Hello, this is my first post and I apologize that it is a request.

I was on a model's profile a few days ago and I clicked on an image she had posted that led me to her Imageshack -- her actual real-life Imageshack. She used her real name on that account which is also her real Facebook name...yikes!

I no longer have a premium account on MFC. I used a pre-paid debit card the first time I bought tokens, as I didn't really trust the porn company owned by some shady dude named after an astronomical sign, of who the Internet has nothing but glowing things to say about -- silly I know. Anyways, foolishly I believed they were trustworthy so I went ahead and bought more tokens, this time with my actual credit card and the next day my account was flagged. Long story short, after declining to send a porn company a copy of my drivers license I no longer have an account with MFC therefore I can not contact this model via MFC. On a long shot I tried contacting her via Twitter with no luck. I thought about contacting her on Facebook but that would probably scare the bejesus out of her and I don't want to be the reason someone loses sleep -- or, you know, has a heart-attack. So since the models on this site are easily distinguishable I figured I try asking one of you for help. So I'm asking if a MFC model would be so kind as to PM so I can give you her MFC name in order for you to inform her of the HUGE mistake she has made -- there are a lot of bad dudes out there and it's only a matter of time before one of them clicks on that link.

Thank You

Just in case you didn't know, your account was flagged because you used a pre paid card and then tried using a credit card. They most likely now believe you might be trying to commit fraud, which is totally fair enough, as it's such a shady, dodgy website they get a lot of people trying to commit fraud and other such illegal acts and they don't condone it. So them asking you to send a copy of a drivers license isn't so they can access all your personal information blah blah, they really don't give a crap about that, it's to make sure you're not breaking the law.

Now I don't know much about imageshack, but is it actually connected to someone's facebook already? Because yes, that's really very dangerous if it is. I'm more curious as to whether you saw the real name and then went and searched for her name on facebook and came acrosss it?

I know why they did it but it doesn't make me anymore comfortable or willing to give them my drivers license. Besides, one would think the owner the credit card(IE:me) not disputing the charges may be an indication that it was actually my credit card I was using. They're hundreds of ways they can verify a person is the card holder. They just happened to pick the one that costs them a legit customer.

I'm not sure if her Imageshack is connected to her Facebook. I saw a name other then her MFC name and searched it thinking it was either an old cam name or her name on another site as, not to be mean, her real name is actually more porn sounding then her cam name. When I saw the Facebook and realized that was her real name it freaked me the hell out. I work in cyber security so I just can't understand why someone would take that kind of risk.

Would you be willing to let her know?

If you're so concerned why don't you find her twitter or *gasp* verify your info for MFC and log in and tell her?

And as for not disputing the charges being proof, most people don't know their cc info has been stolen until they get the bill, sometimes even later.

Also, if I remember correctly, you should be able to use your account still, you just can't buy token.

I find it weird when guys get goofy about signing up for porn sites, especially ones as big and trusted as MFC. But since it keeps coming up...

The reason MFC can be a bit of a bitch when it comes to verifying your information is because MFC doesn't do chargebacks like on a lot of websites. I believe that if someone uses a stolen credit card to buy tokens and it's charged back MFC eats the loss instead of the model. This is a HUGE security feature that makes our lives a lot less stressful. I know it's a pain in the ass, but they do this for the model's sake.

When I signed up for MFC as a premium I had to send them my information as well because they saw my IP as being the same as a model's. It's really not a big deal.

I'm at a complete loss right now. The narrative of this thread was meant to be how the hell do I prevent a naive girl from getting ratted-out or blackmailed or God knows what else and instead it's been turned into a discussion on MFC's asinine verification process...really? That's what were taking away? Really? That's the real issue here? It's a wonder why no one goes out of their way to help a fellow human being out anymore. I will try to find another way of helping this girl as coming here clearly was a monumentally bad idea.

As was said, if you're so incredibly worried about it, verify your MFC account and tell her. Or find her twitter and tweet at her.

Your premium account should still be active. Are you sure you can't log into that? What happens if you try? They usually don't ban accounts for CC disputes like that.

If nothing else, contact her on FB. It's not necessarily a bad thing if she gets a little freaked out. If she is worried, it will make her more cautious in the future.

I really don't understand why everyone seems to be jumping down this guys throat for asking his question.

Because it's silly that he won't trust a huge site like MFC with a photocopy of his ID but he wants us to accept trusting the "right person" to PM him here and find out a model's RL name and information.

It drives me insane when people don't trust shit like banks and huge sites.

I had a helpful guy come to me in the past and tell me he found out my real name and some other personal stuff. I was very glad he came to me and told me...and I knew he had been searching out all of my info. I could tell he was nervous to tell me, and it did make me a little upset that he violated my privacy, but he helped me to seal up that hole so no one else could get my info. So I suggest you find a way to let her know personally...either through MFC, or somewhere else you found her.

No, please don't do this. Sometimes fear itself is worse than what could happen. To know that a member has not only seen your name but has tracked you down onto facebook, and then messaged you in your personal space, it's not just a massive shocker, it's a violation. Members messaging models on their real facebooks is NEVER ok. Hands down. Do not ever put a model in that position, however good your intentions are, the act of you doing that is worse than a bunch of dudes finding out her real name. Chances are, you doing this will be the worst thing that'll ever happen in her camming career, whether or not she keeps her name out in the public.

I would also not tell a member the model's name if a member asks. Only a model, but personally I'm wary of doing this. As much as it sucks that this model has done this, I don't feel it's my duty to go around messaging every model who has a security flaw and who's security flaw leads a curious member to google her name and find her on facebook.

God, for all I know it isn't her real name and is just a cover name and it isn't even her real facebook- and yes, lots of people do that.
One of my regulars freaked out recently because while searching for another friend on facebook he saw a picture of a girl called Isabella, the picture was kind of arty/black and white and not very clear, though personally I don't think it looked anything like me. He freaked out completely thinking he'd found me. As though it'd be so easy to find my real facebook account as to type in "Isabella" on facebook.

And yes, loads of bad stuff could happen blah blah, and yes, loads of bad stuff does happen, all the time, but honestly, the chances of someone ever putting my life in danger because they found out my real name are slim. This girl may not actually care about members knowing her real name. I've had a few guys threaten me with this sort of crap, and really, I don't give a fuck, my friends and family know what I do, I live with a really strong, muscley dude and I can kick some ass when needs be. My location is also not remotely connected with my name, even my family use different work names and don't have facebooks with that name. The most anyone can do is blackmail me with the threat and look up some uber cool facts about my families past achievements! Woooo! Happy wanking! As much as I'd rather people don't know my name, it wouldn't be the end of the world for me if it came out.

I'm also just going to throw in that seeing a name that clearly isn't connected to the camgirl in question, whether or not it looks like a porn name, it is NOT cool to search for that name and actually go onto a facebook page of that searched name without asking the model if it was cool first. Not cool at all. I get you're posting this to try and help her, but you did cross the line into her personal space. Her stupidity, but let's face it, any dude who goes as far as googling and going onto a facebook page knows that there's a chance they're going to find the girls real info, you can disguise it however you like, but it is what it is. Not entirely your fault as people are kind of made that way and everyone gets curious, but in future, try and get hold of the girl before googling.

wolfgang1013 shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the info to her. If he can't send her an MFC mail, he might as well send an FB message. In either case, she'll know he knows her FB.

If she's the type who would freak out that much if she got an FB message, it's better she find out sooner than later. That way she can break the link before even more guys find it. Eventually one of those random guys will be scummy and do a lot more than just tell her the pic somehow links to her FB.

When I first got started in adult work, I was not smart about it at all, and the name was easily tracked down to my personal stuff (I used a nickname that many people called me, because it was unusual). I mean... I was reaaaaaally silly about it. I got a fan message to my personal FB from a fan, who showed me a forum link from members who had tracked down all of my personal links and posted them: FB, Myspace (yup, it was back then), every photoshot I had done at the time. It was pretty terrifying.

But I learned an extreeeeeeemely valuable lesson. I perform under a different name, and I am crazy paranoid about what I post - if I post an image on an adult profile of some sort (even clothed), I won't use it under my normal modeling name, because I would be worried that it could possibly lead a trail back to my real info. Yay Google image search!

I am new to these forums.... But I know that as scary as that initial stranger message was.... I was grateful for the heads up. Now I am a lot better at keeping my tracks hidden. I wouldn't have known, however, unless that person hadn't given me a heads up. It's better for her to learn now, from a source who isn't going to cause trouble for her, rather than later when it could be so much worse. :(

This is slightly different as this person had actually posted all that info up. I'm not sure if they'd also posted up any of your camming info so to this person they might not have realised there were other forms of contact. As a rule it's something as a member I would seriously avoid. I would be really pissed off if a member ever contacted me via facebook or anywhere that's personal to me. It's not cool. If there are other ways around it then always do those first, especially as it's not like the image linked to her facebook, it just had a personal name and the member went from there. If someone else had linked him to the facebook then it might be different, but they didn't.

This is why all models should have their facebooks on lockdown so it's not possible to search for them/message them/add them if you're not already a friend or a mutual friend. Knowing someone's name isn't all that dangerous, having access to their facebook is. Models should also make sure their phone numbers and addresses aren't on any forms of registry's.

I also don't know what Nick means about "jumping through hoops" to contact her... He's not having to "jump through hoops", there are some pretty easy ways to contact a model, and seeing as he's taken the time to search out her facebook I think he's already jumped through some hoops. There are other ways to contact this girl, there is no need to freak the fuck out of her by contacting her on her personal facebook. That is an ultimate last resort, maybe some girls would be fine with it, but honestly I wouldn't want to take the risk. Kind of like seeing a girl walk down a dark alley and realising how dangerous that is, you could either wait for her to leave the dark alley and tell her that it was a stupid idea when she's back in the light with people around to approach her, or you could actually catch up with her and approach her in the dark alley, you know, give her a good scare to prove your point. Sure you don't intend on actually causing her harm, but it'd still be quite a traumatising situation for her as she wouldn't know that you don't mean her harm.

I believe Facebook has removed/is removing the ability to hide yourself from searches.

Yep, he's right. I'd definitely say for models who do use Facebook, use a different name (a nickname or a weird spelling of your name) and a photo that isn't of you/your face/anything people would recognize. Also if it's still an option, get your friends list locked down so even if someone did find you, they can't see your friends.

God, wtf facebook? I loved that setting and actually liked having my real name in use, though I had considered changing it, but I feel like even if I change it people could still potentially find me, I'd have to totally change it and that's a pain in the arse.

I've written to them complaining about this. Maybe if other camgirls also complain they might actually put the feature back... the annoying thing with facebook is they don't tell you when they change the features that effect you!

FB changes have been in the news quite a bit. That's how I found out about them. Google is a bit more forthcoming, in that they bug you about changes you can't do anything about.

Remember: If you are not the customer, you are the product.

while i may think his hesitation is silly also, I think his heart is in the right place and it sounds like he is trying to help...

If you need me to mfc mail her (if someone hasn't sorted this out with you already) please pm me and I will take care of it for you

Yes, I believe they switched it so everyone shows up in searches back in August or so.

The checkbox to enable hiding yourself had been removed about a year ago but they continued to honor the setting up until Graph Search went live for non-beta users.

God this is just so fucked up, they even say that you shouldn't be able to google search my name, but I just did that, and yes you can! You can see all sorts of lovely info, my name, my pictures and my boyfriend's name and the link to his profile is someone wanted to know even more info. Why on earth do they bother removing things like that which work perfectly well?! It's a pain. I don't want to change my name as even if I do, the information is still available for people to find. I guess yup, it's now the situation of never having my face on my profile in case some idiot decides if they see my name anywhere connected to mfc to google the name up and take a look at my facebook. Fuck dudes like this for this crap.

I know I'm a few days late to the game, but here's my thoughts on the matter. Dude found a weird name on Instagram. He became curious. AS WOULD ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. Please do not put blame on him for searching for it. Hell, I get curious and search for info on my regulars sometimes just cause I'm bored. In fact, it's good that he's so honest about it. Most users would have searched, found her facebook, possibly address or phone number, and posted it all over [site name banned*3]. I just want to say that while his premise of not trusting mfc is a bit odd, his intentions were good. We need more honest members like you, wolfgang.

I can log into my account but they put me back as a basic. Kinda puts an arrow though that "lifetime premium" guarantee, huh?

Okay, I recently took up Buddhism in an attempt to be kinder and more tolerant of people. So if any of the following seems arrogant, snutty, know-it-all-ish, or otherwise preachy, I apologize -- some days are better then others.

1. MFC is not a "huge site" sure they have lots of traffic but in terms of "hugesness" they're a small company with probably a handful of employee's most of which are coders and IT lackeys.
Ebay/Paypal and Amazon are "huge sites." When was the last time either asked you for your ID? I'll go ahead and answer that for you -- they never have. Why is that? Simply put, they don't want it. When you give an online company a piece of personal data, whatever it may be, they become responsible for the safety of that data. Now when you give Paypal your credit card number they lock that number in a secure database and prey to the security Gods that no outside source gains access to it. But in the event someone does their butts are covered by A) their massive insurance policy and B) the issuer of the card holder(IE: banks and credit card companies.)
How is this relevant to id or drivers licenses, ect? How often does your credit card or bank send you a new card? every 2-4 years, right? Worse case scenario for website is they have to hold your credit card or debit number for 4 years(there are some with longer expiration dates, and sites account for that) and then they can dump it and it doesn't really matter if it gets into the wrong hands. Now how often do you move or get a new driver license number? My guess is not very often. I trust you understand why it's not in the best interest for companies to ask for a photo id or drivers license -- they would have to hold it securely and indefinitely.
Besides all that most credit card companies actually prohibit merchants from canceling a transaction's because of the customers refusal to show a photo ID as a condition for accepting their credit or debit cards. So the big question would be why don't the huge companies with thousands of employees and actual means of storing said data ask for my ID yet the porn site with a dozen or so employees, who refuses to guarantee the storage of private recordings does, even though their not allowed to?
And as if all that weren't enogh there is the little issue of me using "epoch" to buy the tokens yet it was someone from MFC asking for my photo ID...huh? Either MFC owns epoch, which they don't, or Epoch is illegally sharing customer data with one of their merchants. Either way, to be clear it's the later, there is no world in which I would give in to those demands...why would anyone?

2. MFC curently holds a "D+" ratting at the Better Business Bureau and is owned by Leonid Radvinsky who is the founder and operator of a password phishing site ultrapasswords.com and has been sued by Amazon and Microsoft for illegal phishing activities.

Seriously, am I really wrong not to trust them, really?

Finally, I'm sure this a nice site, I mean it looked like it, per the reason I signed up, but if it's all the same to you I'd appreciate you deleting my account as I'm not really all that interested in having my intelligence or motivations judged as a consequence for trying to do the right thing.

Thanks,

All The Best
