should i get a VPN???

I know privacy is a HUGE thing, and for me it's incredibly important for my safety (and sanity). I'm very much wanting to get a vpn, but I dont know where to start looking, or whats even a good one to use. help!!!

This will all come down to preference really. I personally love PureVPN.
I was lucky to get it on offer AND it was it's birthday so it gave me 2 yrs for about £30. And it's fantastic.

For what purpose will you be using a VPN exactly? I know privacy but in what sense; how?

in the past I've had a stalker, and due to my PTSD and living alone, I'm very paranoid. I have my webcam persona, which Im sure like porn stars, cam models do too.

I am thinking about getting one as well – to obscure my location specifically.

I can't speak for their VPN service but I've had a seedbox through KPHservices for years and I highly recommend them as a company. I've never had any serious issues and the few times I've had to email their support they've always been quick to answer and resolve the problem

They do offer VPNs that seem reasonably priced so it might be worth looking into them. Hope it helps. :)
 
i use Tunnelbear but it's not free, i think it charges me $10 a month. i like it though because i can choose where i want to be "from". i was pretty weirded out when i set my location to the UK and immediately got a brittish guy messaging me on MFC who said he found me from searching models by area. he wanted to know what part of the UK i was in and i was like what the fuck o_0 i didn't know they could do that

I use Private Internet Access. There's a kill switch option which is kind of nice, and I can use it for my phone as well. There's a yearly fee but I don't remember specifically what it is.

If a VPN provider was smart they would park a sales representative here. I never really thought about models using VPNs before but I can see the advantages of it.
 
Use a VPN for when you go off-site. Your camming site should protect you. But when you use different video chat services it is possible to trace your ip address. I haven’t found a good VPN yet though.... suggestions?
 
I like StrongVPN. It's nothing fancy but the speed has always been really good (almost the same as not using it). Very rarely it will drop my connection, but switching to a different server usually helps.

Is has a yearly fee (not sure how much), but one or two Skype shows and it's paid for itself. Oh and they have mobile versions so you can use it on your phone.
 
I've used a few different VPN's over the years. Currently, I use HideMyAss (HMA). It's good, has decent speed and a lot of servers throughout the world. Windows client and Android apps are good.

It typically doesn't get good reviews due to in years past, it's turned over some logs to authorities. They claim they keep logs for about three months. I personally don't use a VPN for illegal activities such as downloading copyright material, or other activities. I use a VPN so I can browse some sites that firewalls blocks, or when I'm on a public WiFi. Therefore, I'm not concerned about the logging issue too much. Though, would prefer they only keep logs for a few hours instead. Not a dealbreaker, IMO.

I have heard very good things about PIA, which I may switch over to once my HMA subscription expires.
