So, on June 16th 2021, I read a tweet from The_Greg1 where he stated that " Dear mfc members, according to a change in the wiki for the billing yesterday, epoch, a payment processor for PayPal for example has been removed as payment processor for buying tokens."

I logged into MFC, tried to buy tokens and lo and behold, I could not buy them anymore as Epoch was indeed no longer an option in the token purchase menu.

Now since Epoch as of this writing still is an option on Chaturbate and Streamate, I do not think they have withdrawn from being a payment handler on pornsites so... any idea what happened there?

This means that we're back to the beginning of the century with MFC in that you can only buy tokens if you have a credit card :( And as I do not have one and with me, millions of Europeans do not have a credit card either, I can not purchase tokens (hopefully until further notice),

Now why didn't MFC send out a mail or statement or message about this? What if I had scheduled a private session or skype or something and were suddenly unable to pay due to forces outside my control?
And just as importantly: why don't we have even the slightest of clues that they are working on this?

Sure, you can ask support but this is one instance where I should not have to beg to MFC to allow me to somehow purchase tokens when I had a pretty good means to do so and it has been taken away from me.

well I've just had 10 of my members tell me they can no longer buy tokens.

so this makes me even less keen to get back on cam. I can imagine this will have some pretty big ripples.
Were they all depending on paypal because they don't have credit cards? Because there are still 3 other options for CC payments.

I think a lot of people are reluctant to use their credit card directly on cam sites, and I'm assuming if you load money on your paypal you don't have the charges show up on your credit card?

yeah i guess so. One told me he used 'paysafe' and doesn't have a debit or cc. I know that sounds wild here but like in nz everyone uses a card called "eftpos' which works like a debit card but doesn't allow online transactions. Another one told me he doesn't feel safe using any others. And someone else said the only other workable option for him was the bank transfer but its $300 minimum. The others haven't told me more other than they'll need to find other options but I suspect either they don't have a card of any kind or they dont like using it for privacy or safety reasons

I have plenty of credit cards but I will exclusively use PayPal for online purchases. This would seriously deter me from buying tokens again and they really should look into resolving this. I know I am not in the minority on this.

Myfreecams was one of the first porn sites that actually allowed me to buy porn without a credit card. That is why I became a member in the first place. Sadly a lot has changed since 2012. Apart from whether I can pay now (I can't ), I doubt I would even want to be a member now. Every other site does allow my preferred method of payments... so why stay at MFC?

I guess I'm just surprised that anyone is... surprised, I guess, that PayPal could have finally realized that Epoch was allowing transactions they don't like.

I know it sucks if we have members who were depending on it, but some of us are the biggest shouters of "Cam models, never use PayPal for anything!" Because we know how anti-Porn they are.

I would imagine that in time other sites may be affected by the same thing/reason that's causing MFC to have to stop allowing it.

At this moment in time, Chaturbate even accepts iDeal without Epoch. iDeal is the online banking platform created by Dutch banks. They know where this money goes and are OK with that so... even if CB parted with Epoch, I would still be able to pay for my porn there.

Epoch was doing this with the full cooperation of Paypal. It started as "an experiment" and I never heard that it was upgraded to regular. I guess the experiment is over.
Paypal Europe (which is registered as a bank in the EU) has always beem less anti-adult than Paypal USA.

The US in general has always been more anti-adult in lots of things compared to EU. We cant shake off our puritanical roots fully.

If PayPal was the source of the problem, how come CB has it as a payment method to purchase tokens? Not giving members ways to spend their money is a veiled way to tell them you don't want it... So no surprise they will tell "good riddance" and move on.

We don't know if Paypal had anything to do with it. Just that paypal transactions where handled by them and now it's gone because they left. It could be for many reason. Epoch still bills for SM but Paypal has never been offered there. At the same time, they might just be switch over to whatever inhouse system onlyfans is using. Personally I wish onlyfans didn't show up on my account summary as onlyfans though.

I had read that, doubt it, but time will tell.
Even if that happens, Cb, while being a mess themselves, at least they have the option to pay with crypto. No chargebacks on that.
What I know, as a fact, is that MFC told me in 2019 (not in these words) that my money stink for them...

I certainly hope not. I use PayPal exclusively on CB and would likely just stop buying tokens altogether if this happens. Time will tell, but it really irritates me that the morality police have to try and tell everyone else how they spend their money and force these kinds of things to go away.

Not sure why you'd doubt it.

Yes that's great for people who want alternative payment methods. One of the handful of things they do right, aye?

Can we see the screenshot of them telling you they didn't want your money?

I totally agree, PayPal being such a huge and easy to use transaction platform, and having them be SO completely against anything naked-related is really shitty.

There was probably a contract that ended, and PayPal didn't want to keep going. If they ended with MFC then it's safe to say other sites may follow in suite.

But if you don't dudes don't want to use credit cards or banking transfers, get a reloadable visa gift card. I know those cards work on streamate.

Just an opinion based on the fact that they have always been "porn-shy" so no way they needed so long to discover how is MFC making money. I have no problem if the time will prove me wrong.

Hmmm... it was TWO years ago... I don't care anymore.

lol yeah MFC isn't available in most regions. same with chaturbate and every other camsite out there. they too aren't available in most regions for reasons. those reasons may be countries' laws or regulations, or lots of fraudulent activity coming from those regions.

I know. Good for them
Funny!
.
Same as Streamate, they have no problem making money with many models from this country.
As for me, i did my spending on CB, they had no problem taking money from my CC .
Happy end for everybody.

As for me, back then i said "good riddance" and did my spending on CB, they had no problem taking money from my CC .

if you know, then what's the point of posting that "proof" lol. everysite operates and handles business differently and that's quite alright.

I asked because just as I suspected he was not in fact told they did not want his money. He was told the site is not available to his region. Much less dramatic than as was suggested.

What about Segpay, Payze and CCBill to name but a few ? Payment processing, unlike payout solutions, are numerous in our vertical. I know this because I was negotiating a deal for the French dorks with the crappy camsite back in the day:)

My exact phrasing was "What I know, as a fact, is that MFC told me in 2019 (not in these words) that my money stink for them..." Meaning it was the way I read their reply.

When they have plenty of models from this country and freeloaders can lurk the site without needing a VPN (so no "laws or regulations" raising a problem), and my CC works on other sites (btw OnlyFans is also among them, to address the potential "fraudulent activity coming from those regions") then the only way I could read that reply is "we don't want your money". And I'm fine not giving them any, the reason for trying to buy their tokens back then is no longer valid.
