Hi everyone! I'm a Chaturbate model and actually I don't show my face.

My reason: privacy and security, I do not want to be recognized. Also, I'd really like to start showing face on the webcam, I'm not happy hiding.

Has anyone ever had some problem showing face? Any tips, encouragement?
*I was thinking about wig and contact lens but idk if will work*

Thanks

I was thinking about wig and contact lens
This might be a good way to start out! Dramatically different makeup than you usually wear, different colored contacts, different color/style wig, glasses... There are lots of ways to obscure your actual appearance and make yourself less recognizable! Plus it's fun to play around with different looks, you can become someone else entirely.

This is a common concern when you are just starting off. I always cam showing my face, however, I was always a bit concerned that viewers would recognize me. To avoid this problem I blocked my location on Chaturbate so viewers could not see where I lived and viewers from the state I lived in could not view me. Several cammers do wear masks to conceal their identity. I also specifically ask popular models on Chaturbate if they ever had viewers recognize them offline. After hearing their response I felt more comfortable with my security. Just be sure to not give out personal information and I wouldn't worry too much about it if you don't want to continue hiding.

and twitter how do you behave? I noticed that many people show their faces! are not you worried that someone will recognize you? same thing for instagram! I would like to know how to use socially freely to promote me but I'm so scared!

There is always going to be the risk someone you know will recognize you. Its just the way this business is. You have to decide for yourself if the risk is worth the reward. You can not show your face if you want but I find this a lot harder to sell your brand without a face to a name. And other than not showing your face there isn't really any other options for not being recognized on social media. Make sure you phone number isn't linked and you privacy settings don't have you coming up as suggestions to your contacts etc.

For myself I could give less than 1 fuck if my family or friends find out I'm in this business so for me its not a huge issue and the important people in my life already know. If you feel too scared to be found it may not be the business for you.

I started showing my face on cam. Now I don't anymore (a personal friend of got blackmailed by someone I know too). People in my room at cb have dropped from around 200 or 300 to 20 or 30 and token earnings went down dramatically too. It's the price you pay.

When I first started I barely showed face and used to wear wigs. But with time I felt comfortable to be more open and now trying to create an image I need to show my face. Also money. Money talks.

My response for anyone who can recognize me is to say “So what are you doing here?!” It’s a good reminder to them to not shame me or judge me for what I do, if is that bad, so why he/she is even there watching?!

(I just try to use their own mentality against them if they going to use it against me. Always make them speechless)

I just don’t care anymore and don’t let anyone step on me. Be confident if someday you show your face and own what you do! :)

First month I was on, I never showed my face... I guess I was more insecure then worried about someone i know seeing me. Then over time, I started being more comfortable, I guess its just up to the person knowing whats your comfort zone, there are models who never showed their face in public and seems the curiosity gets to the guest because they always take them to private where she can be seen. Some models do were wigs and shades, mask, and to each has reason why they do that. Be yourself and do what you feel whats right for yourself. Find your comfort zone, if not showing your face does that then stay with it, if you feel more daring, go little by little by offering that you will show your face at private, you'd be surprised there are more guest would take this offer. ...good luck

You don't have to show face to get recognized. I had a coworker from an old job recognize my ass. On the other hand, even before I started camming, I would have strangers walk up to me in the mall, insisting that they knew me. Often, they would insist that I attended a local high school with them, when in fact I had no idea where that school even was, and actually attended the one a couple towns over. I seem to just have one of those faces that looks similar to a lot of people. Or I have a lot of doppelgangers. Probably that, my dad has a lot of doppelgangers as well, and he's even walked into a party to see himself already sitting on the couch.

you really have all my admiration !! during show show my face, i work mostly on adultwork, streamed and niteflirt .. so far it's ok .. but on social networks still a lot of braking!

I think cammers have to answer for themselves, "what would I lose if someone recognized me?" If its anything like respect or friendship or family relationship I'm just like if this would make them dislike me then I don't need that type of person in my life to begin with. In terms of job, you have to measure that risk. If your boss goes "I saw you on chaturbate" just ask "chatter what? What's that?" And watch it get awkward for them haha.

Oh definitely, this is something everyone considering camming should ask themselves, preferably before they ever even broadcast. She very clearly states in her first post that she doesn't want to be recognized so asking "by who" is kind of irrelevant bc it only takes one person finding out for the rest of your town/community/family/friends whoever to know.
I very much agree with you about not having those in my life who don't accept my job/lifestyle but unfortunately not everyone feels this way. I was never particularly close to my family so this was never really an issue for me but I did lose my best friend of 14 or so years bc of it and it was devastating. Im the black sheep of my graduating class and was the talk of the town for quite a while... hell one person even tried to petition the neighborhood I live in to make me move.
As far as playing dumb that only works for so long... even if your not showing your face. Its only a matter of time before somebody recognizes your voice, your freckles, dem ass or titties or god forbid a birthmark or tattoo. If you won't be okay with people knowing eventually then this job probably isn't for you. And nothing pisses me off more than people (bosses) who frequent cam/porn sites and then want to judge you for being a model.... its a job and somebodys got to do it. Im generally pretty open about my being in the industry so if somebody says to me "you look familiar" a lot of times I reply "do you watch porn?" with a big shit eating grin on my face.

You don't think people will want record this? If I show just on pv

People who know me on real life, I don't want someone threatening... But at all I agree with show face, and the people who really love me know I'm camgirl and they respect this.

And yes, someone can recognize me even with wigs and contact lens, but they can't prove that's me... They have nothing to do with this

I'm more worried about threats. I'm shy out of cams, I would feel bad and exposed if someone I know saw me on cam. Not a shame I'm just a very private person in my personal life

I totally agree! I just work with my cams and study, it's why I'm thinking about show face I want be more close of my watchers

once you go on cam, the risk of being recorded is 99.9%. know it, and be comfortable, until a time comes where companies like chaturbate sues companies that record the shows the model performs at their site and keeps winning alot of money (i will endorse chaturbate to sue these companies as long as I get a small percentage), the risk will reduce, but that might never come in my lifetime as a cam model.
Risking being seen and recorded and acknowledging the risk factor will be your comfort to perform. If you cannot accept these risk, it would be harder to be a cam model.

I love this so much

If you are broadcasting yourself on the internet you will get recognized at some point, so be prepared. I took all the precautions but was still outed within a few weeks of starting. Personally I think you should show face. Members enjoy seeing your face and I think it’d be too stressful having to worry about cam angles and such to hide your face.
