Starting today I'm turning the chat box off unless they are models I know and respect, then I'll mute guests and basics like normal. Terrible last few days reading the chats in some rooms. Wiener punches all around. :lol:

I rarely go to rooms of people I don't "know". I believe in KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) so I usually go to the same rooms over and over again

I know some of the people around drive me NUTS but hey, it's part of the game.

I usually only go to one room (although I was in Alex's room the other night). And I must say, in that room all the people are practically idiots and aren't worth talking to. So I mute the model and ignore everyone else. Sorry Amber, I still love you. Maybe if you played more Tears for Fears...

Sorry to hear this, but I know a lot of prems having to do this lately either because models are harassing them for tokens or other members are harassing them because they are fans of some model said member hates. hope i'm cool enough to be on your friends list. ;D lol

Not so much that really, but the members comments to the models in general. They just come up with such stupid, juvenile drivel it has surpassed insanity. In the past few weeks it's gone from good conversation to just nonsense with disrespect all over it. I feel bad for the new women on the site having been thrown in, but with little moderation as far as conduct, both self and external via administrators, they are left to their own accord. I've got some damn thick skin (I've been on Internet forums before they were "cool") and let a lot of stuff said to me fall on deaf ears. First were the guests, then the basics, now everyone as far as general rooms go. Since most women talk in response (which is awesome! BTW) I have little to concern myself with regarding other members unless they are in my friend's list. Then it's mute basics. I suppose I have to give the new women time to develop and mold their "regulars" but man those early days are rough. :mrgreen:

In my experience the preferred method of token whoring is via PM. I put my PMs to friend only and I'm not harassed anymore. I've also stayed away from non-North American models as the "foreign" models were the most guilty of bugging the fuck out of me for tokens. Those two actions on my part have seemed to cull the ones needing culling. I did have one hilarious fight between two models over me though. That was a fun night.

I'm very lucky that I haven't been hounded for tokens as I do admit I do agree with you about staying away from models that don't treat people right as I have my list of friends & know that I love them & respect them for who they are not because they're models as attitude is everything. Use your best judgement & if you know a model is up to wrong doing report it to MFC & they'll be dealt with appropriately. I'd hate to see some good models leave due to models that are breaking the rules & I'd feel upset that one of you guys left if you knew that you did the right thing especially if you saw anything illegal.

Honestly, if you're just turning off the chat completely, why not just go to the lounge? It's getting a bit overrun with pimps (and presumptuous premiums who think they're models), but there's still a few cool Lizards (oxymoron!!) around, and on a really slow day (read: none of the models who frequent these forums are online) you're more likely to stumble upon a halfway-literate conversation in the lounge than you will in a room where you feel you have to turn the chat off.

At least, that's my take on it. I'd be lying if I said I really knew where you were coming from, because I've only actually logged onto MFC just to perv out maybe twice in the three years I've been loitering around there. ^_^;; When none of my homegirls are online, I go out of my way to find new people to hang out with. I mean, hey, that's how I found D0mino (who I don't spend nearly enough time with ... sorry, babe, you're super cool, I'm just a lazy bitch, ).

I like to make my presence known in a model's room by being there rather than hiding in the lounge. I've been there several times before and can't say I've ever had meaningful conversation with the crowd.

I am much less likely to carry on a full conversation in PM. I rarely have the PM window in focus, so if someone was to just watch me there, and want to respond to something I was doing at the time, I wouldn't see it 'til much later. I like to remind those who speak to me often in PM that I can follow their conversation much better in public chat so I can respond verbally without confusing everyone.

You sure about that? Because I've never had a pm window open just from a guy perving me through pm... they have to actually pm me. But then, I don't get pm windows, I get pm TABS. At least, when I'm logged in through the model program, I do. Haven't been able to get such a thing through the website, as great as that would be. (Always did prefer tabs to windows. Yup that's true. If they don't PM me I don't see their PM window if they're just watching there.

And gawd I remember the first week I was on MFC and didn't realize I could group the PM windows into one with tabs. What a life saver.
