Who have you seen Live?

So last night I was thinking about who I have seen live (bands), and I realized that it's a total mish mash. Anyways I was wondering if everyone goes to see total random bands, or if I am just musically scattered? Would love to hear who ya'll have been to see live, and what you thought? I could also use it as recommendations for future shows too. Generally I go to cheaper shows, but once in a while I go see someone big. Alright here's my list to start out...

1) Flobots - really fun.
2) Gary Numan - LOVED!
3) Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) - LOVED!
4) Rev Peyton's Big Damn Band - LOVED!
5) Morrissey - Not so much my music thing, but fun. He flashed an image of the Queen of England flipping everyone the bird, which made me laugh really hard!
6) Flogging Molly - LOVED!
7) Necktie Killer - (smaller rock band) LOVED!

I think that's it. I have a vague memory of drinking a bunch of whiskey, and getting trampled in a mosh pit (that I stood too close to), but I'm not recalling what show that was. Maybe it will come back to me.

When I was a youngster I was dragged to some: Michael Bolton, Richard Marx, Mister Mr.
Also gladly went to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle LIVE show, and Janet Jackson.

As an adult:
Korn twice. And opening for them over those shows was Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach and Powerman 5000, so I guess they count too! Good times!

Incubus twice. The only opening act I remember from one of the shows was Clutch. More good times!

Blaqk Audio. Terrible show because the venue wasn't good acoustically for the weird heavy bass in their synth pop rock. I really only went to see Davey Havok because, Davey. (I would have rather seen AFI but whatevs, I dig their side project too.)

Coheed and Cambria. Fun time!

I was supposed to see Childish Gambino in 2018, but he canceled the show since he broke his foot.

Ohhh. Ive seen plenty of bands in concert. Im just gonna list off the top of my head but i know im gonna forget some.
First real concert was lynyrd skynyrd and Marshall Tucker band.
Next was Aerosmith and motley crue. ( ive seen crue 3 times now and it was always a good show)
I seen korn twice and Jonathan davis solo once. He performed the music from the movie "the queen of the damned" it was awesome. It was at the house of blues in Atlantic City and was an awesome experience.

Ive seen evanessence, trapt, papa roach, and six a.m.
The deftones.
Nine inch nails
Janes addiction. ( the best live band ive seen. And that says a lot) buckcherry. The zombies, the yardbirds and the spencer davis group all together.

Zz-top, the offspring, and puddle of mudd altogether ( still think the line-up was super wierd. Lol)

More recently i saw stone temple pilots and alice in chains. And just not long ago i seen twenty one pilots.
I know there are bands im missing out on right now. But I'm pretty introvert and concerts are like my chance to be an extrovert. I f'ing love concerts.

Who would you say were your favorite and least favorite concert you've seen?

Who would you say were your favorite and least favorite concert you've seen?

Interestingly Gary Numan, and I'm not really a fan of his music when I listen to it on radio, or online. But man did he put on an awesome, goth themed show. A lot of lights, a bunch of dark/ gothy photography, and a ton of gothed out folks that looked fricken amazing! I think all and all, it was just pure art, and I was really feeling it that night. Nice venue w good acoustics too. Like Amber mentioned, I really think that makes a huge difference. I think Gary Numan just hit all points on making a great show that night, even though I'm really not a huge fan.

Least fave; Morrissey, and Flobots.

Let's see. I saw The Glenn Miller Orchestra when I was a kid. I don't remember much about it, but I know at the time I enjoyed it. I saw BB King sometime in high school. I didn't know much of his music, it was more just the enjoyment of getting to see a legend play.

In middle school (I think anyway), I saw James Taylor with a friend. I knew a lot of his music, so it was a good show to see. Nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed it.

2011, I got to see my favorite band at the time, Set Your Goals. Small, intimate indoor venue. No barricade, I was one row of people away from the stage. During the last song, my favorite, Mutiny!, I got a mic shoved in my face and sang the last chorus.

2013, I went with my sister to see The Ghost Inside play at the Nile Theater in Mesa, Az. I had never heard them, but came away enjoying one of their songs, Unspoken. That was the only song I listened to from them until 2019 when my sister got tickets to their comeback show in LA. It was their first show back since a bus accident in 2015 left all members of the band dealing with life altering injuries. July 13th, 2019, I saw The Ghost Inside play a sold out show at the Shrine in LA. The show was absolutely incredible, and it left a lasting impression on me. So much so that I am going to see them in Massachusetts this year in July. I've completely fallen in love with all of their music, and they have a new album coming out soon.

Oh yeah i saw ghost b.c.ths same time i saw alice in chains and stone temple pilot's.

I want to see pearl jam but they sell out very quick around here. ( Philadelphia area). And the tickets are always expensive. There are a few bands i wanted to see and have regretted not. Tom Petty comes to mind.

My first concert was A Day To Remember with Pierce the Veil and Bring Me The Horizon as the openers. Michelle Branch and The GooGoo Dolls (I’ve seen them twice). Tom Petty opener was Regina Spektor. Kenny Chesney, openers were Kacey Musgraves, Eli Young Band and Eric Church. Lou Gramm from Foreigner. Hozier (twice). Sam Smith. The 1975 and Pale Waves opened. Tears for Fears and Hall and Oates. Greta Van Fleet. And Twenty One Pilots.

-Muse, with 30 Seconds to Mars co-headlining. Muse was one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
-Incubus, with Jimmy Eat World opening and Solange Knowles went on stage with them for a bit.

-Panic! At The Disco, this was back when Fall Out Boy was on hiatus, but the lead singer was the one who opened, Foxy Shazam also played that show
-The Slackers, and I've also seen Vic Ruggiero do a solo show

-Drake, it wasn't a legit show, it was at an after party at the club I was working at and he got on stage for a bit

Best concert: Rush - Counterparts tour (Primus opening act). But, Garth Brooks is a very close second!
Worst concert: Shania Twain's "Come on Over" tour. Almost walked out. Only reason why went to see the second show was gal i was dating really wanted to see her (she dumped me immediately after the concert)

There's a few artists I'd like to see yet. But, the last few times I've bought pairs of tickets to bring someone with, either they back out or I couldn't find a date. Probably ate about $1K in tickets over the years between concerts and other events where no one one went and it was an empty seat. I have an event at the end of March with an extra ticket I need to fill. After that, I'm done. I don't mind going solo to events, as a lot of times get better seats.

I preferred the smaller gig's mainly local bands or smaller artists on tour, I always found the smaller bar sized venues to be more enjoyable than stadium concerts.

I’m so jealous of this. I spent a good chunk of my early adult years obsessed with Brandon Boyd but never had the chance to see Incubus live. I have, however, seen Clutch more times than I can remember. Hot damn, they put in a good show!

The one with Paul Rudd?

Yep, Paul Rudd and Jason Segel. There were also a few other things with Rush tie-ins such as Fanboys and The Goldbergs and a number of other short videos all over you tube. The band is known for pulling a lot of pranks, or fun stuff. Such as this opening to their Time Machine Tour as well as a different opening. Sadly, with Neil Peart passing away in January, there's a lot of attention they're now getting that they didn't in years past. It' cool to see the tributes. But, still sad. I think I spent about three weeks after work just watching all the tributes I could.
