Oh my freaking god... So I FINALLY broadcast again after a looooong hiatus. It was kind of tough figuring out the mechanics because I forgot which apps and bots I had been using specifically, and how to make it all work. Nonetheless, after looking at my old notes, I thought I got it all together, and just barely made it in time to do a little in the time before roommates would start coming home and cramping my very private style!

Well, so it looked like although everything seemed to be working, I had no tips, and no comments. I could see that people were watching, and some stuck around for basically the whole show. I never got more than I think 12 people in the room, some purple, etc. I kept going back and forth, and I did have sound as far as I know, and I was working it a bit but not giving too much away... to be honest, I was having fun, so just kind of figured, hell, whatever, this will take time to get started up again, it's like I have to start from scratch because who knows if my old regulars will show up after being emailed.

I was mystified though that despite launching and relaunching apps and bots multiple times, they never showed up in my feed. Like, my hashtags never seemed to show up, no rolling menu and reminders to follow me, etc....hmmmm. I did try writing in a comment though, and that did show up, so I was like... eh, I guess I just can't see it, and no one else is writing because their hands are... ahem, busy. :) I was having a good time, and my confidence has been really lagging lately, so I didn't want to mess with it too much. Plus, have my period so you know, that makes me feel a bit... well, not awesome. I didn't have time to fiddle with controls for hours, because I was in a time crunch just to broadcast and finally get back in the saddle before I wasn't alone in the house anymore.

Also, my viewers were only showing as (1) unless I specifically click on the viewer tab, and then can see the real number of people in the room. But I do remember that one being as issue before I took a break from camming.

Well, after logging off, I am truly dismayed and horrified to find that in fact, people were tipping me and commenting to me all along!! I feel awful, because I pride myself on being responsive and giving my customers 100% satisfaction. I am so worried now that they might give me a poor rating, because I met goals but never fulfilled them because it never showed up as tips!! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm super grateful to have made anything, and to have anyone want to pay me after such a long time away and being on for such a short session - particularly because this was a non-nude one. But I feel terrible, and I don't think there's anyway to contact these guys. I'm so glad they left notes in the tips. Apparently, they were really liking it, and here I was thinking I was just in it for myself today...

So I will try to get on again soon and see if I can make it up to them. But what gives? Is this just a matter of restarting internet, restarting whole computer, or is this a common thing? You know how CB support is... totally useless, and slow to get back to people with semi literate responses, so I figured I would ask you here. I will check in with CB support if in fact someone gives me a poor rating, but let's hope they'll be kind and let it go this time. I don't want to mess up my 100% satisfaction streak. But does anyone know why I can't see comments, tips, apps or bots messages, etc, and yet I can see my broadcast? Or why it only shows 1 viewer (me) unless I click specifically on that tab? What gives?

No wonder paying people were coming in and leaving after a few minutes... it was too quick for them to have gotten off and left, but also too slow to be the typical casual look and leave from boredom. And it kept happening repeatedly.

Ugh, I hate when I don't know what's going on. To be honest, it could be something really simple, and I'm just out of practice. With my brain inflammation from being sick, I do forget things a lot, and maybe I got confused and messed up. But I never had this problem before.

Much love to you all, and thanks for replies!!! Also, any members who want to chime in, while I'm looking for the model side of it, this thread might just let you know if a model isn't responding back when they're broadcasting, maybe they can't see you. Have you ever had this happen when you tipped and they seemed friendly (smiling, or talking) but never respond to meeting goals or to anyone's comments? I am so upset if new users thought I was running some kind of scam, because that's totally not what I'm about...

At least I did get a few new followers... but not as many as usual for the length of the session.

I'm 99% confident that I know what happened. You kicked yourself out of your own chat room. Meaning you yourself were not a member in your own chat room and only your video was streaming. You will then see an empty chat room.

This can happen "just so" (unlikely though) or somehow by mistake you opened your own chat room in another browser window. This will kick you out of your own chat room. You can test this when you open one cb room and then enter the same chat room again and close the second browser window. You will continue to see the video but the chat is stuck and you can't chat, because you're not a member of the room.

When you see a non moving chat room. No messages at all, hit f5. It should fix it. You can also check your token stats of course. If you get tipped but don't "see" the tip or hear the tip sound, you're not in the chat room.

Your members will probably have noticed it too, because you were not in the members list. So don't worry too much. Maybe they even tried to send you a tip note.

Oh, god, I don't know if you're right, but THANK YOU for this!

I forgot to mention, if relevant, that I opened it in Internet Explorer, because I find that when I broadcast from Firefox the CPU usage spikes a ridiculous amount and my laptop gets hot. (I need to get a new laptop though, because I am having overheating issues lately and don't want to go to all the trouble to fix the glue, etc...). No other internet issues, and I can boradcast in HD, although I haven't tried the whole OBS thing yet. Need time to learn.

The only thing I can think of is that I did have a problem when first logging in, because there was the window to remind not to broadcast minors, and also a thing with logging in where they sent passcode. And for some reason, no matter how many times I put in the passcode they said it was wrong, so I had to have them send again. And then it worked, but the screen was in the way and immovable so I couldn't read the under-18 message, so I had to fiddle with all that to try to click "I Agree" or whatever it says without being able to read it, and also be able to close the passcode window because it didn't trust my laptop (although it's the same damn device as before...). Ugh, anyway, for a minute there I had two different windows open trying to finish logging in for broadcast, and maybe that caused a glitch?

Note, when I clicked on the user tab, I COULD see how many people were in the room. But you make a good point, now that I think of it, I don't think I saw myself on that list, which usually I would have noticed myself rising in the ranks from 0 tokens to having more than most users. ... Hmmm. WTF did I do to myself? I will have to check next time, and if I don't see myself again, or can't see comments again, log out, try your advice, and start over. I think I was in such a rush to get on and just get it over with, because I have been avoiding going back to camming for so damn long now and I have been feeling in such a funk about myself... I just wasn't thinking.

I am most grateful to you for taking time to try to figure it out!! :)

Has this happened to anyone else here? Or am I the only idiot? :)

At least I can't suck too totally much, because even though I was totally non-responsive, people tipped me multiple times anyway... enough to make 2 goals. I really hope they don't think I'm a douche, and will give me another chance in future. I wonder if this affected how many people were in the room... if for no other reason, at least because people kept leaving when it seemed like I never did the goals or spoke to anyone despite tips. Suck.

I will have to get my courage together and try again. Best to everyone!

It has happened to me too ;) It's why I know that this can happen

Did you maybe check how your own stream looks and opened your own room in a second window (I did this)? This would result in a "kick" out of your own chat room. And yes, since you mentioned having two browser windows open i'm really sure you "somehow" kicked yourself out.

And don't worry too much. I'm totally sure some users will have noticed that you're not in your own chat room and will have seen why there was no reaction to anything.

I agree that it sucks that there’s no way to contact your tippers on CB. I mean, sure, there’s reminding people to follow you on Twitter, but many of them do not.

And half the time I feel like I’m walking on eggshells on some of these cam sites, with being oh so careful as to what I AM/AM NOT allowed to discuss in the chat (Like which sites can I say the word “Twitter” without getting in trouble...which site won’t ban my ass if I have a T.V. show playing in the background where a MALE voice can be heard...which site doesn’t want me mentioning ManyVids/Clips4Sale...etc.). Lol.

You know, I didn't even think about the fact that since the last time I was on, CB has now been affected by all the US concern over FOSTA/SESTA/whatever it is. So, there is even less chance they will be cool with me contacting customers now than in the past. But, yes, this functionality would have been great. I also would LOVE if CB added a chat-for-pay feature, so I could deliver emails for pay or whatever. I'm good at sexy typing, and it's way more comfortable for me than camming. Doing it via CB would be way easier because I already have a built in fan base and regulars, plus it's already a pro-chat site so it just makes sense that there are people who like to type there. I'm not interested in exchanging personal info or meeting up, or even doing Skype... so no problems. I just want pay for chit chat, and maybe sometimes photos along with that if necessary, vs. the way they do photo files now which I feel is extremely limited and annoying, because of file size, etc. etc. It would be better to be able to personalize them for big tippers specific to a conversation you had via email or if CB could run its own message service, all the better!

But lots of times I want to message my regs and answer a question, or ask something, or say, hey - sorry I missed you/you missed me (even just for free)! Especially because even when I was on before my schedule was all over the place and I could not always be that consistent with time... although I was usually on every day, multiple times a day, it varied all over the 24 hours as to when, and how long for. I never really knew in advance to be able to post it on my page - as soon as I knew I was free and felt well enough, I started broadcasting pretty much right then. As soon as I felt too sick, I would lie and say I had to run to "go to work" and log off. There was really no warning either way, for any of us. So thankfully they have the email feature to let them know I'm broadcasting, but that's not enough notice for most people when I'm not on too long, and it's a totally different time or day from the last time they saw me. That kind of interaction is very critical for building a personal relationship that is so central to the type of cam persona I have, the girlfriend experience. Regs need to know that they are thought of, and get personal special communication from you off-cam when you can focus on their needs and not be distracted by a million other customers as is the case with the CB format. I would be really good at that, and I know it would quickly increase my pay exponentially, because I can write a huge amount of words (obviously, lol) in a very short amount of time, making it appear that each reg is my main squeeze, when actually I might be writing a bunch of them in the same day, plus camming.

So yeah, I wish they would figure that out, because it would be good for CB too. I have been told here in another thread that this pay-for-email/chat thing does exist on other sites, so combining it with camming in a chat-heavy site like CB is just a no-brainer to me - BEFORE all the US regs concerned with trafficking, anyway. Now, it seems pretty unlikely they would go out of their way to develop such a function, although if practiced in an ideal way, it actually would make trafficking way less likely, because why the hell would I want to see you in person if I can make my money without you ever even needing to see ME on cam? Sounds ideal.... but of course, we don't live in an ideal world, and people would certainly abuse the feature.

Too bad. For me, camming is a great way to AVOID having to consider prostitution, and to avoid the risks of being trafficked or assaulted in person via jobs like strip club, or disease and other like emotional risks from typical porn movie work. From my perspective, contacting customers via message, or Skype for that matter, should not be a concern. But I do understand that CB is focused on the big picture financially, and they want to avoid being shut down.

.

Funny thing is, I did NOT check myself out, although I did this in the past and there was no problem. Actually, when I did it before, I quickly opened a Firefox browser to do so, without logging in, while I had my Internet Explorer window open to broadcast. So it never knew I was looking at myself... or trying to, lol - I never actually found my page! I was trying to focus on customers so didn't want to be gone too long, but I just wanted to check what page I was on and whether it was posting HD - and initially if I had a "New" tag on or not (I never did, with any of my accounts despite broadcasting the very first day of approval)... so I didn't have time to do much other than search through the pages of roughly how many people I had in the room and try to figure out where I placed. But CB is ridiculous, there are frequently 43 pages of competition, and no quick feature to search the pages in the middle. So, it took a long time to try to get to middle pages, and then scan each one based on roughly how many people were in the rooms, while also paying attention to people talking to me, and trying to look hot and entertain, lol! But I really wanted to know the page number I was on, and what my competition was. So I could compare as I tried to get better, and also see how long it took me during a session to rise to whatever my best page was going to be for the day. Ironically, it's way easier to get viewers when you first open a broadcast, because you are at the last few pages with nobody in the room, and there are people who only flip through the last pages. But once I get in the middle, it takes a lot longer per new viewer, because those people can only find me via hashtags, or already following me/searching my name, or just happening to be flipping through page 9 or whatever the fuck page I was on... CB is REALLY hard to get the kind of viewership that allows you to be on the first page, even with a good show, until you're on consistently enough to have huge follower numbers. Which sucks because you might be stuck on page 20 or something for years, while the people on page 2 are flooding their own page with a terrible show but a lot of bots that fill the room and artificially tip.

Anyway, back to my point, I did not intentionally open a second window. But, perhaps because it opened a popup for the login, and then opened another for the 2nd login when the first failed, and I didn't close the failed one before filling in the 2nd one and that one working, maybe that's what did it? I dunno, I'll have to pay more attention next time, to try to avoid this!

But I'm glad I started a thread about it, because I am wondering if others have had this situation too? Hopefully what's been posted so far will help. I'mnot sure when I'll broadcast next, but I'll try to update if it got fixed the next time.

And, hopefully this will also clue in members who read in this general section, that sometimes this is what is happening. They are often very quick to cry 'scam,' but in this case it is a genuine businesswoman who wants to give great service to her new viewers, who apparently logged herself out of her own room or something - possibly before even going on-air so they couldn't see that she "left the room" and then genuinely could not 'hear' them talking to her or tipping. So, I guess that is a thing. Albeit, probably more likely with people who are new or have been on hiatus for a long time. But I'm sure drunk people or cam models who didn't manage to get their beauty sleep might do this on occasion too, lol! :) Sometimes it's hard not to be una tonta del culo... stupid happens. :) For some like myself, perhaps more frequently than others, lol...

Last night I had the whole "user list not showing up/number of users not accurately reflecting the actual viewer number" happen a bit. I know that's probably the least problematic issue you were facing, but I find it happens now and again. (I went back to look at my tip log, and it seemed normal)

Thank you for this dp, Majora! So stressful - what causes this? It can't be logging yourself out, because I've had that before like a year ago when I had no other issues. Does anyone know if logging out and back in again, or simply shutting down broadcast and then rebroadcasting, fixes it? I'm a really obsessive cammer, who logs pretty much every detail of everything I'm doing to learn how to make it more successful. I can't do that easily when I can't easily see how many people are in my room at any given time while I'm doing something. Like, it's very important to me to note if suddenly a bunch of people come into my room while I'm giving a close up, vs. maybe using a prop, or moving a certain way. Also, if suddenly a bunch of people leave when I am doing something. That's the only way I know how to improve my game. Like, comedians will watch a tape of their show and try to up the laughs per minute. Since people can only tip one at a time, or chat one at a time, the only way for me to tell how I'm pleasing people is not through sound feedback like laughs, or even typed comments because proportionally few people leave those, but through people in my room as a reaction to a given interaction.

I also have noticed that certain music and sounds seem to dramatically increase tips, whereas others can suddenly stop tip flow altogether or make people leave. It's only through the wild experimentation that I have learned this. So hopefully at some point in the future I'll have done enough research to be able to keep max tippers in the room at one time, while also increasing their output of tips via all the movements and sounds and props or whatever that make it most likely. It's really funny to watch, like a Pavlov dog response, how a specific sound will make a bunch of people start tipping, day after day after day, and another will make everybody suddenly stop what they're doing and leave the room (even when these are different times of day, and totally different users in the room)!

For me, this is the fun of camming - the research of it, the experimentation, the psychology. I'm not actually a psychologist, but god, I miss my academic work! So... yeah, being able to check the number of viewers is actually VERY important to me - and to be able to do so without having to switch screens, because I want to be able to see it while I'm in motion, not mess up the flow and go over to my laptop to start clicking on stuff, or stop in the middle of interacting with comments to check. The number should always be visible.

I don't get what's happening that it keeps showing (1)! But then I click on the tab and it will say 14. Or it will say 30, and even when lag time for the system is factored in, suddenly it will say double that when I click on the tab. Like come on, my room didn't just halve or double in a second... your system sucks, CB! But, that is a different issue from the number never changing and always saying one... which creeps me the hell out, because I've never been on CB and not gotten viewers, even if at points there were few of them, and maybe no one was tipping, or even talking. It's terrifying not to know who's in the room or not.

And for me, because I cater to women as well as men, it is VERY important to know if new people came in for me to check, because what I do changes drastically if there are women vs. what I do if there are guys. My prerogative, I usually will change up everything I do to focus on one woman - even if she doesn't tip yet or much - and ignore all the men in the room. It provides them with a good free show, and genuine education of gay ladies, for one... and for two, let's be real chicas, I'm lonely! lol So yeah, I will gladly hit on any chick with a heartbeat in my room... unless I am perhaps in the middle of a serious rain of cash from a dude. But even then, if he's a jerk, I have been known to suddenly drop him in favor of a woman who tipped 2 tokens, lol. You can't always tell from user names, but if I suspect female, I'll head on over to her page and check photo, etc, and start conversation. Usually I;m right. You can always tell from the way they chat too if they're for real, and not just a guy posing. But if the number says I'm sitting there alone, or doesn't change to let me know to check who the new people are who came in, that really screws me over. In the past, it has cost me new lesbian fans, because they ask if I am legit into women because I don't see them in the room and am chatting up the dudes in a way that guys want to hear, and they insist I am only gay-for-pay, which I truly am not! (If anything I'm straight sometimes for pay, haha - although I never actually deny my sexuality... but I may seem more into a straight guy than I actually am. It's like those messages on car mirrors - "objects in mirror may be be gayer than they appear"!) But it's hard as a cam girl to balance that, because if you talk up the woman angle too realistically, guys start to realize you really DO prefer women, and get turned off by reality. It sounds like a fantasy... until you realize the thought of your hard dick makes her dry up like the Sahara and wrinkle up her face, and that you bore the fuck out of her. Well, for the non-rapey ones...

Ugh, must go to bed now and stop blabbing! But anyway, yes, thanks, this actually was an important part to me too, and sounds like it's not happening to just us probably, nor is it likely caused by the logging self out premise!

Much love to all of you out there in cam model world :h:

You could post a temporary graphic at that top of your profile that explains what happened the night of " x" maybe offer a discount code or freebie for anyone who can prove they tipped that night!

Thanks - I did not think to do a screen shot. I didn't realize anything was really off until later. I just thought no on was tipping or commenting, which I thought was fine because I had been away for months, and didn't announce my return beforehand. I will have to remember that though if I have future issues now that I know what it looks like, for the sake of CB support also.

In this case, though, the only reason I know people tipped is because when I logged into my account later, CB had all of them complete with tip comments, recorded. So I can see exactly who tipped, and what they said to me that I missed. I always keep close records of all my good tippers, so I made notes and am prepared that if I see the same names in future times, to stop and explain to them what happened, thank them, and give them what they paid for where they paid enough to meet goals. So far, though, I've been fortunate, no one logged negative ratings. So I think it was just a single messed up incident, probably brought on by my own confusion and lack of sleep... Doesn't seem that anyone cared as much as I did, and in fact, I did gain new followers for that session too, so I guess they were having a good time despite me not following goals or replying to specific comments!

----
Edit: on 2nd read, maybe by "graphic" you didn't mean screen shot of the event. Well, regardless, if you meant create a graphic to explain the incident... fortunately there were not a million different tippers, it was just a handful of repeat people trying to get me to goals, so I can deal with them specifically if I see them. I remember all the names, and I did follow their links to look at their pages too.

I wonder if Dave was wearing a dress when posting here. He will be missed either way.
