My opinion of Trump has gone up slightly, based on two things:
  • His infrastructure speech earlier in the year
  • His speech after Charlottesville that lit a firestorm

My opinion of establishment politicians and corporate media has absolutely tanked (the DNC in particular). Completely discredited themselves in my eyes. I was dead set against Trump during the election, but if the vote was held again tomorrow, I would probably either vote Trump or refuse to lend credence to the whole charade by abstaining.

His leadership style is a bit different than most politicians, but he's working hard to get things done that have been avoided for far too long.

I especially like how he keeps the msm busy with his tweets while he's getting more important things done.

I didn't care for any of the candidates, and don't particularly care for Trump. If anything, I like that he isn't a "status quo" politician such as we've seen in the past few administrtions.

Said it before, and will keep doing so, that I hope the '16 election proven to most that no matter which party is in Office, they really have no regards for the benefit of "The People". They only want to control the masses.

In the words of a friend of mine "I'm not happy Trump won. But, I'm FUCKING ECSTATIC that she didn't win!"

He's similar to Jesse Ventura when he won Gov in MN. I liked Jesse, and voted for him. His downfall is that he let the media get under his skin about his second year in office.

I doubt this will be the case with Trump. But, in some ways, I can see it happening.

I just hope we get back to a more centrist gov't that has the support of the people than the polar extremes we've seen over the years.

Trump let the media get under his skin 30 years ago and it's never stopped. I don't see it getting better.

My thoughts, he's accomplished FAR less than I expected and been far more embarrassing. I expected him too be more successfully awful with the house and senate than the nearly 0% success rate on major legislation so far. His wins have been mostly shit talking... and shit talking isn't really an accomplishment.

I kind of expected him to drop some of the divisive us/them talk once he was actually the president of all the people, but he seems to be backing into his "teams" corner even harder than before.

He's been the most embarrassing president I've witnessed since I've been old enough to witness presidency.

I'm not in support of him, and I agree in that many things he's done, or rather not done, it's been very unproductive. My comparison of him to Jesse Ventura was nothing more than he isn't a status-quo career politician that we've had in office for the past how many elections now?

I certainly never expected him to stop with the shit-talking, tweets, etc. or strong partisan speech as it's been his actions for a very long time. He's a shrewd businessman, and an entertainer. Therefore, I wouldn't expect anything less than he's shown prior to being elected.

Again, I don't like Trump. Nor do I care for much of what's going on. But, at the same time, had Clinton of been elected it'd really be no different. She's just as corrupt as he is and would be doing similar things.

Two sides of the same coin.

Shrewd businessman? The man is a con artist that has bilked everyone and everything around him for decades. Not only that, but he has underperformed the market for all those years. He would have been better off just investing in the stock market vs his hapless real estate ventures. Never mind that the only reason he didn't go flat broke was because he got some HIGHLY fucking suspicious loans from Deutsche Bank in the 90s after the failure of his casino. The same Deutsche Bank that laundered Russian money.

Bullshit it would be no different. Clinton wouldn't have been spent the last year doing everything possible to undermine America. She wouldn't have tried to repeal the ACA. She wouldn't have tried to pass a tax bill that is a massive transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the wealthy. She wouldn't have spent the last year stoking racial tensions. She wouldn't have filled her administration with traitors that collude with Russia. She wouldn't have stocked every department of the government with people that are completely against the agencies they are heading.

Don't even try to compare the two. You have to be a complete fucking moron to think they are in any way shape or form comparable.

She would have just sold uranium to Russia, left US servicemen and ambassadors to die, accepted a higher salary for very short speaking engagements than the CEO's she's demonizing for being too rich. Let's not forget the 90 or so people whom have died under very questionable circumstances who were closely associated with her and good ol' Bill.

Nope, no comparison at all.

You take that deep dickin' from Breitbart with lube or not?

The Uranium One deal that was approved by NUMEROUS agencies of our government and was not under the sole purview of Clinton? Furthermore, only the President had the authority to prevent it from occurring. It wasn't even remotely Clinton's deal.

Oh, you mean like the soldiers in Niger?

Don't get me wrong, HRC is no saint, but comparing her to Trump is laughable. She had actual policy. She has enacted positive changes in the world. She had plans that would have helped common Americans. Trump has done nothing except work to enrich himself and others like him at the expense of his constituents. He has sowed discord among people to prop himself up. He is a fucking monster.

He is a fucking monster.

They both are. If you can't see that, you're just as close-minded as you claim others to be. We need to get away from the two-party system, it has caused nothing but problems and we were warned about it more than 200 years ago.

Amazing how much stuff I had wrote off as wingnut conspiracy theory a little over a year ago is turning out to be true. If Trump is the wolf, he was running against the fox.

If Hillary had gotten locked up right after the election, I would have freaked. Now I think I would be delighted (provided those from the other side of the aisle who were complicit went too).

I don't know much about trump, but how about Rodrigo Duterte, has anyone heard of his style in this forum?
I have, but I have little faith left in the media that I have heard report on him. I did listen to him interviewed (for what that may be worth), thought it was a pretty intriguing listen.

I think thats what my point was, all I hear is from the media, if I turn on CNN. I mostly get the negative vibe, I go to Fox, its mostly good.

So, maybe its the same with Duterte, you will get alot of negative depending on the media you pay attention to. But for us, who feels the positive changes he made for the Philippines, we put our trust in him.

I just want Peace, so I may travel the world one day and enjoy and experience the different cultures i see and often read about.

Apologies, missed you post earlier. I'm not that familiar with him. May have to pay a little more attention and get a better understanding.

I know I come across as a right-winger at times. But, I'm much more of a centrist and look at it all from a skeptical eye. Trying to determine what's real, what's fake. What do I need to pay attention to, and what's potentially a distraction from those who think they're in control and what shit they're attempting to do.
Both parties are corrupt, and anyone who thinks otherwise is just blatantly ignorant or don't care. I think nearly all elected officials should be locked up for failin to do their jobs, accepting bribes and for turning our country into the mess that it is.

There should be term limits on ALL elected positions, and many/most of the appointed positions as well. The sessions should not go beyond their scheduled times. if it does, they work for free until completed. Legislatures cannorvote themselves a raise, nor make themselves exempt from laws.

Much, much more to it all. But, I'm tired and need to get up way too early in the morning...

Still celebrating!!

Here is a review

So much good news that the main stream media won't report, so corrupt and holding so many in ignrance. It is a process of breaking down the old power structures and returning power to the people.

The best I can say is that, unlike the aforementioned Rodrigo Duterte, at least Trump isn't openly murdering American citizens. Rodrigo Duterte does not deserve praise other than keeping Trump from being the worst leader around. The Donald probably would kill off the addicts if he could, (and if there wasn't so much money made in methadone clinics) but I'll still give it to him. I was willing to hope that Trump would at least follow through with the infrastructure jobs, but once he put his cabinet in place, it became clear that they're all just robbing the government as much as they can for the next 4 years. As long as he has Betsy Devos and Mike Pence on his team, I guess he won't be the most evil and disgusting person in government.

Duterte, declared war on drugs on his way to be the President, He had mentioned that there will be casualties. From day one this was being said in public, but "murdering"? That word is commonly used by the opposition. Before Duterte became the president "we" the common people were scared to walk some streets because, we might get Raped, mugged, or murdered. Now most of these street are cleaned and safe in a year's time.
I didn't say anything anything about Trump, because I am not directly affected by his actions, but there is no proof that Duterte is a murderer "murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another." , Duterte is openly stating "I will kill you, if you destroy my country" for his love of the people and trying to improve where I live--and yet he says, which is hardly reported, "kill those who resist arrest and ONLY if your life is in danger."

Could someone who is still a Trump supporter explain to the rest of us why you support him? Why you can look past how childish he's acted publicly both during his campaign and since he's taken office? Without long videos to sit through, without linking to articles... just in simple words. Bonus points if you do NOT reference "well Hillary would have done xyz she's worse" because it's about him, not the alternative at this point.

I ask this because I honestly cannot understand. To the majority of the logical world right now, it appears as if our current presidency is a complete joke, and the only things he's trying to accomplish are retracting years of effort to work past racism and bigotry.

Your happiness with your streets does not change the amorality of what he is doing.
In America, where people expect due process and not to be given the death penalty for nonviolent offenses, we certainly consider his actions murder. I'm not sure how little compassion or empathy a person would need in order to feel pleased with what Duterte is doing, but it doesn't take a genius to consider that once he's killed off the drug addicts, he can go after anyone else he dislikes too. That might include some of the "common" people you seem to consider worthy of clean streets.

You are probably right, and maybe I'm just bias because my cousin who was 12 at the time, was heading home from school, there was still daylight when 4 guys grabbed her, raped her then killed her. They were caught, all high ... but later was released because someone had bailed them out. that was 9 years ago, till now I imagine what she went through because we used to walk home together, and I still hurt. So comes a President that 17 million people voted for, cleaning the streets my siblings now walk home safely, Yes I do feel compassion or empathy that he is doing the right thing, but thats just me, because I lost a cousin, a friend, someone who helped me do my homework, someone i love.

Nobody yet? I understand it might take some time to put it into words since it's pretty difficult to justify.
