Yesterday on CB a user down voted and left message that said

”I don’t believe camming is for you. I think for your mental health you should seek other entertainment or money-making opportunities.”

It was a difficult day on cam yesterday to say the least.

However, what is the intent behind that message and down vote?

I see it as nothing but malicious and trying to sabotage me.

I mean if the user was really concerned about my mental well-being they would have just told me in a pm or tip note.

The fact that they did it in a down vote tells me there was zero good intent behind it.

I sent the screenshot into CB and have requested they investigate and remove it.

What do you guys think?

This job definitely does require a very thick skin and to be able to ignore and brush off people and their comments.
You need to learn to just ignore these type of people and comments, and heck, stop looking at the comments for your ratings if they are going to impact you so negatively. As soon as someone starts being a c**t, silence or ban them. If they then tip 25 and downvote you, just hide your satisfaction score.

But I would definitely say to stop reading the satisfaction/rating comments.

Sadly, camming sites of all sites have a lot of very stupid and pathetic trolls. You will definitely grow a thick skin, especially if this is definitely something you wish to continue to do.
The fact is no matter which cam site you go to, you will get these kinds of people

I've grown some thick ass skin from camming but there will always be days when your emotions let self doubt and trolls in. He's a douche who gets off on his douchebaggery. Best thing you can do for yourself is to be kind to yourself, eat the healthiest you can and do some sort of exercise or meditation to put you ahead mentally. The endorphins from working out are awesome, good food helps level me out and I tend to have a healthier view of myself especially on cam. If I feel confident, the assholes don't touch my mental state as much.

If you aren't feeling emotionally or mentally up for camming, than you shouldn't be going on then. Make clips or use other avenues like sextpanther, onlyfans content etc if you still need income. Sometimes it's nice to not be live. Biggest advice I can give is save as much as you can so it's easier to take care of your mental health. This biz is vicious.

It should not matter. Its about what you feel.
Find a way to take the good things that can help you.
A long time ago when I've joined ACF forum and posted a few of my ugly designs all camgirls laughed at me and moked my hard work and like yourself I felt a bit disappointed or affected in a way or another but that mockery pushed me to do better, develop more, learn more and after a while my work was one of the finalist on xbiz awards, got contacted by studios, porn stars, popular webcam performers.....
But its not about me... bottom line, don't let anyone clip your wings no matter what, if you are not satisfied with your performance, do better, push to become better. There will be always guys/girls or whatever to throw at you a lot of bulshit, their own frustrations and fears, it will never end, learn to ignore, detach from negative vibrations and move forward.
Best of luck.

It is very hard not to read the comments when it is the first thing I see when I log in. Also, I want to know who did it so I can ban them from my room. And since they are anonymous it’s not easy. I will NEVER quit just because someone thinks it’s not for me. I have 494 positives from the last 3 months who were very pleased. However, I will never understand why users try to tell you what to do, under the “guise” of “just trying to help”. Again, I look at it and try to figure out the deuce bag so I can ban him. Sometimes these guys pretend they are nice, then backstab you. That has happened a lot. I want to keep my friends close, and enemies closer. But the bottom line is, I will NEVER be defeated by someone else’s opinion or comments, just temporarily annoyed. And I do become stronger each time because of the adversity.

Good for you! I feel the same, after the annoyance wears off. Like dude, you just pushed be to be more successful and make more money. Just to prove that I can do it and your 1 opinion doesn’t matter.

This is your biggest "problem", trying and wanting to understand why guys are how they are, say and do what they say/do... don't. Simply, just don't. So many people are unstable for many different reasons or think they are better than you or whatever else.. it's best to just not worry about trying to understand them at all. Once you can get past this, I think it will make everything better and easier for you. As a guy myself, I honestly don't understand half of these people, and definitely not the ones who try cause shit for people and models.

Rule #1: Don't ever try to understand a guy - one that's being nasty, cruel, mean, trolling, rude etc. There really is no logic or common sense to many of these
Rule #2: See rule 1, then now you will be much happier - hopefully lol

What about wanting to figure out who left it? Comments aside I don’t want this person back in my room. I would hope they would not want to come back. However, sadly this isnt always the case. As I’ve had a few come back.

It's a tricky question because on the one hand, obviously - as you say - you want to know so you can ban them but on the other hand the more time and energy you give them, the more they will most likely keep doing it. Personally I'd let them just keep doing it and if they keep leaving the same type of message, you can more than likely deduct that it's the same person or 2 people. In this scenario, I would then contact CB and ask them to please remove the votes + ban the users from your room.

Hopefully the people tipping and doing these kinds of votes, are ones that are noticeable in your chat with how they speak/type.

no, here : get ride of enemies, you're not totally in real life. It's possible, so you just don't have to understand them

However, what is the intent behind that message and down vote?
First, 1 down vote should not worry you, whatever the comment (you never know who is behind)
On another hand, everyone can vote once per day and each vote is added to Ups or Downs for 3 months.
And that is weird as a sucker can do up to around 90 votes.

So searching for the dude when you see votes increasing is really not a silly action.

You have 494 votes telling you someone is happy you exist!

This isn't really advice, just some observations. It's normal human behaviour to look for and notice things that stick out, things that are wrong and things that need fixing. But at the same time, focusing too much on bad things can give you a very weird bias and lead you to think that the world is full of broken things when it's not. In my business we say "do not enumerate badness", because doing so could give you a false picture of the situation. The few negative votes are just random noise and not really representative of what users think of you ☺

But anyway, sorry for your continuous stream of Internet Assholes™ 😞

Don't keep you enemies closer. I never understood that line, because why would you want to surround yourself with people who are toxic and malicious? Surround yourself with people who love, support, and wants you to succeed in camworld.

Welcome to the internet where people be absolute cunts because they are anonymous. They think because they have a keyboard they can say whatever they want. A lot of people (especially men from my experience) don't get just because you think it, doesn't mean you always have to share. So when someone makes a negative comment that isn't constructive, ignore. Start learning how to brush it off.

Fuck that guy. There are plenty of models who suffer from mental health and is still able to cam no problem. EVERYONE has their bad days or no money days. You are right. If he really cared about your mental health, he would of mentioned it privately, or maybe not at all. BECAUSE HE DOESNT KNOW YOU OR YOUR PERSONAL STRUGGLE. HE ONLY KNOWS WHAT YOU ALLOW TO SHOW/SHARE ON CAM. Really fucking ignorant that he thinks it's acceptable for someone to quit their self-sufficient work-at-home job during this economy/pandemic.

see if Chaturbate is able to ban him from your room if they are unable to tell you who said it. Because I agree, you don't want that type of customer who is going to tell you give up when you are having a bad time.

Same in my line of work. We have a method of getting customer feedback. Two things have always been true: 1) there’s always an asshole or three amidst the good ones, and 2) you can’t waste time fixating on the one or two people who are nasty. Unless their feedback is the majority (sounds like it isn’t), you can safely ignore it.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. Users on CB just can’t seem to understand I am just a real person. I clearly state in my bio(although few read it) I am not perfect and will not always be a bed of roses. I have never marketed myself as such. And a lot appreciate how “real” and “honest” I am. And yes anyone who cared about your mental well being would NOT say that in a down vote. I mean I was not feeling good that day anyway, and if they saw that, why downvote and make it worse. CB will never say who gave the vote. I have asked before and they always say no.

It is not always the ones who are rude in the chat who leave these kinds of messages. Sometimes I have a rude user who tips and expect a vote and message like this, and the next day there is not one. Most tip 25 or a little more and say nothing, so it is a mystery.

But why make votes anonymous? What good is that for the model?

Seems absolutely pointless and furthers a users ability to attack anonymously.

Leaving models wondering.

And I don’t think it’s a waste trying to figure out who left it. And if it were not anonymous I would not have to do that.

i have never understood why it’s anonymous. Serves zero valuable purpose.

since they wont tell you who said it, i would request if they can ban them from your room then. possibly an ip ban. i'm not sure if they are able to. from my experience, streamate is able to ban members for us who leave anonymous tags all the time. i'm constantly asking them when i get inflammatory tags to ban that person, and they do no problem.

@lovelylaura

It's understandable that you are frustrated with this, but it is best to not fixate on 1 person who left a bad rating. Just ignore it and move on.
I use to fixate on the negative all the time and it drove me into a major depression. Now I just don't care what toxic people think or say and I have never felt better :)

Unless the comment and bad rating is an ongoing issue and similar/repetitive . Then keep messaging support.

Just shrug this comment off. No need to waste one thought about it.
<--- This works wonders.

Edit....
Just seen this last comment of yours

How often is the negative rating? Are the messages always similar?

I emailed CB about it. I sent screenshot of the comment as well. They have said before they investigate votes that are given “not in the spirit of their rating system”. And I don’t see how a vote telling you to quit would be a legit vote. I see it as a way to try and sabotage me and that’s not gonna happen.

try bugging @punker barbie if she/thing can reiterate and requesting to block them for your room. i agree that telling someone to give up due to mental health is "not in the spirit of their rating system.

if they say there is nothing they can do, you gotta let it go. shove it in that guy's face by not quitting and put on your best fake smile. if a member repeatably compliments you, say thank you "it would help me so much if you left me that in a rating." that way his rating gets buried with all the positive ones.

I would take that out, personally. Shitty people would see that as an invitation to nitpick, and since you're not yet to the level of shrugging off nitpicking, it will eliminate the comments that idiots think that phrasing invites. Your bio is where you're supposed to sell your brand, not where you state faults.

Good point. Another user yesterday left down vote and said “your old and boring”. And only tipped 25 tokens to do it. It’s an issue with users I previously banned coming back and getting back at me for banning them. Only solution I see is ban permanently. CB doesn’t seem to respond or care about users maliciously down voting for no valid reason and leaving abusive messages, as they don’t even respond to the emails about it, but respond to my other inquiries.

I sent her a message yesterday, as well as tagged her here, no reply yet. And no answer from official support yet.
