Yeah I hear that similarity too. I just really like the vibe of songs like these, glad you like it too.
Maybe it's the background banjo, reminds me of Mumford & Sons now that I think about it. Hmm

I LOVE this one. However in my mind I replace all the she pronouns with "he"/ "his" etc.
So I hear like "I met a bad bitch at the D, let me tell you how I made him leave with me" or I'll hear "Shake that ass for me, shake that ass for me, c'mon Boy shake that ass for me"
"I want a bitch to sit at the crib w no boxers on..."
