We all see the advertisements popping up here and on Twitter for new camsites. Such a HUGE percentage of them are bound for failure before they even launch. I know it amazes us how little effort and thought they put in to how their page looks, the grammar/spelling on their FAQ and sign up pages, etc.

I tried to help this promoter on Twitter since he @ directly to me. Here's the response I got.

Yup, you're right dude, you didn't spell it wrong. My bad. Carry on!

Feel free to add to this thread with your experiences, silly typos, terrible landing pages, whatever you've found when checking out a new camsite who has contacted you.

They didn't realize I was talking about their site, haha. Thought I was calling out a tweet (when clearly this is a quote from their signup page, but, still.)

At least when I cleared that up, they thanked me. Obviously this isn't the worst of offenses we've seen from new camsites, looking forward to creating a collection of those!

I'm of the opinion that we should have a separate board for camsite adverts. Maybe there could be a helpful sticky explaining to people who to actually advertise their site?

Also, and most importantly, we would be able to keep all the posts together and laugh at them and go haha, you made a cam site but you're not good at it :laughing5: and be mean to them and stuff.

Also, and definitely least importantly, it might be helpful to some people to have an index of sketchy studios and sites?

I don't have any good new site stories though :( there's not enough drama in my life! Boo!

We try and aim to never have a sub-forum that would only have a handful of entries in it. Near-empty categories are a bit of a put-off. I'm not writing it off completely, but I'll have to keep this as an option in the future.

I kind of wonder why all the big name porn studios do not start camsites. They may have the money and publicity to make a new site work.

lol In the same area, he misspelled "receive." (as "recieve") Yeah, pal, it's i before e but usually after c is the exception. :)

I've wondered the same thing too. You'd think they'd want to capitalize everywhere they could.

The same with me some time ago. But in my case, I got studios. Maybe I should use this to start my own webcam site. Does anyone prefer beans rather than tokens? :P

There is a company called Manwin that owns pretty much all the big names of porn, either paid sites as free tube sites. They filled this year a merge with Reality Kings (Naked.com). I'm not saying their plan with this is to get into the webcam chat business, but they will end up owning a webcam site. I don't know if it was approved already.

ScoreLand has its own webcam site. I don't know any other porn studio/producer, besides RK/Naked, that got a webcam site.

Don't forget that many porn models tend to build their own personal website and offer webcam chat in members area.

Hahahaha, I love this!!!

Honestly, I'm such a language perfectionist (in both the languages I know) that this kind of disregard to spelling will actually remove all interest I have in whomever is writing. I'll really think "I don't want to know you" if I get a badly spelled message online!

On a completely unrelated note, this reminds me that I promised to write those subtitles for you :) I'll do it as soon as I have the time!

Along with Naked, they'd also get Fling.com, then. And I think Sublimedirectory.com as well as Webdate.com. I know Webdate and Fling are owned by the same company, not sure about Sublimedirectory (though that is where I first saw about Webdate many years ago).

Fling is a so called "dating site" which promotes hooking up and banging other members. In fact, the "looking for a relationship" part of profiles isn't even a first thing. And they call it "open to relationship" as opposed to looking for one. Fling is also a pay site, but it has webcam chat rooms with up to 5 cams viewable at one time. A few amateur porn girls work for Fling, mostly from Reality Kings porn, obviously, including Genie Onyx. Their job is to basically flirt with members and make it appear that hot girls are willing to get naked and maybe more in order to keep the male members who haven't found a hookup from the site to stay subscribed.

Webdate is a free dating site that has webcam chat, but only one cam viewable at a time.

Besides the difference in cams able to be viewed at one time, Webdate doesn't allow nudity in public rooms, while Fling pretty much encourages nudity in its public rooms. Webdate tries to be an actual dating site, while Fling is all about finding someone to bang and isn't shameful about it.

Ironically, this weekend I'll be at the house of a couple I know from Fling... The wife is also a MFC model (or maybe was, I should say, I don't think she's been on MFC in a while), and another Fling member who will be there is also a MFC model.

At least one other girl I know from Fling is or was also a model, but I've never seen her online on MFC.

I think at this point there's at least 10 old "starting camsite" threads you could throw in there, plus this one and the "read this first" thread. The biggest reason I didn't want to suggest it is because it might actually encourage them to come here, and with how some of them like to spam the models, not sure you'd want to do that.

Then again, not having it doesn't seem to discourage them either.
