hi. :) I'm a new camgirl and very new to the site. I just joined Chaturbate a week ago (my name is moonnymph) I had some questions about tumblr and being a camgirl..

Do any of you guys use tumblr and link it to your cam profile on whatever site you use?
What types of things should I share/post on tumblr ?
I don't like/understand Twitter, so is tumblr an OK substitute ?
Do I need to use social media or should I just stick to Chaturbate only ?

im on the same boat with you, i never caught on to the whole twitter trend. I dont think many people will look at tumblrs though unless they have one of their own. Social media does have an affect on your camming career- prob instagram and twitter being the most important (not including snapchat). If you're not gonna do a twitter id say do instagram instead to make up for it as it will most likely attract more people than a tumblr would

A lot of camgirls do this. Look around the forum in camgirls' signatures and you're bound to find a tumblr. Browse through it and you'll probably find other camgirls too. There's also a thread in this forum where camgirls post the links to their tumblr. Same for twitter.

What types of things should I share/post on tumblr ? Whatever you like. You can keep it as professional/casual/personal as you feel comfortable with.

No major social media can substitute another one IMO. Instagram/twitter/tumblr all serve different purposes, forms of interaction, and target audiences. For example, twitter is best for quick updates and such, because it shows how long ago it has been tweeted and has a low character limit. I personally prefer twitter to post about when I'm going live, although I usually post on both through tumblr (you can link your twitter to your tumblr).

Do I need to use social media or should I just stick to Chaturbate only ? Whatever is best for you. Do what you can, but don't take in more than you can handle. Some camgirls have a heavy presence on social media, others not so much. It all comes down to personal preference and the time you're willing to invest in it.

Twitter and Tumblr are like two different worlds for me. They both have good and bad attributes.
Twitter brings in a lot more traffic and is easier to use when announcing you're going live. But there's a whole sea of fake accounts and freeloaders. I always get messages asking for videos, which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't get angry when I tell them they cost money. I've even been catfished on there.:stop:
Tumblr on the other hand, doesn't seem to get me much traffic at all. Just peeps that wanna reblog you for porn blogs, but exposure is exposure. And again, there are problems with catfishing/fake accounts, but not as much as on twitter. People can repost your images without crediting you very easily though. What I absolutely LOVE about tumblr though is that all of the other cam girls/sex workers have a very strong and supportive sense of community on there. Something about tumblr just calms me down. I'll goof off there for a while if my on cam anxiety has me down. Great place to go and vent and reblog stupid memes and pretty pics (at least that's what I use it for)
So yeah, it really depends on how you feel like using them and what you use them for.

I think it's more of a matter of what social media works best for your and your regulars. In my case, I love Twitter. I use it to post updates and converse with my regulars when I'm not on cam. It just works. I think most cam girls and members have a Twitter. I used to have an Instagram but saw no benefit from it. Just people that would like my photos and steal the photos even (haha) so I eventually removed it because it took too much of my time for so little reward. Tumblr, I never bothered with.

Everything she said, is exactly on point.

Does anyone know any tumblr blogs that shout out/reblog cam models looking for exposure?

To my knowledge the best option is to appropriately tag your posts and that can add to some significant exposure. Re-blog, and re-blog and queued your posts! Also the mass editor is a faster way to tag up to 100 posts at a time. Also if you don't already have twitter, get an account and set it up that every time you post on tumblr it will also post on your twitter account. It'll keep both social media outlets relevant and regularly active.

I didn't even think of connecting them, best advice I've seen all day! Thank you!
