Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere so I thought I'd start a thread.

If you don't have Flash installed/enabled then MFC and CamYou now stream video on their desktop sites.
They seem to be using Shaka Player, and as the mobile site uses HLS i assume it is still the underlying format.

Video quality isn't as sharp and there is still a lot more latency than Flash, so (like mobile) Groups/Privates are currently disabled.

Hopefully that will help some of the members that had trouble streaming. I hadn't heard about that so thanks for the thread.

I am not the most nitty-gritty tech person, but for me, MFC has not used flash in months. Like 5-6 months. This started after I moved on to Windows 10 and *after* a Chrome update installed a few days later (I can get the exact date). There is a little icon in the address bar that says "plug-in disabled", and if I try to enable flash, the video won't load.

Personally, I hate it. The video quality is not as good, and whenever I click on another MFC link (whiteboard, Miss MFC, tip, etc) the video freezes. Multiple tips in a row really suck (for me). It's worse on Cam You. I realize that bugs need to be worked out, and I'll try to be patient, but the non-flash video is very disappointing so far.

Before anyone suggests Edge or Firefox, neither one is "better", or even good enough for me to use on a regular basis.

As much as I want to be excited for MFC, I'm not.

Their competitors are already offering 1080 at 60 FPS and 4k at 30 FPS.
While also offering all gender, and couples.

I don't disagree with you from the technical perspective. But I've not found another site that seems as relaxed and comfortable as MFC.

Following @schlmoe I did whatever update to chrome that requires you to have to enable the flash. And in turn it just takes forever to get MFC to load. Some occasions I have to refresh multiple times to get it to finally cooperate. And even then it becomes laggy.

I can get it to run well on Firefox and Opera, but I prefer to watch in chrome out of habit
