What does everyone use to provide an extra backup of all their videos, photos, general content and footage? Having multiple external drives is only doing so far.

Is Dropbox fairly reliable and not in the habit of deleting adult content?

FWIW, I upload a few things to GDrive and ODrive. Never had issues, and neither one I've seen anything that says they will delete data if it's adult content.

https://www.google.com/drive/terms-of-service/

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement

The closest I see is from MS regarding sharing of content:

  • iv. Don’t publicly display or use the Services to share inappropriate content or material (involving, for example, nudity, bestiality, pornography, offensive language, graphic violence, or criminal activity).

Since I don't share this kind of data, and I only use them to backup what I have, should be fine.

I don't see anything against adult content in inbackblaze.com TOS.

They do have "we have the right to remove files you store with Backblaze for any reason", but that's basally in every clause for every cloud storage.

If you wanted to be extra safe you could use a program that encrypts your backups to the cloud. Or password protect your files before manually uploading. Long as your not giving out that password, they have no way to know or see the contents of your files.

Google Drive has been scanning accounts for porn and deleting the content/closing the accounts. It's supposedly due to concern about child porn, but they're taking down adult porn too.

Interesting. I don't keep much up there, mostly just a couple pics or small vids. But, surprised no mention of it in their ToS.

If it's strictly for backup purposes any provider can work, just put your files in a password protected zip file with an innocent name.
