    Oh, I know this and there was no punishment, just a lot of horrified screaming from my dad while my mom grabbed an oven mitt to usher the poor animal back outside. (and when I say poor animal I mean the rat of course) We were just used to her killing anything she found in the house first!

    if it helps, my cat is defective too- last time she escaped she brought a rat the size of a small dog into the house and plopped it down on the breakfast table, still 100% alive and kicking. she also does the thing where they run around chasing nothing at 2 am, classic cat behavior.
