And PMs are fine for personal things that can't be shared in public, or specific questions, but if someone's having a conversation with you it's taking away from your public room.     I don't babysit, but I have a kid so I've paid babysitters. If the kid is still in a diaper the rates might go up a bit, but $15-$20/hr for two kids isn't out of the realm of reasonableness.
