So after getting nowhere with CB, I am going to try out MFC.

I've read that many models have been getting bans on CB and that they're super crazy ban-happy. I took about 6 months off from camming and don't remember it being like that. My situation with CB may still resolve itself (I talked about it in another thread, but it's a cluster). Anyways..........Has anyone else switched to MFC? If so, how are you liking it? I'm currently waiting on ID verification. Hopefully I get some positive results one way or another. Thanks!

Get ready for a change in perspective. MFC is very different from CB in many ways.

On MFC you will need:
1) To make content to sell through Share. On CB members are accustomed to tip for interaction and goals. On MFC most members won't tip for interaction or goals unless there is content available to double dip with. (Tip for content and make it count towards the goal)
2) Tiny rooms compared to Chaturbate with a handful of heavy hitters. MFC is a hardcore regular game. On CB you can easily make your goals from tons of small tips, on MFC you will need to cater to high tippers much more.

On MFC you will get
1) Incentive for members to tip in the shape of competitions with other models. This is great if you have a competitive spirit and are willing to work hard enough to rank.
2) Respect from the administration and support. The times I had issues and wrote to them they responded quickly and kindly.

Forget about:
1) Affiliate income: MFC's affiliate program has banned models from participating in it.
2) Competing against couples and group sex for placement. MFC is female only.
3) Hardcore ads and banners surrounding your cam feed.

There are more things to say but these are the broad strokes.

MFC's affiliate program is basically CrackRevenue, I don't know about their model referral policy though.
Like I already explained, MFC models get their CR accounts terminated as apparently they do not support models in the affiliate program.

I don't know much about MFC. I tried it like 6 years ago and found it to not be my style but what is the reasoning behind banning models from participating?

Well it truly is very simple:

The purpose of opening an affiliate program is to bring fresh traffic to the site, that is... people who have never been exposed to the site will see it and a portion of them will eventually become customers. Once someone becomes a costumer the affiliate that brought that person to the site gets a 20% cut of anything he spends for life. This is a high percentage, consider the site has to then manage to pay models 50%, pay the card processors 15% and cover the running costs (bandwidth, staff, platform, etc) with the remaining 80% (only model and processor fee already adds up to 75%) so we can basically say that for every customer that comes to the site through an affiliate link the site breaks even or makes very little profit, but it's still worth it because on top of getting these users they also gain in visibility... these new customers will bring friends through word of mouth, etc.

What happens when models are allowed to use this feature? Well... some models have huge social media accounts with thousands of followers who have never been exposed to camming who mainly know her from their social media. Most models do not. So what happens is models end up cannibalising the website's new fresh customers that did not arrive through an affiliate. Say... someone looks up "Drop dead gorgeous brunette goddess with a phat ass that will make me weak in the knees" on google and somehow find my camroom on their own. If this person signs up then CB gets 100% of his spending. But what if instead of signing up at once, he follows me on twitter and I post my affiliate link tomorrow and he clicks on it, and THEN signs up? The site will only get 80% of his spending, the rest will go to me. But why? I didn't bring this member to the site... he would have signed up anyway... but because I am featured on the site AND I am allowed to have an affiliate link I can make the site lose a big percentage that should not belong to me.

Now.. there is also the other side of the argument. The other side says... well... the above is true BUT... how do you know the member would have signed up anyway? By allowing models to use the affiliate program you are giving models the incentive to push hard for member conversion, which they would otherwise not do. This is a good strategy if you have massive traffic like CB and want a fast member conversion rate. MFC however has little traffic and they depend a lot of word of mouth so when a model steals the affiliate percentage it really hurts their bottom line.

Merchant percentages paid by the site for processing will never exceed 3% of the value of the purchase. 15%? I don't know where you got that number from.

Adult websites are a high risk business and therefore the processing fees are higher. Here is CCBill's processing rates. Adult websites like Chaturbate are in the Blue tier which goes from 10% to 15% depending on which services you use and which countries your traffic comes from. I estimate CB will be closer to 15% considering CCBill handles the entirety of their affiliate program. Do not make absurd claims like processors fees never exceeding 3% when you clearly don't know much about the industry.

You assume Chaturbate and other cam sites are using CCBill to process payments of any kind. They could have direct agreements with the card issuer. It's why the recent addition to buy tokens with AMEX was a huge announcement.

The last time I entered into a merchant agreement with American Express adult products of any kind could not be purchased. From cigarettes to condoms to tokens from cam sites -- that was all a huge no in AMEX TOC.

Listen, Chaturbate's main payment processor AND the company that handles their affiliate program is CCBill, I am not assuming anything, it is a plain fact.

Even if it wasn't the other big payment processors that deal with adult websites (Epoch, Verotel and Segway) all have similar fees of 15% and sometimes on top of that they will charge a 5% security deposit on all transactions that is paid back at the end of the year. Not to mention the Mastercard and Visa anual fees..

The reason adult sites are a high risk business and the processing fees are so high is because of the high amount of fraudulent transactions that the processors need to protect the sites from, plus the fact that many banks do not want to deal with this type of content, and Visa and Mastercard have such strict rules regarding the content on the sites that they will work with. Payment processors are the ones mediating between pornsites and the credit card companies. I don't talk out of my ass, random stranger, I know my shit cause I worked affiliate marketing for 10 years before becoming a model. I kindly replied to your first question giving you a lot of detail on what you asked for but it seems to me you are fixated in "proving me wrong" for no reason. Why would I make up information that is readily available through a simple google search? Makes no sense.

@Mila_ Should run all of the cam sites. Consider my ass schooled. Can I put you on retainer for this little CB issue I'm having? Holy crap you know your stuff. Way to tell that "charleigh" who knows what. I am laughing my ass off. It's been a long day. Hi again, I'm new and I'm Kara and I should be sleeping. Thanks for the help again!

I think what you relate to @Mila_ is a known argument called an attribution model(who owns the conversion basically). I deal with it in Vanilla e-commerce as well(that’s when we see how Google and Facebook campaigns devour each other).
There are many tensions between affiliates and webcam sites over this question (we have our regular drama queen fiasco on xbiz and GFY). Many affiliates use a Click Per Mill views revenue models, because they know that when someone becomes a new customer, the pixel may already be expired, and the conversion will appear as organic traffic in the reports.
Given my bitter experience with a failing French website, affiliation for performers is a great addition, but not a value proposition. The best way in my humble opinion to keep models is to take care of the traffic for them, to maximize conversions for them, and to let them focus on the hard work they already do, that is converting the traffic.
Then again, you can take what I say with a grain of salt. I “only” build and manage campaigns for lead generations, and e-commerce at the moment:)

I don't suppose that CB uses CCBill exclusively however it's irrelevant to the salient point that Mila is making, processing fees are usually at least 10% higher than what vanilla e-commerce players get. New players on the adult market usually process credit cards with even higher fees, because they have not gained enough trust and processing history. There are many more factors to consider, for example if you are a non US based adult webcam site trying to process US credit cards, you're in for additional screening and processes, etc. I'm talking from experience here, I orchestrated more than a few negotiations between a cam site and payment processors, including CCBill. A stable webcam site like CB, has a business flow that does not have to toil broadcasters through payment processor fees, just like an Amazon seller should not be troubled by it when they make listings and sell them online.

Far off-topic from the original question, but doesn't cb have its own payment solution for credit cards?

And for models not being eligible for the affiliate program, can't re sign ups of existing users with the model's affiliate link play a role?

It's all good. It took awhile to get my situation sorted, just be patient.
I just wish I could get a response that someone's looking into it. I feel completely ignored and am losing potential income. It's getting me panicked. Just trying to stay occupied til then. Thanks for the support!

My ID is current. I even e-mailed my passport. And it's going on 76 hours since this started and not a single response. I've tried tweeting at CB too. I did the @punker barbie on here since that was mentioned. I have heard from no one. No idea what else to do. No one will respond.

Were you respectful and succinct in the emails you sent them? Maybe something in your tone felt off to support?

I was very succinct, but I'm pretty sure I sounded annoyed. It's kind of hard not to. I don't know what it takes to run a business like that and I apologize for my snap reaction. I just got on here and started reading about all the problems other people had and sort of freaked out.

So this is the MFC support area, did you post this in the cb section? Shirley isn't going to post here for a cb problem. Or at least I wouldn't think she would anyway.

Smart decision, A model friend of mine was on CB last year and said its like night and day making the switch to MFC. I talk to alot of member friends and we all agree that to do well on MFC is to have a set shedule, You will see guys come in we call em 1 hitters they will come in for a day of glory and tip up to 1800 through out the show then never to be seen again, also with so many diverse members on mfc you will have regs who tip 5 tokens here and there through out the show to guys who tip 100 through the pm window, But with time you will eventually get better regs who will tip so much better , I Tip my favorite model 3700 tokens through out the week. Why ? Well when i get off work i know she will be online also has a great personality and engages in public chat, her room has good members who i became friends with and she also has games you can play like blackjack or truth or dare etc in which makes the room eventful. So as a member who loves researching the models perspective and members also having video content on MFCShare will generate income. i know my grammar blows, but bottom line Steady shedule be sexy and personable get to know us and be patient as your room grows so will the tippers, be patient and wish you the best
