Hi everyone,
So today I was on cam and I got a message saying someone is recording everything I do, every time I am on MFC! I am really creeped out and my mood is shot from this... Has anyone else gotten anything like this??

its so weird and annoying and when I try to click Download to see if it is real it does not allow me to download it (Thank God!!) It just bothers me because my cam life is seperate from my real life and I have certain states blocked so Is there anyway to get this site taken down??

I deleted the links in the original post since this could be asked without those details.

The answer is yes, it happens to nearly every cam model.

This comes with the job, sorry you weren`t informed about it.But honestly the chances of someone you know to find you are pretty slim...unless they are addicted to watching porn and cam models imo

Many have wished the same thing.
Many have tried.
Many have showed up here stating they are experts and have gotten other sites taken down and will do the same with them, because they have better methods at doing so.

The sites are still there.

Thank you! Good idea I didn't think of that people could find this post and go to it! Ugh it's annoying but what else should I expect it's on the internet -_-

The link you were given may not have been legitimate but regardless you're being recorded.

At that, and the fact that it didn't do anything (visibly) when she clicked the links, I'd HIGHLY recommend running a full system scan for viruses and malware. I know of a few cam models whom were targets of ransomware pirates when they were sent links to pages similar to what she was.

what virus scanner should I use????

If you're on a Windows system, I would recommend to at least do a scan using the Windows scanner. If you want a more comprehensive one that is free:

https://www.avast.com
-or-
http://www.avg.com

Both are good.

As OldHippy mentioned, malwarebytes is good for what you need on top of a virus scanner.

One of the things to remember is that if you have too many processes running, such as multiple anti-viruses, etc. it isn't good as they can conflict and consume too many resources impacting system performance. If you have one that came with your system, and it's out of date, uninstall it prior to installing one of the ones mentioned.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with a Mac (I should get one since being an "IT Guy" I get a lot of questions on Mac...). I believe there is one available for them, which comes by default with the OS. But, please, don't hold me to it.

The key to all of this is to keep your system(s) up to date. If they aren't, set them up to automatically install the updates. You can schedule it for a time when you aren't on your computer, so long as it's powered on and with a network connection.

Yes it's done by bots I really didn't think you could protect yourself fully from it.
Has anyone tried these anti-virus programs etc and if it works? I can't see how but then I'm not so techie... hehe...

Windows isn't the most secure OS. Not having an antivirus installed and having it up to date is like playing Russian roulette.

Also, an antivirus software has nothing to do with combatting a bot recording you and wouldn't do anything against them. It's like cutting up an orange to stop your car from needing an oil change--the two are completely independent from one another.

Anti-Virus programs won't help against the cam shows being recorded. I made the suggestion for her to run an full system scan because of the link she was sent could have been used to install a virus, trojan or malware on her system.

Wait, you run windows and don't have anti virus? Is it at least patched and up to date?

Windows 10 has an antivirus always running now, and a firewall, whether or not you install one. She is protected if she has that OS.

Yeah, I've found links to videos of myself too. So far just in free chat. Supposedly having a copyright sign somewhere in view and playing licensed music helps dissuade pirates, but if you're gettin naked on the internet, its pretty much a given it will be redistributed without permission, unfortunately. Does MFC still have DCMA help? I saw it referenced in an old post but haven't found it yet.

While this is true that Win10 comes with a built-in A/V and F/W, if it is a system such as Dell, HP, etc. it might have come with mcAfee, Norton, etc that might have disabled it and is now expired.

Too many variables to know based upon the little info we have.

In windows 10, as soon as some other anti-virus is expired, disabled, or uninstalled, Defender is automatically started and monitoring your computer. You have to go out of your way to specifically NOT have an antivirus running at all times in Windows 10. Defender is specifically designed to never be permanently disabled by the casual user. There's no 'off' switch anymore and you can't uninstall it. It's integrated. The only way to turn it off for most users is to install a working 3rd party antivirus.

To disable Defender on your own, without having another antivirus installed, you have to use the Group Policy Editor and the registry. Given the person was asking about what to use, I'm guessing she hasn't done that. So, if she has Win 10, she has an antivirus running. Always.

Most of these ass holes sites are built like an onion. Even if you find one of the sites, get it taken down. They have 100+ more sites.

i swear this would make me stop camming all together lol but i definitely cam less now because i searched my Cam name on google and seen a few pics of me!!!!! not videos tho. that alone scares me but i know thats what happens in this biz.

For what it's worth. most of the video online are recordings from public. There are still recordings of privates and groups, but it happens allot less. And all it takes is one overzealous fan.

I would almost guarantee there are recorded videos of you out there. Heck, the pics you found on google might even just be the pic gallery attached to the video.

I'm not saying this to be mean, just let you know that if a video of you camming would be so bad you would quit you may really want to rethink this. Every cam-girl is recorded almost constantly. It is unavoidable, if it hasn't happened for some crazy reason yet it will very soon, 100%.

Yeah, that doesn't help - those people are already breaking the law and are aware of what they are doing, so adding a reminder wont help. At most having your model name on the video feed will help on the rare case of people finding the video on a tube site and wanting to know more about you.

Yes that's what I thought too.....it didn't really sound right... :)
