MFC is messing with my head. It needs a personal link to work; otherwise video porn could be more appealing. When I connect with a model, I support steadily but modestly for income reasons.

I stay in touch offline and support with tips and talk when they have low periods of tipping or life. They do appreciate this and even say I am a reliable friend. But whenever a new “whale” comes along, my tips are so dwarfed that I feel set aside in the new excitement.

Sometimes the whales go and they turn back to me, but it’s an odd and depressing connection. Do other members see this and how have the dealt with it? Would other Cam sites be different or is this pattern similar everywhere?

So if you follow popular models, and you make modest tips, you probably are not hugely important to that model's economic life. That's just simple math. It's very hard to get on a popular model's dance card. She has a lot of people competing for attention.

One option is to find models who are not popular, for whom your modest tips might actually make a real difference.

Either way, these are not dating sites, so establishing deep and permanent connections is tough.

I've heard from other girls that some whales can high expectations of how much attention they receive. I very rarely work on token sites, preferring the atmosphere of private-based sites, so I haven't experienced one personally, as whales are a little more rare in that part of camland.

Many models have been becoming more vocal on Twitter about how all tips are valued. Yes, a whale can nuke a countdown, but lots of modest tippers lends more to the community feel of a token site, and those tips do add up.

Why does it mess with your head? That feeling of inadequacy is pretty silly and even a bit juvenile. The vast majority of the girls, if they do acknowledge you as a friend or whatever, know you're there for them. Just bc someone comes from a better financial situation doesn't mean the girl doesn't still appreciate you and your efforts. As is said repeatedly, small tips all add up to frequently more than whales. It compares to having a porn fantasy and then seeing "your girl" take on a gangbang of 10 inchers and you have the thought of "she takes all that so I have no chance now." Pretty absurd.

The other side of that coin is the 'entitled princess camgirl' that insults you and feels 'you let her down' when you have some emergency come up IRL and can't tip her the massive tips for the foreseeable future like you have for the last year. To me that shows a black shallow selfish heart and deserves no tips or friendship from that point on.

This. Try showing some love to the less popular models who are probably able to give you more attention. Your conversation and tips won't get lost in the chat as easily.

On another note...I'll admit it sucks sometimes when you see that guys are tipping popular models $100 for a heart on the wall and to make her tip vibrator go nuts (and this isn't me "hating," by the way), yet when it comes to tits/ass flashes/requests, guys act like don't wanna tip us lesser known ladies 50 tokens, or get us to topless/naked. Lol.

It also depends on the girl, some models, even successful one can appreciate a loyal fan, even if he tips really little, specially in the times where the chat is quiet (it can get depressing for the model), so your company will be valued.

But you can't hold it against her when whales show up that she gives them full attention, just take the back seat and be happy that she's doing good. that's the way I see it, that's what I consider being supportive.

Those less popular rooms attract the grey users. Those miscreants normally get booted out quickly from the popular rooms, so they end up hanging out wherever a model will tolerate them. If I were a model in a less popular room, I would block all conversation by grey users on CB or basic users on MFC. On CB I would watch the user list like a hawk and any time a dark purple user appeared I would start chatting him up and getting to know him.

When you have a small room, the game is not about maximizing tips for the current day. The game is about acquiring long-term customers who will keep coming back and who can financially afford to take you private.

Ehhhhh.... A lot of guys find this uncomfortable and like they're being put on the spot, and will leave the room if a model tries it.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know. :) And that's the thing...I do mute guests and basics on there. Again, my point to Springer16 is...don't sleep on other, not-so-popular models. We deserve some love too, and will notice and appreciate your smaller tips.

And what SaffronBurke said above is true. A lot of members frown upon being called out by name upon entering the room, and they will bolt the moment a model does it. I (and many others) have tried the whole "Hey, BigDick4U! How's it going?" method, and found that it usually makes dudes uncomfortable and put on the spot. A model's regulars, however, enjoy being greeted by name, I think, so that's okay when it's a regular. So I think it's best to save the whole "Hey, *member name*!" thing for regulars, and for everyone else just smile and give a general "Hey, guys! How are you guys doing today?" And then whoever wants to answer can.

Of course you are right, and you have to be careful about how you approach it. But then again I know a model on CB who literally waits for these guys and point blank sends them a message "Can we go private?" and she spends about three hours a day in privates. So go figure. She did that to me too and - like you suggest - I did not like it and ran.

This might be more what I am looking for. what sites do you use? I always hang in and never express criticism or jealousy - its an inside feeling. Never a negative guy in the rooms and don't abandon models for this at all, and certainly understand their earning needs. At least one, with fewer fans but some whales, does stay connected and appreciate what I provide in tokens and support. But maybe a different payment model might work better for me over time.

I use Streamate. Most models are more focused on hustling privates, as hanging out and chatting in free chat doesn't lead to shows (people think we're "too busy" and won't take us private), but models who prefer to run gold shows (they're kind of like a countdown on MFC, everyone puts in a certain amount and the show starts when the goal is met, and only people who have tipped the minimum for the show can view it) tend to have a more social room between shows.

You also may want to check out MFC with mid-level or lower camscores. There's a lot of models who have slower rooms and are more able to divide their attention. There are a ton of models in the 500-2000 camscore range who would love a modest tipper who TALKS. So many members now aren't as talkative, and that makes it harder to keep a room going. More guys are feeling like they shouldn't talk in a model's chat room if they can't contribute monetarily, but contributing to conversation is important as well.

Thank you for your useful advice. I will look into the other sites. I already mostly connect with models with smaller followings, but will work at contributing more to the conversation and atmosphere. Relatively new here so have things to learn yet. Thanks again for your constructive feedback.

It depends on what you want. I think SaffronBurke 's last post nails it. If you want to talk and get a more personal experiance then you can find that with lower camscore models. I'd say in the 1700 and below. That is where I spend the bulk of my time and found some true gems that has lead to wonderful relationships. No I'm not the biggest tipper in the world but I never "freeload" and always tip where I can. When a bigger tipper comes I always tell the model go focus on the new tipper and I'll be here when you are done. It's worked well for me. When I go into the room of a more popular model that can be fun as well, but I don't expect a more personal experience because the other tippers would just drown me out.

that's the nice thing about MFC. There is someone for everyone.

Try a one on one site such as streamate. you should sign up with saffrons referral link as she has given you some fabbo advice :p

SaffronBurke.cammodels.com, yo!

Thank you Mia and Saffron for your useful links. I will try exploring this alternative format. As someone who is polite, supportive and spends when he can, I don't think I need to abandon camming and a few models would be disappointed if I took Jolene's advice and stopped supporting them. Thanks again for your constructive suggestions.

I never had a super busy room when I was on CB, but I disagree with this. Just because someone has a dark purple name doesn't mean that they'll tip. A lot of times they try to use their tokens to string along camgirls and get them to do stuff for free in hopes of getting tokens. I only charge 10 tokens to PM me and some dark purples refused to tip me that when they asked for PM's. I silence the rude, begging grays, but some never ask for anything and are nice to talk to, and some have ended up buying tokens for me.
