Not much of a surprise. They don't want to be hit with a bunch of DCMA take-downs and bad press.

Just a side note, but it sounds like their banning deep fakes. Which leaves the door open for lots of other kind of deeplearning & CGI porn.

Tom Scot talked a bit about face swapping in his most recent video for people interested who are interested in how it works. Aside from the from the copyright issues and the fact that people use it to create non consensual porn it is a remarkable bit of technology. With a bit of time and editing I could be Han Solo in the Star Wars movies.
