Sitting here dryly watching things unfold, remembering the warnings that if Hillary got elected we would wind up in a war with Russia.

Realizing I am going to have to give up rumint, or coffee, or both if I am going to keep my sanity.

    Then this:

Lionel Nation's impersonation of what some refer to as "patriotards" never fails to amuse me. This one doubled me over. :hilarious:

I couldn't listen to all the wishy-washy pc crap... but Tucker Carlson usually tries to cut through all bovine excrement relentlessly which is one of the reasons I like his show so much.

Well when I watch the CFR circus clowns, I generally find myself agreeing more with Tucker than idiots like Hannity. Fun to watch him mock neocons and the SJW types.

But at the end of the day, he is just there to make the "Muh Jebus and muh Flag" crowd feel like they are getting their licks in. Sort of like the way Mika and Joe try to prop up a sense of moral and intellectual superiority on the other side.

You know what is kinda interesting? The way that this insult got attached to one side. Was a time when even the most liberal of people disliked social justice warriors. A social justice warrior was usually just some idiot trying way too hard to look like a good person online by showing how much more progressive they are. Sometimes you'd get delusional white American girls talking about the privilege of others. Sometimes it was when they would try to co opt the struggles of minorities in hilarious efforts to not seem like the most privileged group in America. White knights that are really just old school misogynists were common too. Always rushing in to save the weak and incapable woman. Better treat and speak to women differently because we can't expect much of them and can't hurt feelings because those are really important to the delicate flowers. Defend her honor against any man that try to treat her or see her as an equal. Those dudes were always the worst.

Point being, both sides despised these types and equally enjoyed mocking them. SJW is now so ingrained with liberals. Almost as if it was tactically done. One interaction with a sjw type pretty much guarantees that person will want nothing to do with the party that the sjw is aligned with. Know plenty of people that aren't really conservative at all but will vote that way because they hate the other option way more. Sounds stupid to decide based on that but political scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred. The way the party appears will be more important than how they really are. Think of all the young people that will become Republicans simply because they won't support the SJW party. Also, relax warriors. Was a song lyric and a joke among pals, I'm sure Arkansas and its inhabitants are just lovely.

Shepard Smith still around? Always seemed like a good dude.

My first run-in with an SJW was the early 90s. Some mish-mash of radical feminism, LGBT rights (she was lesbian), and racial stuff (she was white, but militantly anti-white). Didn't run across anybody like her again over the years. Came as quite a surprise over the last 2 years catching up on all the campus chaos that I had tuned out, to find out there were a whole bunch more spouting similar shit nowdays.

We were all eating lunch one day, she went on a rant and spouted a bunch of anti-men stuff, how we were holding the human race back, soon we were going to be eradicated and humans would reproduce by joining female eggs...she was dead serious, had us all cracking up. Figured that would be the only time I heard it, but no; I ran across the same thing about a year ago on a left site.

Almost as if it was tactically done? We think alike. I have had the nagging suspicion for a while now that this was the desired result. Supporting that notion is a bit from Christina Hoff Sommers, a.k.a. The Factual Feminist; I listened to a lecture by her, she mentioned how in the early 90s I think it was, the curriculum she was teaching was suddenly injected with what she calls conspiracy theories.

Guess I'm being a pedantic historian of the language. SJW is a new term, about five years old. Social Justice is nothing new in sloganeering. In a war of words it's important to keep a timeline.

Well not if you believe the Washington Post (and I suggest you take anything you read there with a grain of salt, at least until you have had time to research further).

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...a-gamergate-insult-is-now-a-dictionary-entry/
According to this the term has been around much longer, it just became a pejorative more recently.

More on Tucker...last night he had a feminist on discussing the shutdown of Backpage. She pointed out some good things.

Tucker didn't have anything but his stupid sneers and derision for her, and an insult about how he suffer from such flawed think back when he was a dumb young Libertarian. Very reminiscent of his disdain for 9/11 truthers.

I occasionally enjoy some of his segments, but he is no one to follow. He is no champion. Just an opportunist clown juggling for the circus.

Abby Ohleiser of WaPo had it wrong, then right, then wrong again all in one article. Wrong: it's older than 2014. Right: warrior used to be used as a lionizing description. Ministers speak of warriors for Christ, and she gave that case as an example, along with a song writer using it the same. These days warrior is a bad word, at least in song. And then she was wrong again by using her Google power to find something similar that was a whole different discussion.

Wouldn't surprise me if she was wrong and just twisting the facts to fit her narrative. She sorta strikes me as a super SJW type, or at least an ally (but I haven't searched through all her articles looking for the word "marginalized" to confirm my suspicion).

Can't find the obituary from 1992 that she referenced except on some newspaper archive site that requires a membership, not really worth the trouble of joining just to try and fact check her. Let's just say she has a liberal arts degree from NYU and leave it at that. Ugh...

First time seeing SJW used was probably like seven years ago. Was pretty common to see at a once very popular but now very close to defunct left leaning site. Left leaning probably doesn't do it justice. You were required to say toxic or gross or problematic at least once in every post. Kidding, wasn't that bad but it was dominated by those types. The term was usually used by liberals to insult other liberals. Maybe a year before Trump was when I noticed many embracing the term as a good thing. Before that I never saw it used or taken as anything but an insult.

Moral and intellectual superiority seems to be your bag.

The few times I've watched Tucker's show proved to me he does his homework and diligently tries to get beyond accepting the standard elusive political responses.

Never said anyone should "follow" him.

No idea where that came from. Very hurtful words Boce...
Strays off into infotainment a little too much for my taste.

Get the freak of the day out there and let them make a fool out of themselves; get a representative from the opposing side on, try to get a straight answer, wind up talking over each other...

Somebody whose agenda he agrees with comes on, he sits there and tries to look inquisitive while they lay out thier whole viewpoint uninterrupted.

Then there is that stupid little game show thing he does, which I can't watch more than about 20 seconds of before I start biting my lip.

Maybe I was a little hard on him, didn't much appreciate the way he completely brushed of the feminist in the Backpage interview the other night; whether the site should or shouldn't have been shut down idk, but she made some points that deserved some follow-up and serious dialogue.

His interview with Max Boot, and the one with Rep Swalwell over the Memo, both were good. Highlighted the frightening derangement that has taken hold in the Democrat party.
No you didn't, but that is why Fox has him out there.

He's pretty much lumped in with Joy Reid and Lawrence Wilkerson in my book. The strawman "debunkings" the fake left's puppets offer have worn pretty thin for me (Shep's Uranium One bit that got so much attention a while back is a prime example of this).

I took a look at Shep's presentation of corporate swill regarding Syria today just for kicks. Needs more makeup.

How dare you besmirch a fair and balanced gentleman such as Shep. Can't believe I once called you pal. In a strange coincidence, had the same thought every few minutes when watching that new HBO documentary on Andre the Giant. Very few had any makeup and the decades of blading their foreheads looked gruesome.

UK so-called journalists ask hard questions like how do you sleep at night?

Chemical weapons are banned, they're illegal and it should not happen, says Theresa May.

    Sound familiar?

Made the mistake earlier of not spelling things out for people. Didn't make it simple enough. Was quickly met with an embarrassing post rating. A bummer but still hilarious.

I get called an SJW all the time. Personally I think there's nothing wrong with calling out people who are being legitimately hateful or with being a generally kind and tolerant person, in fact I think there's something wrong with not being that way. I do think it's ridiculous to want to take away peoples rights to their opinions and to their personal liberty, I also think its embarrassing seeing people get so emotionally distraught over tiny things, and the self hate in white north americans is unreal.

I think SJW is a term that's super overused and is now used to describe anyone who has a left leaning opinion at all ever, which is unfortunate. The majority of liberal or left leaning people aren't like this but unfortunately radical hysterical people tend to scream the loudest.

I think that may have been caricatured to the point of uselessness. If there was ever any worth in calling people out to begin with, it has been lost in an abyss of absurdities.
There was a woman I knew years ago that was deep into the Word of Faith garbage (Wikipedia describes as this the teaching that Christians "can access the power of faith or fear through speech"). She was nuts, name it and claim it, all that jazz.

The Lord poured out his blessings upon her after her husband died; she was going on vacations, buying new things left and right, still paying her tithes...all with credit cards and loans secured with property. God blessed her minister mightily too, he is still a very wealthy man; she, on the other hand, wound up indigent.

The whole SJW thing reminds me of her; the preoccupation with speech, the naive conviction that her doctrine was correct...and similar to the huckster preacher she was taking her cues from, it looks to me like the Marxist ministers in academia/media/politics are the only ones really profiting from it. I guess the difference would be that she was running around claiming blessings mostly, whereas the SJW crowd is hellbent on running around correcting other peoples perceived sins.

I still lean left on some things. The Jimmy Dore Show, for instance, gets a number of things right imo; but I get super repulsed when he brings up the SJW stuff.

    Well this is interesting....

I haven't really watched OANN too much, just a few times here and there. No idea if they have any credibility, or if they are as worthless as cnn/msnbc/fox. Could be just as staged as the rest of the media for all I know.

So, US president announces desire to leave Syria. Suddenly, another gas attack! Oh the children! Look at the pictures of their poor little foaming mouths on Twitter! And Nikki Haley says New York City could be next!

    Damn you Assad!!! [IMG]

The whole thing (along with the Skripal incident) has taken on a "Great Kabuki" feel (no offense to Japanese culture here, referring to the professional wrestler from years ago.)

White supremacists howling "We knew it!!! Trump is cucked by the Jews!!!"
Trump supporters howling "I'm done with MAGA!!! We have been had!!!"
Trump supporters (the Q anon faction) "Trust the plan!!! Trump's missile strikes only hit deep state elements in Syria!!!"
Neocon-ish people "Assad is a bad bad guy!!! We have our red lines!!!"
Left leaning anti-war types "The military industrial complex..."
Fake left MSNBC loons "Wag the dog...it's all about the porn star..."

Never mind the White Helmets getting a Nobel Peace Prize...I think everyone involved in this needs to win an Oscar.

Some interesting rumors/speculation about that, namely that Kim wasn't even in control of North Korea. Nothing but a powerless figurehead. That's been passed around as fact among the Q Anon faithful for a while, but I saw someone who can't stand the whole Q thing lend it a degree of credibility with his own dot connecting regarding Trump's Asia visit, Pompeo's secret visits, and Chinese military activity.

Not really that much of a stretch when you consider the 2016 South Korean scandal, or the degree to which Western governments have been co-opted.

Hope it ends well, along with the whole Syria/Iran thing.

    edit:
A correction, I meant to say Lawrence O'donnell, dispenser of falsehoods for MSNBC. Not Lawrence Wilkerson (former aide to Colin Powell).
