Hello. I am both a broadcaster (fledgling) and a purveyor of rooms. I am also a Supporter level user and am very respectful in both public and private conversations.

Last night (Nov 26, 2024 at 2:47 AM EST), a user in a room posted 2 comments in Russian, with a gif of a black woman making an exaggerated face in a movie. The model read the comments aloud and burst out laughing for probably 30 seconds.

Curious, I copy and pasted the lines into google translate and it turned out to be an extremely offensive and racist 'joke'. I commented, mentioning the @UserName, asking why was the racism necessary. No reply, no comment from either of the TWO room mods or the broadcaster.

I reported both of the comments to CB in the users popup dialog and took a screenshot of the offensive comments. After about 20 minutes of the same user continuing to post, I used the Apple 'translate' feature for images and took a screenshot of what the user said in context.

I then posted (to the best of my recollection): "Hey <model name>, I think you're very funny and sweet, but I can't in good conscience follow and support you for laughing at and leaving the racist comments from <username> active in the chat. Good luck to you in the future." I attached the translated screenshot, unfollowed and waited for a response from her or the mods. None came, so I left the room and shortly after went to bed.

Cut to 6 hours or so later. I grab my coffee, sit down and am greeted with the dreaded 'We have reason to believe that you may have violated our terms of service' message. I filled out the Support form asking what happened, then it occurred to me that it may have been posting the translated 'joke' image. I checked the account of the user who posted the original Russian text joke and it too is banned. The model in questions has 428k users, so I do not expect that it will be banned.

So I guess my question is: is this the sort of thing that support will recognize as an unintended offense? I have several thousand tokens in limbo, as well as followers, fan club memberships and more. I was attempting to be a good community member but acknowledge that I could have been more subtle.

Thanks for any and all advice.

Your story is a shining example of following the rules, reporting suspected abuse in good faith and reporting it to support. But despite your efforts, you receive a “punishment” in the form of an account block.

Judging from what is written on the forum, you can expect a response from support for a long time if you are noticed in a violation, even if you did not commit it. Your account already has an offender status, so it usually takes longer. Posting here may indeed speed up the process, but even then recovery may take a long time. Especially if you need to check several accounts manually. I think this is what will happen in your case.

Therefore, you should be patient, the representative's response will mean that you have been noticed. But the outcome is always unpredictable.

Also, judging by the information on the forum, you should not re-send too many letters to support, as this will lower you to the bottom of the queue, and the waiting time may increase.

...you are one of the few people to have their ban reversed, what do you think goes through the mind of the rep that unbanned you if you keep speaking negatively about CB?

And obviously that is not following the rules, no offense to ser_bronn here but obviously you can't repost something like that. He clearly did it without thinking and maybe CB will forgive his mistake but of course it is definitely not following the rules.

Seriously...case after case goes unresolved because CB simply stops responding. She got very lucky that they bothered to hear out her case.

...but speaking negatively of CB is actually against their TOS. It's valid reason for them to suspend or ban you. I'd be careful of what you say @Anitata. At the very least, make a separate account to complain on. They know who you are on this one. 🫤 Not worth the risk.

Yeah, be careful @Anitata .

When that texting site Arousr decided to ban me in 2022...and I'd posted on here (and other places online) to warn people about them...they went and banned me from their Twitter account too. Lol. They were BIG MAD. As if banning me from their Twitter account was gonna silence me.....

It's probably a touch of harassment in the eyes of admins. Report, block, move on.

Why do you think my statement is negative? What did I say that was rude, offensive or defamatory?

Unfortunately, I don't know the site you are talking about. But this is too rude of them. I don't know what laws this site operated under. But it seems to me that freedom of speech is protected in any country. Although I may be wrong about a number of countries. But this is definitely not about the USA, in whose jurisdiction Chaturbate operates.

Hi @DadBadNextDoor I have confirmed that the support team has responded to your inquiry. Ticket #23954108
They did, yes. Permanent ban.

Although they responded to my first form inquiry, which was 'what happened?'.
After posting here, I submitted a second one, basically with the same text as my post here. I am hoping they will see it and reconsider, given the context. I've developed some fun friendships with people on CB. 😥

Thank you for following up on it. I appreciate it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I really sympathize with you, given your post and your intentions. May I ask if your tokens will be returned or will remain on the account? I saw the continuation of the text, you don't have to answer.

Yes, I received an email that I will receive a refund for purchased tokens.

You mentioned that the message was in Russian, as was the gif. Are you sure you got the correct translation of this phrase? The thing is, I'm not a native English speaker and I often run into translation difficulties, especially when I want to make a joke.

I could make a correct translation of the phrase, since I am also a native speaker of Russian.
If you have a screenshot left, I can take a look at it if you want.

But so that this does not affect or offend anyone in any way, you can send me a private message.

Freedom of speech in the US protects you from the govt taking action against you for your speech, not a private business. This is a common misunderstanding.

Private businesses can and do have contracts with performers regarding negative speech, I’m not sure if CB does but they are within rights to terminate you for speaking negatively online

CB's TOS says it does not govern third party websites for violations. If she said this on site, in the chat, and someone reported her then it would be a problem. Presumably, at least.

At least you understood something of what I meant. Thank you!
But anyway, I still can't understand why my comments are called "negative".
I don't say anything offensive or untrue.
I said what I observe here, I named the supposed paths of the outcome, nothing more.
It seems to me that this section is intended for people to come and discuss issues related to Chaturbate, including account blocking.

It seems to me now that I understand that you are taking this literally, reinforcing it with a certain law.

I will try to explain:

In my country, "freedom of speech" is used in two senses.
1. This is the direct meaning of "constitutional right", Directly the direct article (as I understand it, you call this the first amendment).
2. It has a general meaning that includes protection of journalism, constructive criticism, and truthful reviews of a product or service. Freedom of expression, choice of religion, and conversations about it. Even the choice of the language you speak (we have a problem with this now, so this is also included).

I think all this has a different name, but the meaning remains the same.
But this does not mean that you can use insults or slander. (Bar words, false statements). And it also doesn't mean that you are exempt from the law. I hope it means more clearly now.
But in any case, I am grateful for the clarification, and perhaps I could hear something else interesting.

Also the post in which I said this had a completely different meaning. I would even say a positive attitude.

Ok yes, maybe a difference in meaning then. In the US at least least, freedom of speech refers to the constitutional right typically.

I also want to say I am not a CB model, therefore they can’t do anything to me, and your comments are not necessarily wrong or disagreed with- people here are just recommending caution in case you might endanger your account. They are trying to help.

Yes, I understand you. I will take this into account in the future. I don't say this with any pretension or anything like that. I just wanted to find understanding.

People just say that "I'm lucky" that my case was reviewed. It sounds like I was guilty and was forgiven. In some ways, it's even an insult to me. I was charged with a serious crime and if it had gone beyond the site it could have caused me long term problems.

Nobody knows the full picture and why I was the "lucky one" who got the block lifted. But they continue to talk about it as if I were a "criminal" and received "pardon". (I have highlighted these words so that they are perceived correctly. Please look at the semantic load of the text).
But in any case, I am grateful to everyone who talks to me about this.

Because you were like welp all good, no details will be given. So you're basically the Donald Trump of CB right now. Committing crimes, sealing the documents and getting away with it.

Hi @punker barbie. Do you think there is any chance of my account getting a second chance, or should I abandon all hope?

I have already said earlier (in another thread) that I am not yet ready to comment on this, since the case is not completed. I'm still waiting for clarification, given the information I received recently.
As I stated earlier, I did not use "other people's or fraudulent" documents to register any of my accounts. And I am not guilty of what I was accused of.
Yet some people continue to treat me as if I had received a "pardon." Devaluing the work I have done, considering that I received a complete refusal from the Chaturbate support, and Multi Media, LLC service to help resolve my issue and review the situation. Completely ignoring the fact that it was not about the content or the chat conversations, but about my documents directly.

This thread, like other recent CB threads lately, seems to have become focused on discussing Anitata’s issues with CB…that I’d actually forgotten that this is DadBodNextDoor’s thread. And then I didn’t help matters any with my lil’ tangent above. 🙄 Sorry, DadBod. I am rooting for you to get your account back. But if not, I believe you will find plenty of other cam rooms you will enjoy on a different site(s)…free from racially offensive jokes, hopefully.
