bluntly honest... it's one of the oldest professions in the world. Technology has just made it more available and cyber sex is way safer for both parties.

Funny; the only STDs I've ever caught were computer viruses.

I think there is also something else to really consider too. Prices. As in that the models charge. Particularly inflation in the past 14 months.
Please, someone tell me if my memory is borked... but I don't remember models asking for 4k+ tokens for a show July last year (as in July 2010).

I do remember when a 2k+ topic was a BIG topic.
Crazysysy used to do 2k til shower show type affairs.

Now - I see some models with 1600+ camscores trying to ask for 2k tokens for a show.
I see girls asking for 5k+ to do a show.
Now it is normal.

While it could be that guys don't have as much to spend, the recession bites etc - it could also be that show prices have reached the ceiling (as they outpaced spending power of members). Meanwhile, my favourite camgirl has doubled her camsore in the past month. Her prices haven't changed.
So if you're struggling to hit topics, maybe consider if you're overpricing yourself too? I mean, are you making more now than last year? I think that'd be a fair indicator of what the actual issue is! :) If the "top" models are taking twice as much per show, and huge groups, then there are less tokens to go around - but not less tokens overall

Just a thought, but please correct me if you disagree.
