This is an interesting thought. I've noticed from stalking other models and looking at cam schedules that a lot of the really popular and more successful ones (with tens of thousands of followers) only stream 3-4 days a week for an average of 3 hours.

However this is correlative data. My assumption was that they've reached a point where they have enough of a reliable fanbase that they don't need to grind the same way a newer model would, but now I'm wondering if there might be something to this.

I don't know if this works for newbies ... my first couple years being on more helped, but it's absolutely true now. I cam so very little but when I log on they're ready. I dropped to 3..2...1 day a week and still did very well.

Since camming is only about 50% of my total income now, it has allowed me to move down to part time camming. Over the years some of my best money camming days were during the time I cammed 2-4 days a week and 2-3 hrs those days. I always tell people in my cam room that if they are considering entering into a private session to not hesitate as there is no guarantee for the next time I will be live. This has worked well for me being on Streamate, not sure if I could manage less camming time if I were on token based site.

I currently stream 3-4 hours every 2nd night. I'm doing well. I've never been on more than about 3 nights a week max. This is actually more for me than I've ever done on the regular, except my first year. I'm Streamate though, not any token sites. My new thing is if I want to cam more sticking to 3 or 4 nights a week only, but longer shifts those nights. Working well so far.

@GraysonDrake This is how I feel it went for me. I think your assumption is correct.

this is my experience now. super glad i worked really hard building up my reputation, confidence, and audience to where it's gotten pretty damn easy because . everyone is super excited to see me and wants to get a show because they don't know when I'll be on next and if they wait, they might miss me because i get flooded with shows requests. i'm so freaking elusive, that i don't know if its helping or hindering.

i do fear that i'll lose that momentum and popularity, so trying to get myself back on somewhat of a consistent schedule.

I agree. (Cam dude speakin here lol)

Maximize your time. Sitting there all day and making nothing or some days a decent.... Its a time investment thing.

Thats time could be used in other ways
yes because i do porn movies too and i like camming, but i dont have the time and the nerves to sit there for hours for nothing, that will not mean i want too much, but you all know , living cost :)

This is what I am aiming for, or actually doing. I have RL SW, another occupation, and a few other things in life I am commited to (including my own development/self-care etc).

During lock-down I could stream long hours, many days a week, now RL and actual hard income will take priority. That does not mean I do not take cam seriously, however I am noticing personal physical differences as a result of less cam work. My body feels 'freer' and my eyes no longer feel as if they are burning.

I do notice I bit of awkwardness but I try to 'leap' on it, get on cam, see what happens. Another problem is sometimes regulars all come in at once, all want me, are frustrated when someone takes me private - when in premium I can see them pop in and out of the free chat which I do smile at.

A few nights ago I had a choice, go back on cam after going to do something else important, or go to the gym. I went to the gym which had a great effect on me, got back to find one platform (a main one) had been off for those hours. Definitely right choice. Finally if something changes in my RL life work or play, then I know I can get on cam and 'see what happens'.

Like the old saying goes "Always leave em wanting more"

Lately my goal is to do 4 dedicated cam shows weekly mostly with friends and thats it. Makes em want more plus leaves more free time for your day.

A good way to look at camming is its like. better than working a second 30hrs/week for $10.

If you're streaming on chaturbate.. I know that a lot of bigger models had a phase where they really (daily) grinded to where they are now, because it isn't just about hourly income, but also about (active) follower growth on there..

If I could I would 100% do a few months of daily streaming just to give things a "push" but my body doesn't allow that for me at the moment. Right now I'm lucky if I can get on for 2 or 3 times a week. Still doing ok-ish though, so glad that camming allows for me to not feel healthy & be able to have income, but I do worry about losing momentum & dropping in viewers over time because of this. (From my experience being gone for longer does NOT have a positive impact on tokens earned)

Important thing to note though: from a (random) viewers perspective that don't know you well yet it's more important to have a couple of "good" shows per week vs being on all week but not doing "interesting" things for the majority of that. So often times I think it's better overall to stream less but try to have more effective/awesome/interesting streams & be able to give it your all during those. Ideal would be that type of streams all day every day but that's usually impossible or very unhealthy (or only sustainable in short term).

[Sidenote: this is all from my perspective: I don't do privates & I stream on chaturbate, 100% will be different for other types of shows & sites]

A big takeaway here is that most of us who can comfortably go from full time to part time camming is building up a brand and reputation. We all started by putting in 30+ HR cam weeks. The shorter and less camming weeks will benefit those who have some experience already and are diversifying streams of income. For those starting out, it's best to get those hours in to make a name for yourself on the cam site.

Some really good input here. These threads are so needed

When I first began camming I would do 2 hours 2x/day and that was on top of my reg job. Gain 50+ per day My token stats were high but omg that gets exhausting. Like little said though thats what it takes in the beginning to get ur fanbase.
