The Internet
Personally, I like the chicken one, but I like to mix in raw onion.

So when in a pitch and on ramen, or lazy and you don't want to cook anything more, or hell, you just want to eat ramen, how do you cook yours and do you do anything to it?

back in middleschool, we used to crunch up the noodles, pour the seasoning packet into the bag, shake it up, and eat it raw! Now when I eat Ramen, after cooking the noodles I pour out almost all of the water before i mix in the seasoning, then i add a nice amount of Zataran creole seasoning to spice it up a bit.

It's (almost) always Beef flavor for me (I used to do pork occasionally, but beef is the best). Sometimes I'll add teriyaki to the water I cook it in. In the end, I drain most of the water, add in some extra teriyaki, but only put in half of the seasoning packet (Mostly so I can justify putting in the teriyaki. Sodium overload).

Oh, and for awhile we had sesame seeds at my house, and I'd put some of those in there. Mostly for a varied texture.

Depending on what flavor I use, I vary what I do to it. With chicken I toss in some peas, carrot, broccoli, corn, or mix and match those. I also like to drop an egg in there and let that scramble in the mixture. This makes it more like a mush as the egg takes over the liquid. But with the mushy eggs, the crunch from the veggies and the noodles holding it all together it works well. With beef I prefer to add ground beef, some spices (cinnamon, red pepper flakes, etc.) and maybe a little bit of veggies like carrots or maybe even like green peppers and onions or something with zing. A shot of Guinness wouldn't hurt either. Then just black pepper to taste and it's ready.

Inserts college student diet here >.<

Dump Ramen into bowl
Fill with water
Microwave for 3 mins
Remove water
Add seasoning
Eat

Poor college student diet ftw xD

I'm a college student, but I will NEVER make ramen in the microwave. Just unnatural to me. Only on the stove top.

microwave is faster than the oven... makes for quick food when you wake up late for class lol

I totally know the unnatural feeling... i said the same thing when i first went to college... i had moved in with a friend from highschool that was going to the same college and he made his like that... i thought it was weird as hell myself...

I usually just add some extra seasoning... sometimes it's onion powder and garlic salt mix, sometimes it's curry powder, chilli powder, and powdered paprika. Every once in awhile, I'll throw an egg in to make it incredibly filling.

Actually, I think I'll do that now...

Chicken with the onion and garlic this time, I think. And of course, the egg.

I've actually quit using the seasoning packets & just strain out the water, add butter & Parmesan cheese. >_>

I feel like the only one who would still just eat the noodles without adding anything except the seasoning. When I go for ramen/noodles, I do it for how easy it is. Adding stuffs contradicts my original purpose. Oh, and I always drain the liquid. I don't like to fish for noodles.

I might try Frankie's suggestion some day, but I usually do that with leftover spaghetti noodles anyway.

You're not the only one who does that. But I don't always drain the liquid.

To be honest, shit cooks with the noodles, so it's not really any more difficult.
Then again my dogs probably get better cooked meals than most people do with how I cook. Gus had a beef roast cut for lunch today, I just prepared it rare for him, maybe a little blue since it's made to roast and not grill, but it's for a dog after all. I just cooked it and tossed him the damn thing. He loved it. I did end up cutting off a bit and taking it to my mothers dog though.

I eat ramen and noodles like you do, Amber, except that I keep the water in there.

I overcook mine by a few minutes so the noodles are softer and almost mushy

Then I drain to almost no water and mix the flavor pack in. Then I might have some peanut butter on wheat toast as a side dish with a glass of milk. That's my sad ramen ritual

With a spoon? But the noodles are so long, you need to at least use a spork, man. Actually ramen is perfect spork food once you think of it.

I don't need no steeenking sporks! :naughty: I smash the noodles into little pieces while still inside the package prior to cooking. A spoon works just fine. ;)

NO! Noodles should be LONG and not broken. this way you can slurp them up. On another note, who's had Pho?
