    FYI, you don't need to spend a ton, especially if using OBS with hardware encoding. I'm using an HP EliteBook 8570p that I bought off of eBay for less than $150. It streams 1080p with ease.

    I don't know what chromebook you have, but the CPU on your chromebook is most likely woefully inadequate for encoding HD video. I'm guessing chrome OS doesn't support OBS either, so you're probably SOL.
