Hey everyone,

I've been reading through discussions about different cam and creator platforms, and something I'm curious about is what actually makes a new platform worth trying from a model's perspective.

Obviously traffic and earnings are important, but I'm wondering how much the overall experience matters too.

For example, if you're trying somewhere new, what makes the biggest difference?

  • Being able to discover new viewers rather than bringing everyone yourself?
  • Having a straightforward dashboard and setup process?
  • Clear payout terms and reliable payments?
  • Being able to offer different services beyond livestreaming?
  • Having a decent profile that fans can explore when you're offline?
And on the flip side, what makes you give up on a platform before you've really had a chance to establish yourself?

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's tried both established and newer platforms, especially what you wish newer platforms understood better. All feedback is welcome because we're a new platform we can aim to facilitate functionalities where possible to ensure creators/streamers are able to maximise their earnings in their engagements with their online audience.

I like the idea of being able to discover new viewers because pulling them in yourself is very diffacult as my broadcast was dead most of the time. I think its because they were tired of us and moved on. or they may have lost their jobs or some other type of struggle. Having a straightforward dashboard would be helpful to new models. When I first used SC and Bongacams I had a tough time locating the controls and it took awhile to familliarize myself with the platform. The payments are already reliable, however, the issue is with the cardholder's company rather than the platform. They are overly secured and they place you in a nightmarish hell if your account is frozen. They want all four corners of a very large utility bill with your addres, name ext that will not fit on a tiny mobile phone screen and a laptop with an external camera doesn't work to wel either as it is unable to detect words correctly. They also want the front and back of your ID in the same photo! How is that logically possible?? It is a nightmarish hell on earth! It is nearly impossible to get approved!

I think SC should privide more interactive games as well besides wheel of fortune and battleship or upgrade the battleship game to make sounds and light up as the two games mentioned appear obselete and no one tips for these games anymore.
I also think some of the rules on these cam sites are a little harsh. These cam sites are sometimes too hard on the models and viewers. I have heard numerous complaints about cam sites banning models because they failed to have their Christmas lights on, bleeding accidently, technical issues that are beyond the model's control and sometimes banning models or viewers that haven't done anything wrong. Most appeals are rejected.

I like the idea of a decent profile that appears more attractive. I was thinking of purchasing a colorful light show that extends around the room such as aquarium designs that appear as an ocean blue themed light or like a purple swirl pattern. As a cam model you want to draw as much attention as possible to yourself. I also wear glitter makeup and shiny jewlery to attract viewers attention.

Thanks for taking the time to share all of that. Really useful to hear the practical frustrations, especially around verification and getting familiar with a new dashboard.

The point about ID verification caught my attention. I understand why platforms need checks, but the process itself shouldn't be unnecessarily difficult or confusing.

I'm also interested in what you said about your broadcasts being quiet. When you're trying a new platform, how long would you generally give it before deciding there isn't enough viewer activity to make it worth continuing?

I imagine there's a big difference between being patient with a new platform and spending hours broadcasting without anyone showing up.

All of the above but internal traffic and clear and reliable payouts are the top 2
Thanks, Lacey. I completely understand why internal traffic and reliable payouts would be the two biggest priorities.

One of the challenges with building a new creator platform is that attracting viewers and attracting creators are closely connected.

If a platform has very few completed creator profiles or available content, there's not much for new visitors to explore, even if the platform invests in advertising.

My thinking is that if creators are willing to establish a profile, add some public photos and occasionally upload content without committing lots of time initially, it gives a newer platform a stronger foundation to start promoting itself and attracting viewers.

Of course, that doesn't guarantee traffic or earnings, and I appreciate that creators have already experienced platforms where they've spent hours online with little activity.

Would you see any value in that kind of low-commitment approach while a platform builds its audience, or would you still prefer to wait until it can demonstrate consistent internal traffic?

I'm genuinely interested in your perspective.

I'd wait until it demonstrates traffic unless I was paid my hourly averages to be there. The way around this would be to pay creators guaranteed $$ to be on the site while you drive traffic.

My payout bank just made me look like an ass. My card was frozen but all I had to do is fill out the contact form and they unfroze my card without requiring all that ID stuff and four corners front and back in the same photo ext. They must not do that when its just frozen. I think only if you want a new card or account. Everything was taken care of and going nice ans smooth.

I would generally spend no more than 30 minutes before determining lack of viewer activity and ending the broadcast. If I spend an hour waiting for viewer activity our strip score and pay rate will lower and I feel so inadequate when that happens. That crushes my self-confidence. I take that personally because its a job where you get paid. I take my job serious.

I refuse to wait. I cannot bare the thought of my stip score loweing to zero with zero pay rate!

Thanks, Lacey. That's a fair point, and I completely understand your position.

If you're already earning on an established platform, it wouldn't make much sense to spend hours broadcasting somewhere new without an existing audience or some form of guaranteed compensation.

Your suggestion has actually got me thinking about whether there's a more manageable way for newer platforms to approach this.

Rather than asking models to commit to broadcasting hours immediately, what if a platform offered a one-off payment simply for getting established?

For example, completing verification, setting up an attractive profile, configuring the services you'd want to offer and uploading some existing content.

That would give the platform something worthwhile to promote while it works on attracting viewers, without expecting models to spend hours online earning nothing.

Out of curiosity, what would you consider a fair one-off payment for that initial setup?

And would you be more open to an arrangement where additional content uploads or activity could be compensated separately as the platform develops?

I'm genuinely interested in what would make that worthwhile from a model's perspective.

Thanks for explaining that. I completely understand why you wouldn't want to spend hours broadcasting without viewers, especially when it affects both your earnings and confidence.

To be honest, I don't think asking creators to livestream on a new platform before it has established viewer traffic is the right approach either.

My thinking is that newer platforms need to build things in stages.

First, get the platform and onboarding experience right. Then work with creators to establish attractive profiles, configure the services they want to offer and build up enough content and variety for visitors to explore.

Once there's a reasonable selection of creators and content, the platform has something meaningful to promote.

The intention would be to invest in advertising, search visibility and other marketing activities to generate traffic internally, rather than expecting creators to bring their own audiences just to make the platform viable.

We'd also look to work directly with a small number of willing creators to produce promotional content, such as reels and other suitable material, which could be used in advertising campaigns to drive visitors to their individual profiles and the wider platform.

Of course, building that traffic takes time, and there's no guarantee of immediate earnings. But I believe attracting viewers should be a responsibility the platform actively invests in, rather than placing the entire burden on creators.

That doesn't mean creators couldn't promote their profiles if they wanted to. We'd also be open to exploring additional incentives for those who choose to help with promotion.

For example, if a creator was happy to include their JiggleJiggle profile in their Linktree or equivalent, we could look at offering a small monthly payment for that additional visibility, separately from anything they might earn through the platform.

The important distinction is that this would be optional, not something creators would be expected to do just to participate.

I think that approach makes more sense than expecting models to spend hours broadcasting to empty rooms while a platform is still building its audience.

Would that kind of staged approach make a newer platform more appealing to you?

The best way to approach this is to drive traffic for models such s using a traffic shaper or promoter. (Just taking an educated guess.) It is very diffacult for a self proprieter such as a single creator to drive enough traffic to their platform and yes you can still allow models to promote their own traffic as well and invite friends from social media simular to what SC does.

Another approach that is very much needed would be consistant pay. If models invest hours on a broadcast and does not profit they are wasting their time. Allow models to set their own hours and remain flexable and pay for hours regardless of wherther viewers tip or not for their time.

Another thing to what out for is to whatch how you treat models. I believe many platforms are too hard on us. Some of the rules are unreasonable. One cam site repremanded me because they thought I was away from the cam while my legs and body was still in the camera's view. and was about ready to slap a fine.Another model was repremanded on another cam model site for not having Christmas lights on. On one cam model site if you bleed anywhere from your body by accident you are still in violation of the rules. These are a bit harsh and shouldn't be incoperateed into any cam site's rules. Models are sometimes repremanded for no reason because of some glitch and others are perminantly banned because they were mistaken for someine else. Bottom line is do not make models walk on egg shells please. If you follow my advice your cam site will be highly successful. I'm not stating all rules on these cam sites are unreasonable because some are not. Some rules are pretty reasonable.

If it’s just setting up a profile and adding some content and age verifying - I dunno? $50. If you want a lot of like 20 uploads - maybe $100 or more cos that takes a bit of time. If you want me to direct traffic there (like make a tweet, add a link to my site etc) maybe more.

You also have to figure out how to get that offer in front of me my DMs are full of random offers from shady companies. if another model I knew showed it to me and confirmed she’d been paid successfully I’d be more enthusiastic. A model ambassador would also probably make me take note if I already follow/trust them or can easily vet them.

My next concern would be the safety of my info. New sites pop up often, and are often unsafe and shut down fast. I’m always hesitant to hand my personal info to an untested site - extra transparency is ideal.

Thanks for the additional feedback. I think we're actually on the same page about a lot of this.

One thing I want to make clear is that JiggleJiggle doesn't dictate when creators should livestream or how many hours they should spend online. That's entirely their decision.

We also have a prohibited-content section within the creator dashboard, alongside our site policies, so creators can see what's permitted. Those rules apply to livestreaming too, but I'm certainly not interested in penalising someone simply because they step away from their camera momentarily.

At this stage, I don't think asking models to broadcast to empty rooms is a sensible approach anyway.

My immediate focus is getting our updated creator dashboard in place, helping creators establish attractive profiles and building a decent selection of content. That then gives us a stronger foundation to invest in advertising and attracting viewers ourselves, rather than expecting models to bring all the traffic.

We've already been working directly with creators on the onboarding experience. We recently ran a paid feedback exercise, and the suggestions we received helped shape our latest UI improvements.

Actually, given the experiences you've shared about dashboards, verification and how platforms treat models, I'd be interested in having you try JiggleJiggle yourself.

I'm not asking you to spend hours livestreaming. Initially, it would simply be a case of verifying your account, setting up your profile, choosing the services you want to offer and adding a little content.

I'd be happy to arrange a short call and personally walk you through the setup, so you can see how everything works and tell me what you think.

Would you be open to giving it a try?

Thanks, Lacey. That's really helpful, especially having some actual figures to work with.

I agree that setting up a profile, uploading a larger amount of content and promoting a platform to your existing audience should be treated as separate contributions.

I'm open to compensating creators for helping us build up the platform, rather than expecting everyone to invest their time without anything in return.

We recently ran a paid onboarding feedback exercise with creators. Everyone who completed the exercise and submitted their survey was paid within 24 hours, and we used their feedback to help shape our latest UI improvements.

You also raised a really important point about personal information.

For JiggleJiggle, identity verification is handled through Yoti, rather than asking creators to send their identity documents directly to me over email or social media. I completely understand why models would want to know how verification works before signing up, and I'm happy to walk through that process and answer questions.

Your suggestion about trusted creators and ambassadors also makes a lot of sense. I'd much rather have someone genuinely try the platform and share their own experience than simply pay for a recommendation from someone who's never used it.

Given everything you've raised, I'd actually be interested in having you test JiggleJiggle yourself.

At this stage, I'm not looking for you to spend hours broadcasting. The initial focus would be verifying, setting up your profile, configuring whichever services interest you and uploading a modest amount of existing content.

I'd be happy to arrange a short call, walk you through the platform personally and discuss a fair fixed payment for that initial setup.

If you like what we're building, we could then explore a separate arrangement for additional content or promotion. There would be no expectation to bring your own audience just to get started.

Would that be something you'd consider?

You can DM me to discuss, but I'm on my way to Exxxotica NJ then moving immediately upon my return so timing may be difficult. But feel free to dm me, happy to discuss a bit more.

Haha love the honesty. The logo was the original design and we have updated the platform recently. I have requested the logo to be updated and this should be tweaked asap. But keep the feedback coming! You can be as brutal as you want!

Great, I'll send you a message now. A friend of mine is also attending NJ X3, I will share his details with you.

I’ll get back to your dm soon but just to check - you mean exxxotica right? X3 is a different event and held only in LA and Amsterdam I think
