What are your thoughts?

I think these are cute little things to write about and laugh about but I'm wary of putting members into boxes.
That is a valid perspective. Some people are more on the structured side of life and like categories to organize our world in. Others are more un-structured and prefer not to be put in boxes. The truth lies in the middle somewhere.

Two thoughts: You're overthinking this (agreeing w/Miss_Lollipop here); and as a member, this preoccupation with other members may lead to less (site) enjoyment for you.

Just my opinion, and I could be way off base in my assessment ;)

These are definitely some of the types I've seen before, but I try to be careful to evaluate everyone as an individual with a unique perspective, you know?

I think that we all are different according to who what where and when. there are different aspects to all our personalities brought out by different factors and its all about what the member is to you, and what you bring out in each other.

You're missing the player. The one who is a player on cams just like in real life. He is usually decently attractive, has a good sense of humor and has a good job so he can tip when he wants to. His skills with picking up ladies in real life come in handy when making interesting conversations with models. Usually married or has a girlfriend in real life.

The thing about this, is that members don't necessarily stay one type. I've been different types during the course of a single perving session.

I definitely identify with this. I chat too much in some rooms, but sometimes if the model pms me in a new room I'm in, I just leave (I don't know why). I usually respond better if she says hi in public chat though.

I think its fun! And it can be interesting to categorize, as well as highly informative and helpful for evaluation of large numbers. I think paying attention to how people interact is highly interesting, but I LOVE social psychology, so thats me.

We are ALL individuals, and we are also all interconnected, and with that there is something to be noted about the importance of psychology and trends.
It is by no means absolute, and we all have the power to change at any given moment, as well as live fluidly between the categories :joyful:

There are so many people, and nobody is exactly the same as anybody else. The differences may be tiny, but that doesn't make them minor.

Thus, any time someone makes categories, there needs to be an "other" category. The one where people who don't fit in any of the other categories can go. There also needs to be allowed flexibility for one person to fit multiple categories, maybe all at once, maybe alternating between them.

Let's make this simple. Biological sex. The reproductive sex you were assigned at birth. Humans have male, female, hermaphrodite, and neuter. Neuter is for those who have none of the reproductive characteristics of either sex. Hermaphrodite is for those who have reproductive characteristics of both sexes. Neuter and Hermaphrodite are the "other" categories of Biological Sex. (I am differentiating this from Gender, which is the sex a person feels they should have had)

Please share more how the room helper is annoying ?
I think that may be an inside joke based on some recent posts around here.

I agree I've been multiple types at the same time.

This thread has gotten me thinking about who would be your "ideal" member? I think it depends on the model and room, but sometimes I wonder if I would just prefer a member who just tips regularly, especially offline, but limits his/her interaction. It would be a maximum value for your investment scenario. Again, I am sure I would get many different responses because people cam and enjoy camming for different reasons.

Okay list Mr Swoob. I like Amber Cutie's list as it links better with common model vernacular. Both miss some of the more playful types of tipper, both positive and negative. It is fun though to try to categorize things, see to what extent it fits our experiences.

I think you will find that most members are different categories with different models. Categorizing models by the tips or attention they tend to attract may be far more useful. I'll try to give a few model types I have seen below...

Example 1: The 'Entertainer' will attract contributors, chatters and regulars, tipping towards a countdown with some purchasing of content. Members looking to spend on exclusive time, and those not able to find their place within the room will be excluded. The workload for the model is high, the reward is long term stability so long as the entertainment level can be sustained.
Example 2: The 'Angel' (beautiful inside and out) will attract all types of member, tipping towards a countdown, taking group or exclusive time, buying content, or just sending the model gifts/ tokens. This lucky group get to pick and choose how they want to spend their time on, with all options being equally rewarding.
Example 3: The 'Experienced Woman' will attract contributors and regulars chasing private time. They are excellent private as they know themselves well. They are usually quite busy I.R.L, so are only really interested in serious spenders. Over time you can get to know this type of model very well.
Example 4: The 'Worker' will attract all type of member. Often without any plan she will sit there for hours and often to very little reward. Most take really good care of their appearance, and will try really hard to please the member spending on them. The hours can make them frustrated and not so much fun to visit/ revisit. Those models who do better develop a really good/ reliable group of regulars.
Example 5: The 'Hustler' will play at another type to be spent on. The member does all the work and she collects the reward. For experienced members they are very entertaining to mess around with, for inexperienced members dangerous. Hustlers can be really good at reflecting a fantasy.
Example 6: The 'Man's Type Woman' will attract men as friends. They are usually very pretty but don't dress it up much, generous with their sexuality, fun to be around, and with a great sense of humor. They can turn spending members off, or alternatively be very well supported.

I can think of a few more such as 'very feminine' models, 'innocent/ sweetheart' models , 'models with language problems', 'exhibitionists' and so on. My point was which of these is likely to be trolled, which attracts chatters, regulars, sweethearts, and so on? The same member may behave quite differently and look for very different experiences in each type of model's room.

This I think is a really good summary of model types. The funny thing though is the one I think is most dangerous to members is one of the ones you mentioned in your last paragraph but didnt have a write up for, the "innovent/sweetheart" models. From my experience on MFC, a lot of members seem to be susceptible to this kind of model. In most of the the biggest cases I know of where users were manipulated by models, the model played the innocent/sweetheart role

Was just reading another model list of members :Troll, BB Guy, Social Guy, Stalker, Whale, Capper, Fapper, Silent Guy.

The subsection on stalkers was particularly well done, and worth a look. Categories of stalker are pasted below;
  • Rejected stalkers pursue their victims in order to reverse, correct, or avenge a rejection (usually when the model stops paying attention to them).
  • Resentful stalkers pursue a vendetta because of a sense of grievance against the victims – motivated mainly by the desire to frighten and distress the model. These are usually the guys that love to post personal information online.
  • Intimacy seekers seek to establish an intimate, loving relationship with their victim aka the model. Such stalkers often believe that the victim is a long-sought-after soul mate, and they were ‘meant’ to be together. This is a form of obsessive “love”
  • Incompetent suitors, despite poor social or courting skills, they have a fixation or a sense of entitlement to an intimate relationship with those who have attracted their amorous interest.
  • Predatory stalkers spy on the victim in order to prepare and plan an attack in real life – often sexual – on the victim. These are the worst types but fortunately very rare.

[edit/ addition]:
Kicka's member list mentioned some talk of personality disorders, adding to this for anyone interested/ curious...there is a very good book by Pamela Stephenson Connolly (Comedian Billy Connolly's wife), called 'Head Case', which has easy to read sections on how those with such disorders actually interact with others/ how to spot each condition for non-psychologists.
