I’ve been getting into toast recently… a strong melted cheddar cheese on a thick-cut rustic bread toast with a good few dollops of Worcestershire sauce… or pâté on toast with sliced avocados…
Have you ever tried melted cheese and peanut butter toasties? One of my faves!

Emmm, because my son is now 10 years old and the place we live is quite "outdoors" (countryside, less neighbors, lot of land, clear sky, amazing atmosphere), we gaze at the stars at night up to 2 in the morning and our favorite snack is hot sandwiches with cheese and pepperoni. When is chilling outside, that hot and tasty snack is pure magic.

This may be an unpopular take, but Arby’s is underrated.

The trick is to order anything BUT their signature roast beef sandwiches, which are not great (IMO). But they have great sides, good chicken nuggets and non-roast beef sandwiches. I usually order the chicken cordon bleu sandwich or the turkey & Swiss, with curly fries, or jalapeño bites (or mozzarella sticks, if I’m totally abandoning my diet that day).

Yeah Arby's is underrated. I usually get the turkey bacon ranch, no onion. Crinkle fries.

Burger? Wendy's. Bacon double stack, plain.

Some questionable stuff there at the end LOL but that one in the middle with the giant round hashbrown with (parsley?) mayo sauce and green onion looked amaze.

I tried to respond to this the other day, but it looks like I never did submit the post.

For fries…McDonald’s is my favorite. I remember when Wendy's fries were sooooo freakin' good. Like in the 90s and earlier 2000s. Then they went and changed the taste. I guess made it more of a sea salt taste? I don't know. But they should've just left it tf alone. Lol. So now they don't even come toe-to-toe with McDonald's fries, imo. It's hands down McDonald's fries for me. Sometimes I won't even want anything else from there. Just two large fries, and a Tropic Berry Sprite. When that particular flavor of Sprite is available. I wish they (on DoorDash) would stop making it available only with a meal, and make it available as an individual standalone item too. So annoying. Lol. Sometimes the beverage is the thing I look forward to the most when it comes to my meal.

Sometimes I'll order Taco Bell as a late night meal via DoorDash. I'll get the 3 Crunchy Taco Supreme combo with Fire sauce, and a Baja Blast Mountain Dew.

Recently this grocery store near me has started stocking a dip that's basically just feta cheese and garlic, and I can't get enough of it it. I eat it with crackers or potato or corn chips.

Nothing beats fresh, hot fries from McDonald’s.

When I was 16 I worked at the local McDonalds - the fries were amazing. Really crispy and fresh.

It really makes you appreciate the well-run locations, too (the ones that ensure the food they serve is semi-fresh). There is a HUGE different between fresh fries and ones that have been sitting for 15 minutes. They’re heavenly when they’re fresh, but they deteriorate quickly.

My favorite go-to snack lately is more of a snack tray / charchoochie board. Think Berries, cheese, various dried and cured meats, maybe some crackers if I'm feeling extra munchy.
It's perfect to graze on while I'm doing afternoon editing or something lol

I'm an outlier there. Understand why many really love the McFry, but I can't go past good thick and slightly soggy chips/fries.
Probably something about growing up in the UK with the abundance of local fish and chip shops in every town - thick hot chips (fries) doused in brown vinegar, well-salted, and wrapped in paper, just hits the spot.

How about Belgian Fries? Cooked in beef fat!

Re condiments; not a fan of mustard. I only consume 2 condiments regularly. Hot sauce and ranch. Hot sauce is the best, I'll put it on everything. Not a huge fan of breakfast, but if I do eat it; eggs, one hash brown, fresh fruit. River of hot sauce over the top 🥳🥳 I'm that person that brings a bottle of hot sauce on vacation with them hehe.

I love McDonald’s but I’ll never order for delivery rather than in person or drive thru 🤷🏻‍♂️

Too many cold fries, missing items and wrong orders.

Always drive thru nowadays.

If you’re responding to my above post about ordering McDonald’s via DoorDash…I don’t drive, and the places I frequent aren’t near a McDonald’s. So the occasional times I do get it, it’s via DoorDash when I have a craving for it.

But yes…the fries are best when you get them in person. :) I went to a McDonald’s in person last week after my mammogram/ultrasound appointment, since there was one on the way to my next destination…and I was hungry.

No, not at all! It was just a general observation ☺️

When I lived in London I didn’t drive for a long time (no point with the Underground) so delivery was my only option - I always spent a good few minutes back on the app complaining about missing/cold items and getting back refunds.

Finally got around to trying a Big Arch from McDonald's.
VERY surprised, it was delicious.
The appearance of the 'white cheese' in the ads kinda put me off since it looked pale and bland, but in reality it was more yellow.
Anyway, I've found my new fave burger when I do hit the golden arches.

That Arch sauce is a serious, spicy rival to the Big Mac sauce. Definitely a winner.
